My deck is just an Ukkima solo deck. It's built to pump Ukkima and flicker/bounce. It's almost too easy, tutor up collossification (or several other pumps/equipments) put it on Ukkima, now whoever decides to remove Ukkima loses, and I can swing in and bounce Ukkima back to take out 2 players in one turn. deck is so quick and efficient I had to retire it. I learned about Food Chain after I'd already achieved great success with it, and while it might make it even better, I'm not sure, and I'm not willing to spend the big bucks for Food Chain to find out, especially when it's already OP AF in my playgroup.
@@JakeandJoelareMagic Well strangely at times the deck isn't fun for me, mainly because all I do is ramp up and activate the bomb. And surprisingly I don't get focused down except for by my one friend because he knows, but I have been targeted by 3 people and still managed to survive and win. Being able to OTK the whole table tends to have that effect. Ukkima + colossification swing in 22 commander dmg, bounce Ukkima and copy ability with strionic resonator etc bada boom
@@wiseosirius9643 Any chance you still have that list laying around? Could use it for inspiration. I'm in the process of converting a Yuriko build into Ukkima ad Cazur.
There's a ton of tiny blue creatures that are unblockable. Low mana cost as well. I loaded up with those, sprinkled in some tiny black shadow creatures, and then a bunch of removal spells and counter spells. Forget the ninja stuff. You want this to be fast and aggro. Don't forget the mana dorks too.
The route I went with Cazur and Ukkima was low level mana dorks and unblockable creatures, with a +1/+1 focus. A lot of my cards remove counters to draw cards. I can win with unblockable Commander damage, unblockable big creatures over time, Aluren + Cavern Harpy + Ukkima, and/or Ukkima + Ghostly Flicker + Narumeha. It's a lot of fun!
Same. That's all you need. Like an unblockable version of Ezuri, claw of progress. Those 1/1s become pretty big if you can manage to keep your commander protected. Throw in a couple tiny infect guys like Blighted agent and it's over.
Really interesting ideas, the other options which I use in a non commander deck (considering making a commander with Ukkima and Cazur though) is might of oaks and then berserk, if he has counters on already you can take out two people with the commander damage rule (or in normal just kill them lol) also Merin of clan nel toth is excellent for the sapling idea because you get experience counters and can bring things back into play or your hand… great video though as a first time watcher I found this really useful.
Voltron I like to have a good amount of artifacts that pretect and pump ukkima Also cards that put lots of counters on ukkima are viable as well, especially with Reyhan
Originally I ran kaseto oorochi archmage as the commander for my unblockable matters deck, but there were always a bunch of black cards I wished I could run, so these two getting released was quite the blessing. Kaseto is still in the deck though. He is a great enabler just like thassa
you probably want to cast thassa's oracle first and respond to the etb trigger w tainted pact. TP is also good here bc if you remove the food chain creatures w it you can stop when you get to foodchain and you got your wincon there without oracle
Bro!? Zulaport with skullcap... that’s diiirty😂 and I love it! Talk about a tide changer, currently use zulaport the cutthroat, but you already know ima keep my eyes out for a skullcap😈
Hmm.. one thing I didn't hear you mention was Infect - my initial take on the deck was giving Ukkima Infect through some means, and give 10 power through buffs or equipment, then have it forcefully sacrificed/bounced/flickered/etc - it's LTB effect says it deals the damage, so you can blast all your opponents for 10 infect (I initially had equipment that automatically equips on a creature ETB) Unlike typical infect decks where you need to take an opponent out one-by-one, you can use the LTB to one shot them all lol
Abyss! Thanks for the input. You're absolutely right - infect would be a house here. I try to vary up the strats from video to video - maybe I need to include strats that didn't make the cut but I think would still be viable. I appreciate the note!
Etra the silencer is a bad idea, I put that card into my deck and found unless you have a lot of draw in the deck it is hard to get her out more than once and hit more than once, a great substitute is to play Elbrus the binding blade, ukkima you can play whenever you want, if you wait until turn 6 to play him or if he is out from playing on turn three then when you get to 8 Mana then u play Elbrus the binding blade, it will give ukkima +1/+0 which means more commander damage, also when ukkima hits bc he can't be blocked it will turn into a flying, intimidate, trample 13/13 that gets 13 +1/+1 counters whenever a player loses the game, this card only takes a turn or two to knock one player out and then it gets bigger, this will take the attention away from ukkima and onto Elbrus which will allow ukkima to keep hitting the enemy which means ukkima is getting bigger and dealing more commander, with two threats all the other players will try to remove ukkima but reconsider bc he can deal damage to any player when he leaves the battlefield, this means u get to knock a player if they remove him, this basically means the only way to stop you is a go wide deck that will hit u back really hard, or a board wipe that gets rid of your entire board wipe, also hit player deck is very effective and strong, I play mine with a mix of mutate to make ukkimas power even greater and allows the deck to play faster and really put pressure on your opponents when you choose to
The deck is strong, however it lacks in ramp due to ukkimas CMC and how much the deck wants to get things on the board, also when I play it against my own decks ukkima is often killed due to the second ability, I would recommend running a few cheap counter spells so that ukkima can stay alive long enough to have big impact on the game, but one card that can be secretly good is Ginger Brute due to him being a low cost drop and pay one to basically make him unlockable, plus with kasur and winding constrictor his power quickly goes up and can deal large amounts of damage
And one last thing too is that the consistency of the deck is low, as well so one game.it could be a 6 or 7 on the power scale, but others play like a 4 or a 5, it depends on how much cazzur and ukkima are being removed
Unfortunately there isn't really any mass DS in BUG, but if you're just trying to maximize damage, there's always overwhelming stampede. If you're trying to double up all of your combat triggers though, you might be SOL
blink could definitely work, you just wouldn't want to lean too far in to it, as you want Ukkima to grow a bit to take advantage. maybe something like conjurer's closet?
I'm considering powering down my yuriko deck by making it a cazir and ukkima ninjas deck, utilizing creatures who offer buffs for creatures with flying, and thanks to ninjas in green we actually have a reason to play them. Still am sad that ozolith is 20 bucks now.
@@JakeandJoelareMagic I put everything but Feast and Famine and Fire and Ice in the deck. Now Im building an equipment deck, waiting for Legends so I can use old Akiri and someone else as commanders. Of course gotta put as many swords as I can fit into that deck. Probably gonna bite the bullet and buy the last two and toss them in there. I own like 3 copies of light and shadow, 3 of war and peace (borderless, regular foil, regular), 3 body and minds. 2XM was so much fun.
@@JakeandJoelareMagic well it's sort of stewing in its own juices on my desk at the moment. But it works with that combination of keywords with a splash of unblockable to make blocks hard. It also has Harald of secret streams and reconisience like effects
That's true, mostly considering it from a filtering standpoint - pitch a land you don't need, get your creature through, draw a card you'd rather have when it untaps. And it isn't much mana. Paying two is definitely worth drawing a card.
I basically play it like my old Edric deck with a splash of black. Small, unblockable creatures pumping them with counters and proliferating them. Also drawing a ton of cards. It’s a fun deck to play. Very fast and aggressive. tappedout.net/mtg-decks/cazur-and-ukkima-counters-2/
