I know it is a biblical reference but every time I hear Methuselah in Sci-Fi Context I think of Lost Starship series by Vaughn Heppner
I always think Lazarus Long from Heinlein's books. Methuselah's Children is the first book about him.
I read my way through all the scifi/fantasy books in my middle school library and my dad was tired of me winning about needing new books. Thus when I was probably too young to be reading Heinlein, my dad plopped down a huge old cardboard box of beat up scifi and fantasy novels from his Navy days in front of me, without even checking what was in it. Boy did I get an education 🤣

Im pretty sure you are pronouncing that wrong. Methuselah is pronounced muh·thoo·suh·luh. He was the man in the bible with the longest recorded lifespan. Thats why this live forever project is named after him

Lol at everyone going at your pronunciation of the name. I would just chalk it up to thousands of years passed, and the name passed down in history by Mus, who probably have a bit different talking apparatus than humans. Heck, just thousands of years by itself would change pronunciations due to linguistics drift.

it's interesting hearing you place emphasis on a different sylable when saying "methuselah." my own, and various online resources put emphasis on the U meh THOOO sell ah. where you chose to use the second E for SELL I mean, it sounds cool, but also has a dissonance, because it's different, and out of...colloquial nature.
so...put the emphasis on the Thoo sound.
Humans! Methuselah, whom you all think as long lived, was short lived compared to his daddy. Enoch his grand father, is still around. Revelation says he'll come back ,along with Elijah , to die on earth.
Need i say i don't trust that book? The narrator was high, and the author a religious freak. Not exactly sane people who's word you can trust.

What a great story but COMPLETELY ruined by the total and utter miss pronunciation of Methuselah! He was the oldest person ever in the bible. And yet again you ruin a great story by not doing your homework. In this case the pronunciation of Methuselah has massive context in the understanding of the story.....
