      @@RCReviewChannel the umg 6x6👍 I just love the look of it has lots of scaling potential also the thing that put me off the trx6 wasn't the price but the issues I had with my trx4 I had replace 2075 2065 servos early on and the titan motor I swapped out too as the brushes have poor longevity especially since I run in alot of mud, it's a nice rig but would feel like buying the same car over again to fix the same issues finally got my trx4 how I want it but like the idea of something new to me as never had an axial tha ks for replying man💯I'm a really a big fan of your channel

    I'd argue NO mainstream crawler so far on the market is under-powered. Compared to REAL rock crawlers, these things are insane for tq/weight ratios! I have been demanding my friends and I all run in the TRX-4 practice mode or low voltage safe mode even so that we have very little power and have to use REAL WORLD technique not just stomping on endless power. Sure there are some incredible machines out there 1:1 now these days but for the most part, when you go out in the your Jeeps and Yotas, you won't be stomping the throttle to the ground when you crawl, unless you want to replace axles and parts often. Instead you go slow and use finesse, it's a lot more enjoyable honestly. I'd like to see that direction be supported for "crawlers" since they are meant to "crawl"! If I had my way, I'd program in a ramp up hp feature that would essentially make the power come on slower and build like real engine does instead of a instant TQ electric motor.

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Perhaps. But if companies are going to add two tires, an axle and a whole bunch of weight to an existing vehicle, bump up the power or at least give the option for the user to have a litte stronger motor.

    • @mickd8188
      @mickd8188 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @The reasonableAmericans...I would tend to agree with most if not all of your points... some of these hop up motor/ esc combos are really nice but also quite expensive.. I mean if your trying to run a couple of trucks for yourself and kids the cost just blows out with nice beadlocks and good tyres etc.. let alone all other aspects that can be customized...
      I can get a super enjoyable afternoon crawling with my son and a friendly comp with stock powered trx4 and Scx10ii... and nothing to fix...
      Cheers

      the spektrum dx5c controller has the ability to set the throttle response for a exponential curve, much like the pedal-to-output realism in a actual gas engine.i bought a 6x6 this weekend, ran into the unfortunate clicking/unshimmed center axle but still enjoyed my time using it!! i swapped in my own radio system and setup the throttle exponential on my radio and it sure acts like a real vehicle in terms of throttle ramp-up and output..i totally agreee with you on the finesse as opposed to brute power. its way more fun finessing it than bashing trust me, that's how axle assmblies shred :)

  • @dslfrk59
    @dslfrk59 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    My brother bought one and the 2nd axle does click but very rarely. We also fixed the rear driveshaft falling out issue by fixing the driveline angles and putting small light springs on each side of the center piece of the driveshaft to keep it centered. Also the tires suck. We did install a lighter spring on rear most axle and a 2spd transmission with a 21t 550 motor.

  • @KTMcaptain
    @KTMcaptain 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    And it's discontinued. The trx6 can unlock its diffs and actually run at speed and turn. Stock for stock, my trx6 out turns my capra without dig. Now, I've ditched the AMG body for a CST J45C Land Cruiser one and threw 4ws on the capra, so it's tough to choose between the two. One is so nimble, but the other can just straight up crawl over so much.
    .
    I also reduced the intermediate axle's wheelbase from 12.8" to 12" since I wanted it to actually provide a better breakover angle. I would prefer it to be 10" with a 16" rear axle wheelbase, but that won't be possible. It would actually give you the best of short wheel base breakover and long wheelbase stability. But the 12"/18" is still nice.

    First, you should NEVER rotate the gears by hand through the tire. The gears are Hypoid cut and similar to a Worm gear, they need to be powered at the input. 2nd there is NOT a 30 to 40% failure rate. You do not know are production numbers and thus this is FALSE information. Yes we have some with possibly bad gears but i'm still waiting to get one in hand to check myself. In the mean time, Any owners with this issue should contact Horizon customer service and they will take care of you the best they can while i narrow this down.

    • @RCReviewChannel
      @RCReviewChannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point. Please understand that this axle failed on its own by the second battery. It occurred during heavy braking and backing up. It just got worse and worse with every battery run.
      It would have been very easy to show the failure on video by just running and braking. But then the viewer will have zero idea where the problem area is. What axle? Tranny? Pinion. And that's why the wheel was rotated. It's a very similar force to drag braking.

    I do not like the UMG body. It looks militaristic. I really like the Traxxas Mercedes body it doesn't remind me of war. Fair price, bs, you can get a 6 by 6 truck from Banggood for $160. It seems to me that our well known RC brands, I am talking to you Traxxas,are ripping off its own customers. All of the established brands are guilty of the practice. Just Saying
