With this new method you no longer need DLLS Swapper. When you set "Enable DLSS-SR Override" to true, you're enabling a driver level override (it's the same as using the nVidia APP), and the game's DLLs are no longer used, but instead the DLSS that now comes as part of the driver. This means you can set only this option globally (without forcing any preset) to make all games use the newest DLSS version if you prefer (the new transformer model doesn't work that well in all games).
@@stickydude8921From my test, all games launched with the version replaced with a newer one, but one game after the swap disabled the ability to enable DLSS in the graphics settings, in fact, this function was simply disabled and the game became in the native resolution, perhaps it is worth experimenting with an earlier version to start working correctly

For some reason your NVIDIA Profile Inspector is missing an option that mine has just above PowerThrottle, which is "Override DLSS-SR preset" and I think THAT'S the option you want to be toggling. Guessing from the naming convention that RR is Ray Reconstruction and SR is Super Resolution. You'll see a different set of stats probably running across the top of the screen for DLSS 4.0 supported titles, like STALKER 2 for example.
The Inspector global override works much better if the Nvidia App isn't installed, it was forcing game profiles to have "0" instead of "1" for the override, I guess if it wasn't on nvidias "approved" list

And that will then point to the driver level versions of those files?
I tested overriding FG but got mixed results. It seemed to work with Spider-Man 2 but not Tokyo Xtreme Racer (even with swapped DLSS files) so I'm holding off on that for now.
It's not exclusive to 50 series but results may vary depending on the game. Some games force a specific version. Try to replace the DLSS file with the newest version if you haven't already.
can someone tell me the difference bw doing this rather than just using dlss swapper and installing the latest dlss file on every game. Whats the difference bw this and using presets on the profile inspector?
The main difference is you'll get the new Preset K by doing this. By just replacing the DLSS file, you may get a different version. For example, FFVII Rebirth still defaults to Preset J if only the DLSS file is replaced.
You may be using a different version of Nvidia Inspector. I believe there's another fork being worked on by a different developer. I linked to the one I'm using in the description.
For preset K, hex value is 0x0000000B. What would be the value for presset J? I just woant to see the difference between these two as poeple opinions vary which one is better.
@@VatchGaming Yeah, that's why explaining the settings he changed even a little bit more might have been better. People are gonna be overriding ray reconstruction settings for no reason
I tried it out in about 10 games and I found about a 10 - 20 frame upgrade by using performance over quality DLSS. And yes from what I can see Performance looks the same as quality. For Tokyo Xtreme Racer I tried performance and the car looked awful in the garage then updated the DLSS file and used the K preset from the profile inspector and the car looks exactly the same performance mode or quality mode.
Hey! Thanks for great video. I have a question- if we are Enable DLSS SR override, Does it make sense to do the same for FG and RR? If I am not mistaken it also has a new version and some improvements ? I said smth stupid?!
I tested overriding FG but got mixed results. It seemed to work with Spider-Man 2 but not Tokyo Xtreme Racer (even with swapped DLSS files) so I'm holding off on that for now.
Now that the new transformer files have been uploaded to Techpowerup, do I need to use profile inspector or can I just copy paste the files into the game's directory and it will work?
I can only change frame gen to the latest and get the other two greyed out without preset options. do I still need the inspector if I used dlss-swapper to swap to the latest 4.0 version? I'm worried it's not set to the transformer model but the older one. EDIT: Satisfactory says i'm using preset P :| god of war Ragnarök is preset K tho! without any inspector changes. the 5000 series sucks but DLSS 4.0 is such a nice update! get 60% more performance in satisfactory with the new FG vs the previous 24%. Ragnarök got me 30% extra fps and now it's like 50-60%.
Some games may default to the latest preset with only a DLSS file swap but I'm not too sure. I know Rebirth was defaulting to Preset J when it was the newest one last week, but it still defaults to that instead of the new Preset K. Do you have the latest drivers installed? It may be worth completely uninstalling your drivers using DDU and reinstalling.
How do i add that xml file to nvidia inpector directory , i tried to import that profile(by clicking on the binocular shaped icon ) and went to the place where i downloaded the file from the link in the vedio but its not showing , can someone please help i am new to these things😢
@heartofbattle Sorry to ask, but if you could answer I thank you in advance: If I want to use the Preset F for Ultraperf upscaling, I only change the Preset to F and ignore the DLSS-SR and DLSS-RR settings?
