Government should improve tram system in Kolkata

Watching this video made me nostalgic. I had lived in Kolkata Baghbazar and Kalighat areas for 25 years before setting down in Mumbai in 1973. Trams were my favourite mode of transport. I still miss the great cinema and drama theatres, very easy way of life and generally loving nature of Bengalee from folks. I continue to follow the changes which have taken place in Kolkata and fear that I may not be able to recognize many sites now. That is why I have resisted myself from revisiting the great city as I do not want old memories to die. In any case at 82 years of age it is not possible for me to undertake long journeys. I would prefer to live in memory.

i want to express something to all. 2016-2017 i spent 1 year in calcutta tramways company(now name changed to West Bengal Transport Corporation) as a diploma apprentice trainee. that was an awesome experience throughout the year. and this video screwed me on the nostalgia of that time. we were 3 musketeers there in the company and used to hobnob all the time. we used to sleep inside the tram during our idle time. inside the tram was our club room like place throughout the year.whenever we couldn't find someone among us, we directly went to our club room and discovered him there. he might sleep there or chat in fb or something else. during summer season, we used to have ভাতঘুম after lunch on the seats of club room. those were our golden time of life. i can't forget those days.

There is a small place near Esplanade Tram depot. It's called "Swaranika-The Tram Museum" it's a small museum cum which can be a good place to explore.
I travelled many times in tram as I live in Kolkata. I have travelled from Howrah to Bidhannagar in tram.
