Making a Leather Sheath. Tooled leather Celtic Dragon Design.

  • Making a tooled leather knife sheath is something almost all leather crafters will end up making in there lifetime. I start by creating a pattern for the knife and work my way into cutting out the leather and tooling. After that it is time to construct the sheath and make sure the edges are looking nice. I use fiebing's leather dye, antique paste and more... Tooling Celtic designs are a lot of fun and great practice for your swivel knife because they have lots of curves. I hope you enjoy!

      In this case I used 10oz leather. I used RTC resist after I dyed the sheath to keep the antique past from staining the leather while applying it. I used Fiebings antique past and when it dried I used more RTC and then some Tan-kote to finish it off. Do you need any more info just let me know. :) Thank you!
