Hey man i really love your reviews. Very classy i must say. But i have to laugh when you say the reboot team. Just so you know me and one other person are the team you refer to. We work hard bringing these tracks to ac and do it for fun... but like you say this track really needs bringing to 1.0 status. You have inspired me to get this finished
Hey Jamie, thanks for the comment. The ACRP tracks really are a great asset to the community, and are leagues ahead of the other conversions floating around out there. I've been referring to the ACRP as a collective because of the disclaimer on the website and, specifically, the comment about anonymity. Moreover, I don't know what the collective noun for sim racing modders is (flock? heard? mischief?), so for now, it's either been "guys" or "team"! Whatever the case, I'm a fan of the content both of you guys have released, individually and collectively. Keep up the good work!
I've only just become a subscriber to your channel and I'm sooooooo very glade that I have selected the button.👍🏻 This is a very good channel..., please "don't" stop with developing and delivering your content to us. It is first class and I just wanted you to know that it is appreciated. 😎👍🏻🖖
Norman, thank you for the kind words, they're very much appreciated. I'm still playing around with the format a little, as to be honest, I'm still trying to feel out what works and what doesn't. At this stage, I'm just happy that people are engaging with the content. Thanks for your comment and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Great presentation as usual. I'm not trying to be the mod police but surely you should mention that these tracks are from Automobilista. The guys at Reiza have created great historic tracks and I just think they should probably be mentioned in reviews of conversion tracks like this. Keep up the great videos.
Hey Sam. Thanks for the kind words. I get where you're coming from. To be honest, in the case of Imola '72, I really wasn't sure if it was a conversion from the AMS version, as some aspects are very similar, but others are quite different. In general, the ACRP mods talk about the lineage of the mods on their site, but there's nothing for this mod.
Heh, thanks for the compliment Andy. I look forward to the nice taxpayer-funded TV job in my future! ;) As an aside, Harris has been doing remarkably well in the Blancpain Endurance series this season - he's had a couple of very impressive drives in the Mclaren.
A very fine summary of this mod. Automobilista's 1972 (plus 1988, 2001 & 2016) version of Imola is evocative and thrilling, but I will have to check out this AC mod. Keep up the good work.
Thanks again Stephen. It's actually been quite a while since I've had a drive in AMS, something I should probably rectify, as I think it still has a lot to offer. I must admit, once I picked up a VR headset, I quickly forgot about AMS, which is a bit of a shame.
My comment wasn't a plea for Automobilista videos. (I should point out that AMS's Imola is DLC.) It seems that AMS has suffered from not adopting VR; its successor will probably include it. Please continue covering whatever interests you - it's all a pleasure to watch.
Thanks John, much appreciated. Good suggestion by the way. I haven't got around to trying Fat-Alfie's mod yet, though it's on my radar. I must say, the buzz about it thus far is all very positive.
Another great video... every time I see you driving those DRM cars I get all tempted to go buy the pack but literally no one else I race with has it so I'd have to race against the AI.... so conflicted :P
I've seen a few races organised on Race Department, but there doesn't seem to be a lot out there. And, all the races I have seen are in Europe, which probably isn't ideal from a time-zone perspective. That being said, they are very fun cars - lots of depth to them. They're definitely not the sort of thing you can just jump in and be quick right away. The AI is generally fine with them, but on some tracks, particularly mods, you do get the odd issue - but that's pretty much what you expect with Assetto Corsa anyway.
Hey FJBH10 - They're part of the Assetto Corsa Legends mods by Smallblock Hero and Bazza (a quick google will find you a link to the two packs). From memory, the video features the Shelby Daytona (which isn't perfect, but I love it anyway) and the Lola T70. The cars in the mod packs do vary a little in quality, but overall they're worth a look, there are bound to be a couple in there you like - and they're free. I enjoy them because they help flesh out the late 60's early 70's sportscar field.
I agree; I'm actually running a series at the moment with ~20 regular drivers using the GT Legends portion of the AC Legends series (including the Daytona but not including the Lola - we have the BMW CSL, Porsche 911, Capri, '69 Corvette, Pantera, Ferrari 365GTB, and Nissan GTR) and it's a TON of fun. We did have Imola on the schedule but we used the '88 variant from the same site, as the '72 layout was long gone before most of these cars were even made. That however, turned out to be a mistake - when I was putting the series together the '88 mod was in version 0.7 and it was a lot of fun to drive, however we "upgraded" to the (AFAIK) current 0.9 version which made all the chicanes tighter and the kerbs about 3 feet tall and I had a lot of complaints from the drivers. Chris, did you find the armco at the side of the track super grabby in this version? I did but I don't know if they've fixed that since I last ran here.
Viperion, it does seem to be in some cars, but in others, I had no problem scraping along the barriers. Figuring out why that works like that is well above my pay grade though! On a related note, I spent the day at Brands Hatch today for the Historic Masters series. There were 3 or 4 Lola T70s in the GT field - very impressive machinery!
Hello Chris, The link does not work anymore unfortunately. Is it available somewhere else please? Br and thank you for your magnificent reviews, top quality! Damien
Good point John. I'm not sure - I don't know enough about how this is handled in the editor. Perhaps it has something to do with the physical size of the pitlane? Zandvoort, for example, only has 18 if I recall correctly.
Could well be. But if I was a track builder, I would keep in mind that the track is going to be raced online, and just 16 boxes doesn't cut it :). You can't put it in a series with other tracks that has 20 or more signups. Shame. Great track, but as a series admin, I can't use it.
Hi John. On this point, I was just reading a thread on Race Department where Lilski was talking about potentially creating a 70s version of his Watkins Glen circuit. He mentioned that due to the size of the pitlane he would probably struggle to fit more than 15/16 pit boxes. So it does sound like physical space in the pitlane is a defining factor in the number of (virtual) pitboxes. That being said, I do agree that it's a shame that this, and some other tracks can't fit 20 pit boxes.

