    Well I have been flying for 30 odd years and in days of old a trike with a 447 2 stroke Rotax. Some 500 hours of flying I think it failed some 6 times; small end bearings peppering the pistons to points gap closing to ignition failure in the ON position and jammed full throttle etc.
    On one occasion flew a few hundred feet above a forest and she failed; sh#t !, Amazingly a postage stamp field appeared out of nowhere; winged it in skimming the last tree but landing at a rate of knots, through an arrester wire farmers fence like an aircraft carrier hook and she stopped with the wing relatively gently nosing over and bending the monopole.
    A few weeks later and we're good to go again; a lucky escape I think and one for the log book and memory bank.
    Not as exhilarating as this vid by far but hey I'm still here.
    If the engine fails in that video situation yousa fecked.

    Sure, awesome footage indeed! Very “cool”! But at what risk? Is it really worth it? I’ve been flying, and teaching flying, in ultralights for 43 years, since 1980. Never an accident, never even a close call, even with a few engine outs over the years. In one of your comments, you sound pretty cocky that you’ve gotten away with this sort of irresponsibility for 30 years. If you’re feeling invincible, and enjoy the thrill that much, then go ahead. But to take an unknowing passenger who probably doesn’t understand the risks of riding with a pilot with that sort of attitude, is not ok! Being a good pilot is not about your ability to handle your craft, but rather your ability, or willingness, to make sound responsible decisions on how to fly. THAT is what your passenger is 100% trusting YOU to do…. with their life.

    Power lines, power lines, power lines. When you fly below the treeline the way this guy is flying, you will hit a powerline eventually. One day you may fly in a familiar area that did not have power lines the last time you were there, but suddenly lines were added and you did not know it and you and your passenger die. Why fly like an idiot? It reflects negatively on all pilots.

    Great video, what a rush that must have been - on any aerobatic or extreme video there's always a list of people quoting old and bold nonsense - to them "Everything you do carries a risk - when you drive in a car you are only a few feet await from certain death." • @lucianphotography7240
      @lucianphotography7240 ปีที่แล้ว

      Skilled flying is not to be admired when you also have a dangerous pilot who clearly lacks good judgment in control of the aircraft. That would be like a good marksman that swing the gun around into the group, as he chats to the crowd about shooting. If you can't see that and appreciate what has been said by at least 90% of the comments, then you are as stupid as this pilot.

The pilot is an asshole for taking a passenger with him, plain and simple.