From my experience, with the K preset Cyberpunk runs with around 15% less fps (performance mode with frame gen mod and it runs preset D). For Horizon Forbidden West it's around 10-15% fps decrease (balanced with AMD fsr running and it runs preset C), so kinda sad. Visually it makes a difference, but not as big as to account for the fps loss. Any fix maybe? I didn't swap the dlss as per @oginer comment
if i enable transformer for ray reconstruction on spiderman 2, preset k indicator don't appear. Is enabling transformer blocking usage of preset K? Should i turn it off to legacy?
shouldnt the regedit info show DLSS4? it says same as you, DLSSv3 310.2.1 latest from dlss swaper, but shouldnt it say 4? ANYWAYS, so from my understanding in the Nvidia-APP you can manually set the overrides to choose the specific "Preset" you want, ie latest Preset K --- IF SAID APP is whitelisted + currently has DLSS 4 (310.2.1/etc) active in the folder. But if that is not the case, you can manually force DLSS 4 (when applicable) by setting this global settings + swapping the DLSS in the folder (via DLSS Swapper)?
DLSS Override - Model Presets should be accessible in the Nvidia App for The Finals. After clicking on the game, try clicking the three dots on the top left and hitting Refresh.
Please revert to the old driver version and uninstall the Nvidia app. Then you reinstall the Nvidia app with the new driver and everything will work, it seems this is a bug
@ True, an uninstall and reinstall of the drivers and app should fix it. I used Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely uninstall everything before doing a fresh install.
The dlss options you showed still dont appear on inspector even tho i got the xml... i used the new dlss model from swapper but the in game overlay still uses preset J instead of K.
So i did everything in the video and i fired up witcher 3 and noticed my graphics settings tab is gone and i cant see what i am running is this normal?
Not normal. I misspoke at 3:18, so make sure you changed the same settings I changed on screen. "Enable DLSS-SR" override and "Override DLSS-RR preset."
@heartofbattle hmmm i did all the steps correctly and yeah witcher 3 graphics setting tab is gone idk if it's cause I use mods and it's interfering or I did notice there was a new dlss swapper version not sure if its a must to update it every time 🤷🏽
same question, nobody is explaining how to enable the updated single frame gen for 40 series, in the Nvida APP is showing grayed out in all my games that already supported DLSS frame gen
i have rtx 3060 ti, i tried exactly the ways in your video, and the games shown the version used is 310.2.1 which is the latest, to be honest I didnt get any much perf increase, just lower vram usage and maybe better image quality only on Quality mode dlss level. Did I made anything wrong?!
Different games may look and perform differently depending on which preset you're using. This isn't necessarily for a performance increase. J seems a bit sharper than K but K is supposed to have less artifacting. It can differ between games and come down to personal preference.
If the game supports override, is it enough to just set it to "latest" and preset K in the NVIDIA app, or do I still need to configure this option again via NVIDIA Inspector?
If you can set it to Latest in the Nvidia App, it should default to the latest version which is currently K. This is more for games that aren't supported.
@@heartofbattle And in games that do not support override, I replace the DLL via DLSS Swapper and select preset K in Nvidia Inspector, and that's it? I'm disappointed with Nvidia's solution because I expected it to be a replacement for these unofficial workarounds, but unfortunately, we still have to wait for support from either the developers or Nvidia.
For games that aren't supported, you can enable it globally as per this guide or add a custom profile per game. Hopefully Nvidia will add these options to their app in the future. Today was supposed to be that day, lol.
Nvidia inspector doesn't even open up, and I have the latest Nvidia official update are there any workarounds, or it's something else, or it's better to wait that games officially run DLSS 4 because there are almost none games in my NVIDIA app that allows me to change DLSS settings.
That I'm not sure about. You can try using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely uninstall the Nvidia App and driver, then reinstall the latest version.
2 Questions: 1. Do I need DLSS enabled in game as well for the override to work or does it mess stuff up or does it not matter? 2. I’ve been having this weird shimmering problem with Black Myth: Wukong and The Last of Us Part I specifically (could be with more games too) where whenever I move my character or camera, the game constantly slightly brightens and dims itself and it’s really annoying and visually unappealing. Do you know what I’m talking about and a way to fix this? I haven’t found a fix for this yet. I believe it has something to do with DLSS sharpening or DLSS Autoexposure or something, I don’t really know.
