I’m a fly fishing and fly tying nut and can’t imagine fishing with bait anymore, but I really like your videos. I like how you showcase the locations, because they look like great places to bank fish with the ole fly and bubble rig. As a change of pace, I really enjoy this method. Haven’t watched all your stuff, so I don’t know if you do it, but if you’re interested I’d love to send you some of my little mini Pistol Pete’s that I tie. They absolutely kill it!!
So I would use your fly and a bubble rig on my rod? If so, yes, I would love to try out what you make. As far as fly fishing, I don't do it for two reasons. 1. I really like sitting on my butt! Constant casting is exhausting to me and I am out to relax. This is why you don't see me using any of my lures. I throw them out a few times and that is it. 2. Trying to operate two cameras is hard enough. There is no way I could fly fish and turn on the cameras at the same time. When a fish hits my line, it takes me about 20 seconds to even get to my pole. Maybe one of these days, I will break down and get a fly rod.
Bait: no minnows can be used at crystal creek and south cat res. North cat is restricted to artificial lures only. You’re good my man. Thanks for the content.
@@orlandosalazar6557 welcome to the Springs. This channel is all about where to go fishing in and around Colorado Springs. Yes. A medium to ultralight action spinning rod is perfect. I like a 6 footer, but any length will work. On the reel I like 4# Trilene XL or 8# braid. This light of line isn’t completely necessary, but it’ll enable you to make amazing long casts. This line gets threaded through the narrow end of the tube of a medium sized clear casting bubble. Rainbow Plastics Tough Bubbles are the best. After the bubble is on the line, you tie on something like a #6 barrel swivel to hold it in place. Then about 6 feet of 4# fluoro from the swivel to the fly. The bubble tube is pushed open to let in water and then closed to hold it in. 3/4 full of water for shallow fishing or full for a slow sinking presentation. This weight from the water allows very long casting. Then just huck it out there and have a seat while you slowly real in. Strikes are all feel. I think you’ll get a kick out of it. TH-cam has several fly and bubble videos.
Absolutely great fishing!!! The third cove is the next one I was telling you about… It is a little bit of a walk… However, looks like that cove has good size ones also!!! Definitely makes the walk well worth it… I’m so glad you had a blessed day Fishing!!! Keep the videos coming… Grace and Peace Peter
@@fishingCOS The spot you were fishing is a GREAT SPOT… Proofs in the pudding… Great fish 🐟 Thanks again for the great video!!! Have a blessed night Grace and Peace Peter
Thanks for sharing. When driving on HY-24 use the left lane only to pass. Cruise in the right lane. Might save you some honks and bad looks from others. Have a great day.
Hi, thanks for posting. Did you need to prepay to reserve a spot here or did you get in just fine without a reservation? Also was it only $6 to get into Crystal Creek?
Yes powerbait at crystal creek, but no at south and north catamount, but when draining the catamounts, you can use power bait until its too low. I just listen to the CPW gate keepers.
I have not heard of Rosemont Reservoir. I was planning on going to Pueblo on Monday (just to get skunked again) but this sounds better already! What's it like?
@fishingCOS that's the one. Gotta walk a trail down. Not exactly wagon friendly. Another way in is parking down near the dam. I walked up to the damn and climbed down the ladder, it was the shortest way in i found. That was a few years ago though
@fishingCOS and if I remember correctly, it's fly and lure only. Not a lot of people because you can't drive up to the water. Or maybe even Brush Hollow reservior just outside penrose
Where is good place around Colorado Springs to catch cutthroat trout? I’m from Iowa and have caught plenty of rainbows, browns, and a few brook trout but would like to catch a cutthroat as I never have. Thank you
Is there poles and gear available for renting at this spot? If not where would be a good spot to pick up some gear will be in Colorado Springs for a few days on vacation
Bass Pro is a great place to go. You can also go to Walmart. I recommend getting an Ugly Stick combo. Inexpensive but great. Those are the poles I use.
Thank you , I was looking for a new fishing spot with nice scenery .
All of the reservoirs at Pikes Peak are beautiful!
We just fished there this last week. Caught so many trout. Nothing else though.
Trout is what it is stocked with.

Thank you for the information on the reservoirs! I appreciate it and I am sure that the people that read the comments do as well.
I know back ways into that location on horseback. Camped up there and fished Many times. Too many people the last few times I was up there
That's cool. Yeah, there are a lot of people everywhere. That is why I prefer to fish on the weekdays.
Thanks for sharing!
You bet! Thanks for watching!

You don’t reserve spots here. You just pay to get in. I don’t remember off hand how much but I believe I said it in the video.
those are some very small almost sickly lookin trout
Sorry they don’t size up for you
How long were you there fishing.
About 4 -5 hours

I hope your wife didn't mind you going fishing without her on your anniversary...!
My wife and child do not like fishing at all but they support and love that I do! They are the best!!!
Let me know when you’d like to do it. I don’t mind the drive at all.
Go to the about section of my channel. You’ll find my company website and you. An contact me that way to make arrangements
I just found your channel and I've been binge watching it. Have you ever fished Rosemont reservior up off of Old Stage rd?
I have not heard of Rosemont Reservoir. I was planning on going to Pueblo on Monday (just to get skunked again) but this sounds better already! What's it like?
I'm finding a reservoir off of Gold Camp Road. Also called Penrose-Rosemont Reservoir. Is this the same one?

A lot of the lakes have cutthroat. I don't know how to catch them though. Luck?
Amazing fishing my brotha have you tried eleven mile? You should I use Powerbait and get huge ones
The reservoir or canyon?
@@fishingCOS the reservoir I’ve caught many fish there by the marina and at antero reservoir not to far from 11 mile
I never have any luck at 11 mile. I’ve gone tons of times. I think I need a guide to show me where to fish.

@@fishingCOSwe are going to be in Colorado Springs next week just wondering what the best spots are this time of year for nice trout and variety?
Sportsman Warehouse
What rod and reel do you use?
I’m pretty simple guy. I use an ugly stik.
Just call it “Crystal”. I never hear people calls it Crystal
Creek”.
Sigh
