Quick note: empathy goes down by one as soon as you go from a multiple of 10. So if you have 6 emp and 60 humanity the second you go down to 59 you then have 5 emp. So you go down to 0 humanity when you hit single digits: an automatic "make a new character" moment
When youtubers are more motivated to make a video on character creation going through all ways of creating a character and video editing + diagrams than me creating a single character on a week end.
Having an 3 enemies, corporate execs, that can throw entire corpos at you is like having asaraka, militech and biotechnica sending assault squads just at you
I know this is an old video. But it technically does offer two genital customizations. Mr. Studd and Midnight Lady. Which allows the character to have the, ehem, 'best version' of those two respective sexual organs.
I couldn’t focus on anything you were saying :) the little yellow guy is soooooooo cute! Thank you for explaining and going through the character creation process :)
Wow. Chummers. In a Cyberpunk review. That's just triggering, my dude. Chummer: Shadowrun Choom: Cyberpunk I wish I knew which came first so I can know who copied who by deciding that 'Chum' was the term the dystopian future would latch onto, and not 'Dude' or 'Bro' or 'Hombre'.
Like my friend just started a cp red campaign and is cool with the crazy ideas that we do in it. Like my character is corpo executive with a covert op assistant that has a bomb implanted in her without her knowing and my character has a batman utility belt with gadgets. And so far the group was surprised on my choices 😂😂
This might be a little late, but Red has some major spoilers if you try for 2020. How big? Well stop to consider that one of the actual campaigns (spread across 2 books) that could be run for 2020 takes place From November 2021 to August 20th 2023... A ton of them are harder to get across when you stop to consider just how Schizo the tech is for the pre-war days. Agents are prototypes for the most part and as such are kind of rare, so most cellphones that aren't also Netrunner decks are the 90s style brick phones. Cyberware are mostly fission powered from a battery the size of a button cell, which lasts for five years and ingame modern forms became widely available in 2013. And then there's the Net... The old Internet, that got problematic thanks to spoiler war, is essentially a blend of all the buzz words you hear about actual IRL Metaverse combined with all the infrastucture of what the 80 and early 90s speculated we would have in terms of clock speeds and programing languages. and that's just the safe zones that the cities provide. There's an entire book on how the net harware works and another for how Netrunners abuse the system with a crap ton of programs. In case you got to this part of the comment and are wondering, I entered Night City via the 2020 era, just before v3 finally escaped with the the doll art for the core book.
2020 is quite similar (from what I saw). Hit points are fixed and harder to manage, more math in combat involved, game offers you starting equipment, but it only a suggestion for every Role, not given in advance, you get money based on Role and how advanced above 5 (0-10) you are, then roll 1d6/3 and multiply, Tech is named Techie, Medtech - Med Tech, Exec - Corporate, Lawman - Cop, their Special Abilities are ... more ... special? They are mostly quite poorly defined. Most of the skills are chaotically defined. Also, game strongly suggests that you should kill your players a lot and sabotage their effort on every opportunity you get. "How to play" section for GMs was quite something to read. I am not sure how people made it trough 2020, because apocalypse was already going on back then, so given that Cyberpunk setting is dystopia (it also writes that theme is a dystopia), does that mean apocalyptic dystopia is forever? What happened to the climate change? Because in 2020 it was already "coastal cities are getting flooded" bad while people were already on crewed space mission to Jupiter.
It’s because this game takes place in 2045 after Johnny Silverhand exploded the nuke in the Arasaka Towers and for many years Night City was covered in nuclear fallout that has a red tint, also making all of the sunsets and sunrises much more reddish :)
@@TadeuszLysiak It wasn't just the nuke, the atmosphere got contaminated with heavy metals and other chemicals during the 4th Corporate War and that contributed significantly. After a few years it died down and doesn't really do it by the year 2045 anymore but it still marks the time period and generally describes an attitude, a heaviness, a feeling people have about the post apocalyptic and hopeless era.
from what I gather, no, even the lowest skill on my netrunner can only be 3.. which is my will. Eesh. At least my body is 7! I lucked out. But yeah my lowest skills are 3 and the book mentions they have a minimum of "2" which I think is the lowest possible attribute rank you can have.
The Streetrat and Edgerunner creation paths sets a minimum of 2 for starting skills. The Complete Package way to create a character doesn't have a minimum starting level (Pg 90 of the Red basic book)
I mean i was hoping id get a breakdown of every option you have im character creation not just watch you choose random stuff over other ramdom stuff all of which i have 0 understanding of because if your googlong a character creation guide you proba bly havent played the game before

Thanks for this character creation video! I’m planning out future gaming sessions and CP Red is on the list so this will help my players out a lot!
Wow this was super helpful, thanks, ive watched many videos and a lot of them assume you know things already.

Cyberpunk 1988, Shadowrun 1989
@@Maladjester thank you.
You have been a lifesaver
Thank you for this video, I will be sending this to my players!
This needs to be in the game
GOOD WITH THE MEDIA ROLE

Funny how the sequel to 2020 (ignoring 3rd edition) was released in 2020
Very good graphics. Great Breakdown. Looking for something new for my group. Running out of ideas after 25 years.LOL!
We are NOT going to use the Penis 2.0.77 extension mentioned at the end. I don't care what the rest of the group says.
I love these videos
How about doing, SkyRealms of Jorune, Darksword Adventures (get your Rock-Paper-Scissors ready!), or Alpha Omega (so you can get an hour video in! 🤣)

Since you did a bunch of World of Darkness characters, can do How to Make an Exalted Character"?
please, make a warhammer fantasy 2e character
I’ve been waiting for this!
Also first view and like (don’t hate me in the replies and say no-one asked)
0:24 - Cyber generation: Am i a joke to you?
4:17 this keeps lining up with that anti social personality conveniently well, between this and the no one important in your life thing

ROLLING FOR YOUR CHARACTER IS PLAYING LUCK RNG.
Please do a character creation video for the Alternity RPG.
Can you make a video on Wraith The Oblivion? :D
Wonder why it’s called RED. Just because V3 was very very green?

So the shorthand for the game would be CPR.
My brain hurts
What’s a rockerboy?
He was a rockerboy, she said see you lockerboy
9:01 so nothing can be level 1?
