I always thought that Pikes Peak is a special mountain compared to other « 4000 » peaks, especially ones there in the Alps. They are totally covered by glaciers and snow while this one is covered by forest and naked stone at the summit… And a road to the top !! 😂

Serious question, this is Colorado springs which there are a lot of military and controlled air space. How do you get clearance to go to 15,000 feet? The ceiling is 10,000 for this unit, after that you need O2, been to the top of Pikes Peak, the air is pretty thin up there. Special permission?? Or just go for it and hope you don't get caught...
+JoJo Kadilihopper it is totally legal to go up 15,000 feet. There is a rule that light sport aircraft can go up to 10,000 feet or 2,000 feet above terrain. The peak of Pikes Peak is 14,400. We can climb up to 16,400 feet. We had a small oxygen tank in our trikes.
I was wondering about O2 - anybody ever use a small O2 concentrator instead of a tank? Those are quite small these days and they don't run out of O2 so long as you've got 12 volt power. Just looked it up three pounds for two to three grand. 2017 MODEL INOGEN ONE G4 - 2.8 POUNDS $2,495 I suppose the FAA needs to approve it. )-:

Remington Bradley I used minimal 0.5 LPM with a nose piece. My tank is very small (4 cubic feet). But lasts few hours with that rate.

Is the Rotax engine running really rich at that altitude?
My engine is Rotax 912iS, fuel injection. perfect mix all altitude.
