I had a tartar of a teacher who insisted upon our knowing All of Greco-Roman history and mythology! Ironically, I live on a New England harbor and there are images of Poseidon everywhere representing his connection to the sea. Nary a horse in sight however!

The closeup of the coat showed some marks near the lower buttons, like maybe the buttons have been moved over to accommodate someone who had lost a lot of weight. It looks a little odd to me. It would be easy to move them back in line with the others.

The Greek horse definitely resembles the Trojan Horse, I think his name could be Troy. As to the Gouda piece. Gouda pottery is named after the town where it’s produced. Just like the cheese. Also just like Delft which is a distinct blue and white, from the town of Delft, and easy to distinguish from other blue and white pottery from other places in the world. Being Dutch myself, I thought you might like to know this. It’s either Gouda ( which your piece is ) or it’s Delft. Never both at the same time 😊
