Military tow rig! I would love to see you build a trailer to haul and tow rigs! Also giving it sort or a rig rescue theme, work lights, winches.. the works
I wish I had found this video 2 weeks ago! I’m working on a similar build. Ford F100 cab and Umg10 4x4 bed section. Had to stretch the frame 2.5 inches. I combined 2 scx10 chassis sectioned and bolted together. Waiting on a leaf spring kit to arrive as well. Not going for a super capable crawler. More like a realistically modified truck. Going with a lawn care service truck theme.
I had been thinking about doing this same style build. Lost momentum when I couldn’t figure what the wheel base would be. Will be following this one for sure!
I just got a Redcat gen 8 pack axe edition, so it has all the upgrades that the original one didn’t have. Can’t wait till it’s delivered, hopefully it’s here by this coming Tuesday.
I love this idea! This thing's going to be awesome. I own the UMG 10 and I love it so much I must have over $600 into it but, I look forward to seeing yours completed. I recommend going with the c chand/rc4wd front Grill and painted body color because it just looks so incredibly good,. Along with all the C Chand accessories made for umg10. I made mine look as a CASE MB4/94. UNIMOG
Matt green with white signage, and it should be driven by a local tree surgeon with the cab sign written. Oh and don’t forget the chainsaws, ropes etc in the bed. 👍 Looking forward to seeing this progress and come together. 😁
Considering the Unimog is a basically a street legal tractor, highway maintenance or forestry are things they are used for. Could just paint it red and say it used to be a fire truck for that matter. My 1/6 scale is a 19" wheelbase and without steps, fuel tank and air tanks on it, it crawls surprisingly well.

Paint it silver on the inside, and tan or olive drab on the outside so that it'd be a matte military color and any scratches will look like metal is showing.
how about an off road "Safety/Extraction" Light duty tow truck. Lights, front and rear winches, tool boxes, and maybe a welder. Bed, fender flares. and belly band of the rig in flat black (Rhinolined), and the rest of the truck in winter camo. If you look at the lines of the rollcage and spin that shape around....Well at least I can see a tow boom. Maybe dually for tow stability.
Exciting !! .. Watch a few K4 Videos . Looking at a few 1:1s I bet you'll find a couple good ideas and a clear thought for a paint scheme . A particular choice but it's gonna be cool rig ! I like a good Unimog !lol 😎 👍
So I was custom making a scx10 w/ capra axles. Then I got the strc lift kit. Well lets just say I got extra capra axles 🤣 I added 120mm shocks and BTK axial tires!
That’s a big a*s truck I’m excited 😊 for the theme maybe you should do some kind of search and rescue or even a fire truck 🚒 but not the type you see in town this would be one that you see out in the counties that deal with blaze ups and small brush fires 🔥 my father was on a fire dept in a small county in TN and you needed a 4x4 just to get down the logging roads so what they did was take an 85 Dodge Ram 4x4 and throw 300 gallon tank in the bed instead of taking their 35,000 lb fire truck they took that for field fires and woods fire
Actually, that crew cab would of worked well with the Proline Utility bed they used to make. If you could of used that, I'd say do a brush fire fighting truck
Tow truck with the boom sticking up out of the bed. Run a winch to run the tow truck winch. Make a rear bumper that looks like the part of the tow truck that lifts the front wheels of a car. Paint it orange with a Harley designs towing company logo on the doors.
What about a digital camo spray job with dual rear wheels and have it as tow rig or like an outpost zombie apocalypse ready vehicle for that just incase situation lol.
I'd go far left field and go with a WWII P-51, silver with exposed rivets and a tiger shark mouth going down the side of the cab, it would be completely different than anything else anyone else has, lol
I want to do this , but with a TRX4 , Wondering will the Axial Hinge system fit the Traxxas with some modification ?, I'd still like to keep the 12.3 wheelbase ..any suggestions ? great video Harley :)

It’s a lot of real estate but those black wheels with a dull red and flat black details and a good sticker job really keep it clean but not to Sammy
I say go with a Dakar theme. Bold colors with some type of sponsor logos. Also needs a "Rod knock" for that super scale sound

You could always slide the bed back to the back of the frame and then in the gap between the cab and bed you could make a spare tire mount

Military paint scheme because of your wheel and tire choice. Olive drab or a winter camo would suit that body nicely.
