Yes,This guy can play melodious, has unmatched vibrato and bending, can shred, excellent tone, can do anything on guitar, Gary was a complete guitar player
Damn, but Gary Moore was a friggin' beast! I've never seen or heard chops to rival his take on this song or some of his others like "The Loner." Simply put, he just had it. You know, "it?" (Yeah, I figured you'd know.)

At 2:11 not sure how he did that and don't recall hearing that combination of guitar techniques elsewhere. Kind of like landing a quadruple axel in figure skating and adding style that is beyond what others have done. Also like how he built up to the incredible crescendo at 2:11 and other techniques about 2/3's of the way through the song. He is a just when you think he's done the incredible and near impossible in his solo he throws in something equally or even moore impressive. Part of his allure as a musician is that he sounds so confident throughout his solo - like SRV never faltering or losing his way, and also layering in techniques to squeeze the most expression from every note. One other thing; how did Freddie King create and play so many blues classics - is there anyone else in Freddie's category?
The original rules supreme because of its balanced dynamics, especially the sublime original bass line that's totally missing in every cover I have heard.
Great Version of this song... -- I get a kick out of the non Gary Moore fans that bash this version.....The .Basher's on here should just stay off of other musician video's if they dont like,, And watch their fav artist and praise them..
yes Heritage... they did a signature Gary Moore model in around 1989/90 that was made at the old Gibson Kalamazoo factory. not mine btw... i57.photobucket.com/albums/g219/davida54/Amber%20Heritage/NewHeritageAmber002.jpg
Way better his ‘classic rock blues’ tone in the 1995 Montreux version. That concert was a masterclass in blues rock guitar playing, and at his absolutely best imho.
jim lennon Your grammar makes it kinda of hard to understand what you are saying, but what I see in Gary was that he played with more soul back in the 80's. Maybe something happened to Gary. Maybe he just got bored, but in the later years he just played fast and angry with little thought of being tasteful or making his guitar cry or sing.
1971SuperLead After i wrote it I thought someone i.e you would say something, it is not hard to understand STILL GOT THE BLUES SAME ERA IF THAT AINTT CRYING AND SOULFUL I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS
1971SuperLead listen to need your love so bad at montreux if you like the blues it will blow your mind and this was towards the end of his career, not 1990 the later performance , it shows he can play with such a deft touch and so magically
No Fredrik he was ahead of the beat so much all the time that it never gets a swing. This is the classic example of fast as lightning guitar...where less would have been Moore ;-)
It's called pushing the beat,a concept which you clearly don't understand. BTW I also love the original Freddie King version which I saw him play live. It's a great tune open to many interpretations.
The guy can play. Okay? I think we can all agree on that. He is technically very very good. But- if you compare this to the original Greenie version there is ABSOLUTELY no comparison.
Green and Moore are better guitarists than I'll ever be but I never liked this fast interpretation of the song. It's supposed to have a slower, lilting groove with off-center phrasing--a stumble! At this tempo it becomes a barreling freight train and loses that effect entirely, even more so when their phrases fill in a lot of the spaces that Freddie left. I apologize for my heresy and will now return to my cave.
...and then after Gary saw this he never played that guitar again and i understand why.Gary was a great player but his sound here is pretty bad.Trebely distorted ear piercing sound not good.
It seems your opinion here is very, very out of touch with most... read the other reviews. You don't even know what kind of microphone / recording was involved. Complain and criticize much?

Missing you.... Big Time.
I was at this concert at Montreux, I remember just smiling at my friends in awe of this amazing performance! 👊
That's so freakin awesome!!!!!
This fuckin' perfect bends and vibratos....
The sustain he gets from that thing is awesome.

My favorite guitar player... love the way he played.. extremly rocky bluesy... and metally ... damn.. i dont any other guitar that plays like this.
I think Joe Bonamassa is doing a great job too. RIP Gary Moore! One of the best!

Gary was great, but there ain't no "best guitarist", only different players. Gary was one of the best in his style.
great great player, but even Gary knew he couldnt catch Peter Green guitar or vocal wise at the blues...
