I noticed that each fastener is a different body. Is there a way to have the fasteners use the same body (i.e. one thing to modify if there is a change)?

The fasteners are patterned. Change the lead feature and the others will update.

Will your BOM show the nut?

How do multi bodies behave when you export it out as a step file? Does the step treat it as an assembly?

STEP supports bodies so it treats them as a body.

So reimporting the step creates an assembly?

    • @CADPLMGuy

That depends on what you choose when you import. Again, STEP supports bodies, so you can import a part with bodies as a part.

Also, how does multibodies work with windchill?

I talk about this in a blog post on my Patreon. The "PEM use case" like I have here currently isn't supported but PTC is working on it. Bodies currently aren't recognized by Windchill. If you take a look at my video on embedded components from Creo 5.0, you can see it is something they are working to address.