It would be great if you could increase the pit boxes to 24 or 30 even better, so it can be used for online racing. Is it finished?
Bloody hell Chris, you’re good at this stuff .
Thanks mate. I'm still learning on the job!
Agreed

Love the channel. your style reminds me of Chris Harris before top gear, eloquent knowledgable and witty :)

Thanks Stephen. I am keen to do some AMS content, even though the audience isn't as big as some of the other sims.
J'adore ces anciennes voitures , celles des 24 H du mans aussi des années 60-70 , thanks for the vidéo.
Such a good video and review. Enjoyed it a lot.
I really like this review format
Thanks JahBushi - much appreciated.
I would like to see a review of the track; Feldbergring. Great commentry. Good work.
Thanks John, much appreciated. Good suggestion by the way. I haven't got around to trying Fat-Alfie's mod yet, though it's on my radar. I must say, the buzz about it thus far is all very positive.
It's very, very good
Can confirm, Feldbergring is great.
Would be interested to know what you think of Donnington 1938, too.
Donington 1938 is also a very good track indeed. Shame we hardly see it online.
Great video. One of my favourite tracks.
Another great video... every time I see you driving those DRM cars I get all tempted to go buy the pack but literally no one else I race with has it so I'd have to race against the AI.... so conflicted :P

Great stuff.
Thanks Mike, much appreciated.
It would be great if someone with trackbuildingskills could increase the pitboxes to 24 or 30 even better, so it can be used for online racing.
im late, btw nice video
What are the cars running at 2:45? I know some are stock Kunos content but do the others come as a modpack or just separate mods?
Hey FJBH10 - They're part of the Assetto Corsa Legends mods by Smallblock Hero and Bazza (a quick google will find you a link to the two packs). Hello Chris,
The link does not work anymore unfortunately. Is it available somewhere else please?
Br and thank you for your magnificent reviews, top quality!
Damien
Chris,
Any chance you could upload the ACRP tracks. The website is no longer.
I suppose the perfect accompaniment to this one would be Enna Pergusa 1969.
Where is this track now? Link is broken.
Nice Stuff man...
Just one thing: it' VariAnte and not VariEnte... ;)
Thanks Alessio - sorry for butchering the language!
This is a great mod except that the slightest contact with one of the barriers means your race is over.
Why are there only 16 pitboxes for this track?
Good point John. I'm not sure - I don't know enough about how this is handled in the editor. Perhaps it has something to do with the physical size of the pitlane? Zandvoort, for example, only has 18 if I recall correctly.

Lap starts at 4:33
Do you have a twitter page?
Hi Leon. I do, though it's early days there at the moment! twitter.com/Chris_HayeSR
I cant find this track anywhere now 😭
here it is: vivaiocorseracing.it/wpdm-package/imola-1972/
Great video, but you say this was created for free which is not true. It was stolen from Reiza Studios who made this for Automobilista.
seems to be gone :(
What happened to this track?
reboot project was taken down. Send me a pm if u want this track
rip from AMS track.