I'm not sure what overriding FG would do. Perhaps force Multi Frame Generation, which is currently only supported on 50 series GPUs, but I could be wrong. I tried it and was getting a black screen in Cyberpunk. Not sure what RR would be replaced with, assuming that's Ray Reconstruction.
@heartofbattle I tried and it worked fine. not sure what happened with you. also wukong looks ok but that didnt even get updated from devs. does the preset have anything to do with frame gen and ray reconstruction ?

Dlss Swapper crashes every time I start it up, anyone has a fix for this?
Don't enable it Globally.. the change can potentially cause issues in some online games, and lead to bans. Also, for most games, you don't actually need to change the DLL files. Forcing the new presets in nvidia inspector will force it to use the most up to date driver that is stored within the nvidia driver files themselves instead of the game files. Some games still require you to update the files though for some reason. (Preset K is actually DLSS version 310.2, but it's in a bin file in the nvidia corp folder in programdata)
@@Vicric yea? And the DLLs that people manually swapped out were also _signed by nvidia_ and they were banned. It's about file changes. Some anti-cheats are more strict than others about file modification.
I take it that it is OK to just use Inspector and change all the settings you said (I've downloaded the file and xml) then no need to mess with DLSS swapper or do I have to download that programme aswell?
You still need to replace the specific game’s DLSS file with the newer DLSS4 version. You can always download the DLSS file and put it in the game’s appropriate directory manually. DLSS Swapper just makes it a bit easier.
Download the XML from the description and place it in Inspector's directory. If they still don't show up, you may need to uninstall/reinstall the latest driver.
@@heartofbattle thanks, will do. I also noticed that every single game I see in Nvidia app has "Unable to retrieve settings, please try again later." Not sure if this needs addressing before I can follow your tutorial?
If you do not mind, very last question: How in this setup I can switch between Performance/quality/balanced settings for DLSS? If I understand correctly this method overrides anything I set for DLSS in game settings so I can no longer control the level of upscaling there.
For the DLSS settings to show in Inspector, download this XML and add it to your Inspector directory: easyupload.io/d4ceij

Add the XML from the description to Nvidia Inspector's directory.
@heartofbattle done, thanks you! I cant understand why i dont have in cyberpunk the preset option transform or neural
dlsswapper unable as we are unable write the target directory, what i s that mean ?
Could be a number of things. Make sure the directory that the original DLSS file is in isn't read-only for some reason.
Is the improvement to VSR in? Even for 40 series?
maybe I'm stupid but when add the XML I only see profiles E, F, and J for the forced preset letter
@@pistopit7142 Unless something changed with the new drivers, it should be 0x0000000A.
Thank you ❤️
That last bit you changed in Inspector wasn't actually SR, it was RR
He might misspoke. There is no Preset for SR only RR.
@@VatchGaming Yeah, that's why explaining the settings he changed even a little bit more might have been better. People are gonna be overriding ray reconstruction settings for no reason
@@SkullDuggory Good catch. My mistake. 😩
No prob man, your vid helped me too, so thanks!
@@SkullDuggory So do I need to change override DLSS RR preset? Or only change Enable DLSS SR override?
I tried it out in about 10 games and I found about a 10 - 20 frame upgrade by using performance over quality DLSS. And yes from what I can see Performance looks the same as quality. For Tokyo Xtreme Racer I tried performance and the car looked awful in the garage then updated the DLSS file and used the K preset from the profile inspector and the car looks exactly the same performance mode or quality mode.
@@smoove7932 Which game was it?
@@heartofbattle Sorry about that, I fixed it in my comment Tokyo Xtreme Racer
does this work on 30 series cards?
Yes, it should.
That DLSS overlay, does anyone know if it can be assinged a hotkey to turn on and off?
thankyou helped alot its much better dcs now more crisp🏅🏅
My ff7 exe doesnt show up in Nvidia inspector and forcing it in the app. Nvidia report game not supported..
i dont understand for dlss overlay part, i need to make a file or something before following your step? sorry for my broken english🤐🙏🏻
You create that "file" within regedit. Right click on the blank area in that specific to create it.
@ i did it !! thank u❤️
Now that the new transformer files have been uploaded to Techpowerup, do I need to use profile inspector or can I just copy paste the files into the game's directory and it will work?
