A masterful cover of the best version of what, in turn, is (arguably) the best Freddie King instrumental! Bravo!! I noticed you play those turnaround sixths in a different way (on different string pairs) from the way both Peter Green and Freddie played them. I like your way of handling that tricky section! Congratulations 👏👏👏
@@johnwhitehouse4100 Exactly! I am trying to offer a tribute in the style of Peter - And… let’s not forget, he played it when he was like 20 years old or something! Crazy!
@@maxwalmsley I’m in the UK and went to see the original Fleetwood when I was 16 back in the late 1960s they were the only band on that night so split it into 2 sessions with a 45 minute brake , it was the best night I’ve had , just inspired me to play guitar ! Pete Green was magical but let’s not forget Danny Kirwan he had a stunning vibrato action 🎸🎸
I saw Freddie in a small town in Wisconsin in, I think, 1974 and I'll say you did that tune justice. Now I have to go plug in and see if I can steal a couple licks off of you. Thanks for posting and don't ever stop playing.
Those are very kind words my friend. I might do another video breaking down a couple of sections of Peters playing. I realise that I’m doing it differently to his masterful version, but hopefully still capturing the essence!
@@maxwalmsley Please dont change Nothing - Honestly im 54 years old, just went to a concert with mr. Eric Clapton in Copenhagen and that was really good, but I missed the old blues threat/nerve. I have always played and been listenig to the real blues. Honestly, you are the best to play these old masters blues songs - you play so good damn perfect. Freddie King, BB King, Clapton etc. is the best, but heres a forgotten blues song for you: ZZ top First Album, Just got back from babys: th-cam.com/video/j9CAjoBg7Qw/w-d-xo.html Thank you...
best cover I've heard of the studio version. very accurate. slight deviations are very tasteful. thanks! I have a tele with 2 lollar HB pups wired for series and parallel and get a similar sound.
Well done, Good Sir! Every blues guitarist who ever stumbled down the pike has played this classic tune from the Texas Cannonball, but Peter Green's take is my favorite. Yeah, even over Jeff Beck's.
Ok we can all play the Stumble, Quite a few “rock it up”, but only a few make it still sound good. You have succeeded, and hats off to you buddy. I subscribed.
I always liked this song by the Blues Breakers ie Peter Green. I could never play it anything like this. Now that I have seen you do this closeup, I'm going to chop my guitar into firewood. No way I can do it Awesome playing, kudos to you !
So it’s my Roadworn 50’s Tele going into a Line 6 Flextone 3. That amp is long since discontinued but man! It had a great blues breaker tone. I think it may have been the JTM 45 model with some compression. Can’t remember now :)
Fantastic!!! Can you tell me where I might get that backing track , please? Don't seem to be able to get that exact one on TH-cam. Thanks so much. John
Hi Dave! Thanks for the generous comment. Yeah I would do a tutorial for sure. There are so many little nuances to the Stumble, especially when you listen to how Peter played it.
Great stuff. I have used a tele a lot in the past but just do solo gigs these days. The Mayall "Beano" album was a big influence on me, as I am sure it was with many.
Well, in spite of it being a Tele and not a Les Paul, that's the tone right there, and that's some great playing to go with it! I've got a few guitars, but my Tele has always been my main guitar.

I saw Peter Green play this with John Mayall - absolute magic! Your version is terrific, you totally nailed it.
Fantastic stumbling.
On the Hard Road 👍
Thanks man! It’s all Peter!
Love your take on The Stumble , and that’s how it should be , your take 🎸🎸

You do yourself and your tele n peter n freddie a great tribute to all your skills on this blaster from way back
@@donnrutherford7059 I appreciate that. Thank you.
You 100% nailed it. I'll definitely be using your cover to help me learn this.
You captured and preserved the Sprit and soul of what Greeny did and it sounds so real.
`LIKED'
Yeah!
Genius and pure joy for a lifetime.
Thanks for listening so closely, it's cool to watch him play.
The “Genius” of Peter Green....Great Performance...
I have to write again, man, you give me the goosebumps on my arms and legs - you play it perfect... Thank you...

Wow, wow, wow, wow!!! Played with authority and taste! Thank you...//pete
God bless you tube speed changer to help me nail this down!
I think Freddie got that 2 string slide thing (see also 'hideaway') from Merle Travis.
(killer tone and phrasing from the uploader)!
Peter green ever😉☺bravissimo!!!!

Excellent cover. You got greens feeling.
Best blues playing I've heard all week for sure.
Sweet with a stinger...just like Green
Just seen this. Spot on.
Sweet chops AND Tele...
Man! That's accuracy. And feeling.
Thats ace! Played it for years as an opener but I need to sharpen up!!
WOW, nailed it.

Been trying this one for a while and just came across your cover. Belting mate! Love it. Excellent work!! 👏
Just mindblowing
Thank you I appreciate that.
Thanks a bunch; the sound is fantastic as is the guitar playing.
Looking at the fret board on that Tele I bet she has some incredible stories.
Your timing is so good and that is so important
Thank you :)
Nice job.
Very amazing guitar lesson!
Thanks :) much appreciated
Great playing and great guitar. I bought a Strat two weeks ago and I,m very happy but I sense that's going to be the next one. Greetings from Spain!
Most excellent!
Thank you.

totally kicking it! I'll be subbing after this performance.

Fantastic cover. Very impressive playing and that Tele tone was perfect. Look forward to hearing more.
Nice tone man ,,,,great playin
Outstanding!! Your feel & phrasing is off the charts! Take care.
Thank you very much
Fantastic playing. I can do the original/Freddie version, but always thought Greenies version was other worldly. And you showed it is!
Very kind words my friend. Thank you.
Look out for my version of Claptons Hideaway coming soon!
Is the best 👍👍☝
Bloody brill!! Totally got it. 🤘🥰🤘
Well done. that was great.

Thanks 🙏 I used to listen to this on repeat when I was 14 trying to work out Peter Greens licks!
🎵Wonderful! Beautifully played with feeling and soul! Would you consider a tutorial buddy? Excellent! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🎵

Unbelievable playing!
Thanks very much! I was obsessed with it when I first started playing. Great fun to play :))
Back again, hope your still playing!

Pure fire mate! Amazing skills!
Freddie king , Freddie king
Freddie is the best! And Peter played a great tribute.
TASTEE!
Mate. You are by far the closest I've heard to the Master himself. Great touch and timing. You set the benchmark.
Well can’t get a better compliment than that!
ah....Yes!
Thanks
The tone is dead nuts accurate, for sure.
It’s the Tele going through a Line 6 Flextone III amp. I sold it a while ago which is a shame because nothing comes close to that sound.
