A mercury mechanic told me that easing that model into gear is bad for them. They are designed to be shifted into gear quickly. There is no grinding when shifted quickly.
Push it in gear faster. You don’t slip a merk into gear. It grinds shift dogs. Pop into gear fast. That’s how those motors are. Nothing wrong with it. It’s the driver.
lol those gears are perfect lol. You have to learn how tro put an outboard in gear. you do it all at once, not slow grinding movements. Just slap it in.
Need a kill switch lanyard. Those seat backs probably only have plywood sheet & foam, may not last too long sitting on them. Purchased a [Mercury fuel line assembly 9 ft ] at Marine shop for my 184 Champ - Merc 175 EFI (65 GPS).
just out of curiosity... Just what do you think pumping the throttle lever is doing for you? It is a two stroke, it does not have injection or any such thing. You have a fuel delivery problem at 30 min in.
I didn't see it pumping water out the back. Need a new impeller. Get a new gas line assembly that will help too . I kept bogging down and once I replaced the fuel line assembly it runs flawlessly. I also put Berrymans fuel treatment in my gas as well

If you need seats, cover etc contact Deans top canvas. They have the original build sheet for that boat. If ya need windshields C&O marine ask for Mark Talbot
I'd change that fuel line. Put some regular fuel line from the auto parts store and ditch that gray "marine" fuel line. The inside of that will collapse and restrict fuel flow. Probably need to replace the fuel bulb also.
Get rid of the gray fuel line and use regular fuel line.. and fresh fuel.. that gray fuel line is junk it has a sleeve inside that clasps and starves it of fuel
Looking like you got your self a bargain good stuff 👍👍👍 I got my self a 1991 22ft Concorde with a 200hp back max for free about 6 mouth's ago that old motor run really good it was lifting the hole boat out of the water on plane but the old motor is a extreme alcoholic i only took the boat out one's on a test run it drank so much fuel it run out on my way home 80 litre in about 45 minutes at $2 a litre here in Queensland Australia and the 2 stroke oil is $50 for a 4 little bottle , I ripped off that old black max and gave it away , I found my self a 1999 225hp Tohatsu 4 stroke for $5000 two weeks ago now Im just waiting for the new hydraulic steering to arrive Im pretty sure 80 litres with the new motor should get me to the reef and back probably twice or maybe even three times fingers crossed 🤞 😂

Change your fuel filter and also check the screen on the pick-up tube in your tank. Same thing happened to me, it was the screen.

So the silver vents on the boat do they really do any good? Does air flow in and out of them and keep things dryer?
I’ll have to look but probably to vent the bulge and prevent fumes from building up. BOOM 💥 protection 🤣

This, I had this happen last month.
One of the fuel diagram had a small hole in it. The kit was like 26$.
Clean them carbs don't forget the high flow areas. Make sure the tank is venting properly. Let her eat.
