I guess it's okay to murder a father on screen, but not gun down a mother off screen.

It's clear Disney wants people to hate them, for some twisted reason we don't know about.

Yes, it was very traumatizing when they stopped drawing the deer

I think it might be because as humans we can put a certain distance with a character being killed in the way Mufasa was killed (as the chances of it happening to us are very unlikely), while being killed by a shotgun, even worse by a human hits closer to home?
Might also have to do with the violent death of a mother figure compared to a father figure.
I always found it horrifying how she was the centre of Bambi's world only to disappear so brutally (in a sense I feel like not seeing her corpse was even more brutal because neither us nor Bambi know how her death played out (and what came after).
With that being said, it's utterly stupid to remove that scene, for all the reasons above.
The scene is hard to watch, but it's the most important scene of the movie.
If you shelter a child from death, they will never be able to accept it as a part of life, and I feel like there is no better way of teaching children about this hard topic than a beautiful movie like Bambi. The death of the mother is tragic and sad, because that's what death is, but we get to see that Bambi's life is not over even after this loss and that he's able to overcome the sadness and trauma.
    The reboots are trash anyway.

Yeah I'm with you man. I really don't understand the wishy-washiness of what is and isn't allowed in Disney movies today. The Lion King / Bambi comparisons were perfect. The Lion King is not only my favorite animated movie, it's my favorite movie period. And I have no real tangible evidence to prove this but the exposure to the idea of death at an early age matured me and helped me have a more sobering view of life. I first saw it in 1994 when I was...well 4 lol. Great job on this video. You've definitely earned a subscriber.

Wow thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. This is the first time that I've done an in-depth analysis on a film before, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.
Let me know if there's any film or scene that you would like me to cover.

@@movieforceofficial Man if this is your first time doing this then i'm excited to see where you go from here. Here's a topic: "Is the notion that every movie now is a remake or a super hero movie now true or is it a misnomer?"

Children here see dead deer on the road all the time. They just say “it’s just a dead deer” and move on. Deer mean different things to people in different region. Where people never see them it’s a sign from God, here they’re no more than rats. Pests for sure. Some of them even have that Wasting Disease so parts of their bodies are missing or mutilated and it just horrific. One time we were flying to Vegas and left at Dawn, I went out to the car at night and there was a zombie deer with gray eyes out there. I absolutely lost my mind, it still gives me nightmares sometimes. It was like Train to Busan, exactly is Rican to that deer. Terrifying, truly. Death shouldn’t scare Disney when there are fates even worse than Death.

Well, they just know the old films work (although they don't know why) while watching the remakes you feel nothing (so you cant be traumatized)

I heard that Disney was going to change this scene and make it less traumatizing, and yeah, I didn't even need an explanation on how that was a bad change. Though I also think that people need to stop judging Disney solely for their remakes and nothing else.

Why? In the original all we heard was a gunshot. We were smart enough to know what happened.

Very cool video and I made a video talking about the live action and the way I putted it I said “We Are So Doomed” and thanks to a person that commented on my video he said it be disrespectful to do because even the Felix Salten Bambi book was the same way just like the movie I just think it’s not going to be good on what is going to happen with bambi

I hate our society today! So we can teach our children in school that they can mutilate their own genitalia for the rest of their lives which is not natural to do but we cant show children the concept of death (a natural and as harsh as it is but necessary part of life.) in a dignified and relatively censored manner. This concept shows children that not every part of existence is happy and to appreciate the people in your life while you have them. I wasn’t scarred at all by Bambi and i was 4 when i saw it back in 2001. You’d be surprised what children can handle if you don’t just expect them to be so feeble minded

I hate all the live action remakes when I have children they will never lay eyes upon them.

At least in the book Bambi grows up before losing his mom.

These remakes have everything to do with capitalism. It's simply much easier for them to simply remake something with a already established audience instead of taking a risk in creating something new. Not to mention that the logic of the culture industry makes it easier to basically recreate remakes and reboots, because they don't actually care about artistic integrity, only in pleasing the shareholders with infinite growth.

If parents can't even handle a character being killed off screen then kids will never be able to handle the horrors of the real world.

Even though I am morally opposed to pure violence, blood guts, and gore being viewed by children. But when it comes to the story of Bambi, that’s the obvious exception.
If you ask me, kids need to know the hard truth about what happens to deer when are hunted by hunters. What it means when a fawn loses its mother…
If that gets “modernized” by removing that tidbit, then a live action adaptation will NOT be worth watching…

      @movieforceofficial  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

The depiction of death doesn't even have to be violent. It already wasn't in Bambi or Lion King. It was just there.