Depends on the game. Some will default to specific DLSS presets. In that case, this workaround is still needed.
I can only change frame gen to the latest and get the other two greyed out without preset options.
do I still need the inspector if I used dlss-swapper to swap to the latest 4.0 version? I'm worried it's not set to the transformer model but the older one.
EDIT: Satisfactory says i'm using preset P :|
god of war Ragnarök is preset K tho! without any inspector changes. the 5000 series sucks but DLSS 4.0 is such a nice update! get 60% more performance in satisfactory with the new FG vs the previous 24%.
Got saved from downloading the Nvidia malware app again. OMD!!!
Overlay was on show DLSSv3.... isn't that suppose to be DLSS4 ?
Presets J and K are DLSS4. Not sure why it still says v3. Either negligence or a weird naming convention by Nvidia.
How do i add that xml file to nvidia inpector directory , i tried to import that profile(by clicking on the binocular shaped icon ) and went to the place where i downloaded the file from the link in the vedio but its not showing , can someone please help i am new to these things😢
I did everything according to the instructions, the indicator in the game shows "preset J", GPU 4060TI
same, work around?
yup same here preset J
Some game don't support K yet..For example in Indiana Jones I get K but in stalker 2 it is J
Indeed it seems it just does not work with some games yet, for me it will not work for RDR2 but it WILL work for Lies of P
i fixed it by refreshing the update files on DLSS swapper and installed the newest 310.2.1
Updated Reibrth DLSS file, Option in NVApp just reverts when you try to setit.
@heartofbattle Sorry to ask, but if you could answer I thank you in advance: If I want to use the Preset F for Ultraperf upscaling, I only change the Preset to F and ignore the DLSS-SR and DLSS-RR settings?
I'm not too sure, and it may depend on the game, so it would probably be best to try it and enable the DLSS Overlay to confirm.
@heartofbattle Got it, thank you.
I think I prefer the preset J. The preset K have too much motion blur when I applied it on my racing games, ACC and F1
ANYWAYS,
so from my understanding in the Nvidia-APP you can manually set the overrides to choose the specific "Preset" you want, ie latest Preset K --- IF SAID APP is whitelisted + currently has DLSS 4 (310.2.1/etc) active in the folder. But if that is not the case, you can manually force DLSS 4 (when applicable) by setting this global settings + swapping the DLSS in the folder (via DLSS Swapper)?
In session5 common i don't have dlss3.1.11+ option for me to select the preset how can I find it
put the XML file in the description in the nvidia inspector folder
Why does it either not let me click on it or tell me i need a 5000 series? Im trying to do it on The Finals (supported game) on a 4070ti Super
Even after refresh all of the options for override are greyed out for me, even Cyberpunk
So what are the visual/perfomances differences between preset J and K for rebirth?
The dlss options you showed still dont appear on inspector even tho i got the xml... i used the new dlss model from swapper but the in game overlay still uses preset J instead of K.
So i did everything in the video and i fired up witcher 3 and noticed my graphics settings tab is gone and i cant see what i am running is this normal?
Not normal. I misspoke at 3:18, so make sure you changed the same settings I changed on screen. "Enable DLSS-SR" override and "Override DLSS-RR preset."
@heartofbattle ill give this a shot did you notice looks like there is a new dlss 310.2.1 in the dlss swapper should we download that and use it?
@@DannyG6.4 Noticed it last night. I'm using that updated version now.
@heartofbattle hmmm i did all the steps correctly and yeah witcher 3 graphics setting tab is gone idk if it's cause I use mods and it's interfering or I did notice there was a new dlss swapper version not sure if its a must to update it every time 🤷🏽
why does it say DLSSv3 tho?
does this work for newest frame gen and RR too?
same question, nobody is explaining how to enable the updated single frame gen for 40 series, in the Nvida APP is showing grayed out in all my games that already supported DLSS frame gen
i have rtx 3060 ti, i tried exactly the ways in your video, and the games shown the version used is 310.2.1 which is the latest, to be honest I didnt get any much perf increase, just lower vram usage and maybe better image quality only on Quality mode dlss level. Did I made anything wrong?!
Different games may look and perform differently depending on which preset you're using. This isn't necessarily for a performance increase. J seems a bit sharper than K but K is supposed to have less artifacting. It can differ between games and come down to personal preference.
