      I would, but they fly pedo flags on their avatar. or atleast they were LAST june. maybe like many other companies theyve learned their lesson, but based on mikes attitude and morals, I doubt it.

    This series has been super helpful!! Gonna be playing as a netrunner in my first game of CP:R and was super nervous on learning all the base game systems alongside the netrunning system which takes up its own like 40 page chapter. My first session is next week and im turbo excited :0

      Putting another one of these out in the next 24 hours, Vehicle Combat. I'm glad it's been helpful, I wanted to keep it as casual and to the point as I could.
      Let me know how it goes!

    this was very helpful to be able to observe how it works and not just theoretically try to put it together in my head. I think the only other thing that could make it better is perhaps a visual icon representing the skills being used because they get mentioned pretty quickly.

    This one was disappointing for me. i think if you wouldve actually explained what the stats on ice are for and how they come into play it wouldve been more helpful to someone clueless. Thanks for the vid

    Fantastic breakdown. This really helps with the visual component.

    I see that you alternate between the Netrunner and the opponent until both run out of NET actions. If the Netrunner PC wins the initiative/speed roll, I just let her use all of her NET Actions at once. In my mind, I'm allowing the Netrunner to more quickly reach an inevitable conclusion. Now I'm thinking that I might be too generous though by allowing the Netrunner to escape some counter attack damage.
    Great video btw

    so i was trying to see how you run a net runner in a game came across this and i love it shows me my initial thoughts where wrong this makes the net runner look more fun for the game. i'm now looking forward to one of my players using one. i just hope my first game meets the one standard i have for this and that it is fun.

  • @joshdrew7261

    Okay... so why does the demon just stand there. Like the net runner, it can run around to different floors at light speed. It can use its control action, zap, and then move to a different floor. Unlike other black ice, it can hide behind passwords or other black ice and force the net runner into really bad situations while still doing its job. They are what make these kinds of delves dynamic.

    • @DiceTTRPG

      Because it would have stretched the Netrun out longer for not really much more reason. Originally I was not even going to have one in it. This was to just show a basic example.

    • @lordzaboem
      @lordzaboem ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm, a Demon is smarter than a BlackICE, but is it tactical enough to abandon its control node to seek cover like that? Maybe... It's a good idea, and it definitely can, but I would think that some Tech would have to instruct it ahead of time to use that degree of strategy.

    • @joshdrew7261
      @joshdrew7261 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lordzaboem I don't think that a tech is neccisary. It says in the description for demons that they are built with a knowledge of every facet of their arcitechture and immediately know when a netrunner has jacked in. While demon ai have very narrow priorities (1. Use control Nodes. 2 Defend Self) I think they are built knowing how to optimaly operate and use their arcitechture to their full advantage especially as part of their defend self priority.

    • @MysteriousAya
      @MysteriousAya ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lordzaboem Because the Demon is part of the NetArch it is like a runner who has complete access to the system. It can use the control node by freely "moving" to it and using it then slipping back out. A node can be used once per turn so it isnt as though the runner can't use it on their turn after the demon has used it both fighting for control over the node.

    I do have one question: According to the rules, it says when you jack out, everything in the net resets, and that only a virus can leave lasting effects.
    Wouldn't you have to leave a virus at the base to leave those control nodes deactivated or am I misreading? I can quote the book real quick because I'm just a little confused.
    "Jacking Out "resets" the defenses of a NET Architecture, meaning you'll have to start your run over from the very beginning, which can only be done by jacking back in to the same location you originally entered and giving it another shot. All your Programs leave the Architecture with you when you Jack Out. If you want to have a permanent effect on the Architecture, you'll have to reach the bottom to leave a Virus." ~Core Rulebook page 198

    Why did the Pathfinder action in the lobby of the architecture not show the Imp & the control node?

    Very helpful. Learning to GM now. I’ve written most of my campaign, and I’m really excited to get going! Quick question though, and please I’m sorry if this is a stupid question for all the experienced GM and 5e DM’s in here but what is this software? I live in a different state than one of my groups that want to play, and this looks like it would be incredibly helpful.

    Hey Dice, super appriciate the guide videos for RED. I was wondering how do you handle "silent netrunning"? My player has the class fantasy of a sneaky hacker but I feel like a lot of netrunning mechanics have the assumption that the bullets are already flying when netrunning takes place. How would you handle this player, considering there are omniscient demons with access to alarms?
    Additionally, if a netrun is taking place out of combat (like a sneaky one), do you give the spotlight to the netrunner for ~20 mins or do you jump back and forth with the other players? Realistically the netrun would be done in 30 seconds of game time so the other characters wouldnt have time to do anything else but the players might get bored...
    Thanks again for the videos! Keep up the great work!

      No trouble. In the first week of August they are gonna allow modding for it too. Right now it lacks automation so if you are looking for something like that out of a VTT keep that in mind.

      His Interface roll beat the DV of all levels. It would not have revealed anything greater than that roll.
