Thanks for the great breakdown. My Siemens dishwasher was not moving the spray arms at all. I thought the motor was gone. The impeller bushing was stuck after being idyll for a few months. Greased it up and everything is back working again.
The bushing was mounted between the impeller and the plastic housing mounted to the motor. I thought it was one piece until I tried to remove the bushing from the plastic housing. It took a bit of force to sperate it. Inside the rubber was what i thought was ceramic ring bearings. I used a bit of white grease as that is what I had to hand.
Great video, thanks. The tricky bit is diagnosing the problem accurately. I think that I may have an impeller problem, my dishwasher runs, pumps water, gets hot, but the cleaning arms don't move well (I've thoroughly cleaned them) so I'm assuming it's a low pump pressure issue, which seems to fit the diagnosis of an Impeller problem. The most useful thing you said in that video was that the impeller breaking is a common Bosch problem, as that gives me some confidence that's the issue I have, ta.
My wife didn't get the filter screen back in right and pumped debris into the spray arms clogging the holes. Clogged spray arms could be an issue too. It took quite a while to clean it all out. I think it also messed up the pump.
Could it be that it's a motor itself gets toasted? I got same sort of an issue with my Bosch 800 series and pretty much sure that it's an impeller issue and got a repair kit being ordered. However I just recalled that my wife has mentioned that she smelled something like a burned rubber or something out of a sudden in the kitchen area about day or two before she found out that dishwasher was not working properly. Now I am thinking about it and wondering if the motor itself could be a problem. Thank you very much.
Could be something jammed the impeller and the motor got really hot. It has a thermal cut off to protect it so it’s probably ok👍 You might try reaching into that hole at the right side of the sump with needle nose pliers to try and pull out what ever is jamming the impeller 👍
I had the same problem with loose circulation pump impeller. Was able to re-attach mine, didn't have to pay for and wait for a replacement part to arrive. I double-fixed it, first superglued it then heatstaked the pins protruding to the back side. For the gluing process, I sanded lightly, cleaned with alcohol, applied activator to beige part and cyanoacrylate to white part. For the heatstaking process, I had prepared by drilling the holes in the beige part deeper (but not all the way through increasing the diameter) with a handheld 5mm drill. Then after the gluing, deform the pin protruding with a soldering irom set to 200degrees. The part is solid and the machine runs great again. Has done 10 loads so far, will update here if it breaks again.
Excellent vid! I can't believe there is no clamp on the drain hose. Yikes! How long do impellers last? Mine is 3 yrs old and the filters are clean and the glasses are not so clean.

Hi, I have upper spray arm not rotating. water is running through nozzles but I think the pump is not developing its full power. How to fix it? All nozzles are clean
my problem is upper arm is not spinning but water is coming through it technician visited and he said it's bcoz of pcb problem but i don't think pcb is faulty is there any relation between upper arm unable to rotate and pcb ?? all wash cycles working fine just upper arm is not rotating please help me Bosch series 6 dishwasher 1 yr old
My 2 year old bosch MODEL SHEM63W55N dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes. It start giving me trouble from last couple months. It has three racks the top rack is small and we don't load much stuff in it.The middle rack dishes are always half uncleaned but bottom rack is little better than middle one. I checked both arms and filters they are perfectly clean. Machine is making steam and draining water properly. some time i found half used detergent pouch dropped in the middle rack pull pocket. I tried to operate on heavy cycle (2.45 hrs) but nothing help. Even the light load on heave setting doesn't clean. Do you think the water pressure is not enough for middle arm or impeller problem ? Is this impeller is very common problem in these bosh machines?
I would first suspect a faulty inlet water valve not letting enough water come in. After 4 to 5 minutes the washer should fill with water up to almost the top of the plastic filter handle. If it doesn’t there won’t be enough water pressure to effectively clean the dishes. It’s actually really easy to replace the water valve. If the water reaches the proper level then the next thing to check would be replacing the impeller for the circulation pump.
The impeller seems to have cause some minor scoring on the top of the assembly housing. Should I be concerned of this? No need to put it all back together only to find out it isn't going to work. Thanks for the all the content. Greatly appreciated.

I have Bosch super silent serie 4. After i changed soap it dosent clean well always STAIN on dishes. I tryed alot of thing i cleaned the diswasher .. helppp what shall i dooo ????
Diswasher not cleaning properly. Spray arms ok, top rack cleans everything fine, but the bottom only comes out half washed, dirty streaks etc. Stripped everything like you did, impeller is fine, as in it didn't fall apart. Not sure where to go from here.

It will fill but the water won’t slosh around even though you hear the pump running.