@heartofbattle how do I change between presets?
@@aboelrouk If you want to try Preset J, switch to 0x0000000A instead of 0x0000000B.
@ Thanks a lot man
000A is not listed@@heartofbattle
already followed the steps and there's still no preset K. max is J on nvidia app.
REad the description:
Preset K = 0x0000000B
@Faded_0022 yeah. But its not available on Nvidia app?
It said max j? Or i should just let it be latest?
Don't have DLSS 3.1.11 in the Common section, Do I need a file or something to enable it?

@@TheSelleycopter i'm still confused, how do i access my inspector directory
Dlss option is not avaible in inspector. I am running a RTX 3070 and using the latest nv drivers and latest insepctor
Have you copied the XML in the description to Inspector's folder?
Wait it's possible to enable frame Gen for 20 and 30 series cards?!!
@@heartofbattlewhich is the inspector folder? The that one i extract?
i am missing settings dlss 3.1.11+

Nvidia inspector doesn't even open up, and I have the latest Nvidia official update
are there any workarounds, or it's something else, or it's better to wait that games officially run DLSS 4 because there are almost none games in my NVIDIA app that allows me to change DLSS settings.
Have you tried to run it as administrator? Could be Windows Defender or another anti-virus false flagging it.
do you know how to fix nvidia wont open always error? reinstall restart 100x it wont work. maybe you know something. tnx
That I'm not sure about. You can try using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely uninstall the Nvidia App and driver, then reinstall the latest version.
Used Revo uninstaller to fully uninstall it and remove all left over files. After installed new verions of nvidia app and it started working.
2 Questions:
You'll still want to enable DLSS in game, this is just changing the DLSS model the game is using :)
why didnt you override all 3 DLSS options ? RR SR and FG ?
all of these need to be overidden as they all follow the same concept. any ideas ?
Doesnt work on stsr wars outlaws there was no update from ubi
Don't enable it Globally.. the change can potentially cause issues in some online games, and lead to bans. Also, for most games, you don't actually need to change the DLL files. Forcing the new presets in nvidia inspector will force it to use the most up to date driver that is stored within the nvidia driver files themselves instead of the game files. Some games still require you to update the files though for some reason. (Preset K is actually DLSS version 310.2, but it's in a bin file in the nvidia corp folder in programdata)
So if we enable it globally, force it to use the files stored within the nvidia drivers, we won't have to risk bans?
@@Rainbowsaur the problem is injection.. so unless nvidia officially offers it, don't enable it in games that you could risk in a ban in.
None of these will lead to bans, at best the game wouldn't boot. The DLLs are signed by Nvidia.
@@Vicric yea? And the DLLs that people manually swapped out were also _signed by nvidia_ and they were banned. It's about file changes. Some anti-cheats are more strict than others about file modification.
@@Vicric Classic last words by someone who gets banned.
can i use dlss override on 566.36?
What DLSS setting you have to choose in game ?
Whichever suits your needs.
overlay is not showing on my pc though
I take it that it is OK to just use Inspector and change all the settings you said (I've downloaded the file and xml) then no need to mess with DLSS swapper or do I have to download that programme aswell?
You still need to replace the specific game’s DLSS file with the newer DLSS4 version. You can always download the DLSS file and put it in the game’s appropriate directory manually. DLSS Swapper just makes it a bit easier.
@@heartofbattle Thanks for the quick reply and appreciate the video mate
Hmm I do not see any DLSS 3.1.... in "Common" section in Nvidia Profile Inspector. Any advice how can I fix it?
Download the XML from the description and place it in Inspector's directory. If they still don't show up, you may need to uninstall/reinstall the latest driver.
@@heartofbattle thanks, will do. I also noticed that every single game I see in Nvidia app has "Unable to retrieve settings, please try again later." Not sure if this needs addressing before I can follow your tutorial?
@ Anyways I got the settings available now after adding xml file. Thanks.
@ Glad to hear. The Nvidia app is just for supported games. You actually don't need it at all for the rest of the tutorial.
If you do not mind, very last question: How in this setup I can switch between Performance/quality/balanced settings for DLSS?
If I understand correctly this method overrides anything I set for DLSS in game settings so I can no longer control the level of upscaling there.

Can I enable the DLSS-FG too?
