@@justinealice8632 heck no never join a travel agency that sends you a zoom link. It's basically an MLM which is something they recruit people to join just so they can get paid. Outside agency is a great one to join, its the cheapest monthly coast, because on one zoom their gonna give you a bunch of info on recruiting, not about booking clients at all. But outside agents you just pay your $26 or $46 a month and get all the training you need. the zooms are gonna make you pay $100-$300 a month.
You don’t provide them with maps? How do you know you can trust the info you find on the internet? How do you know what to charge? Profit margins?
I love the mock booking strategy.
I’ve wanted to do that for a while. I see people being travel agents for a living and I’d love to do that. But I’ve never tried. I think I’m scared of failing, I don’t know how to it, where to start. And selling cruises and Disney isn’t my thing. I like road trip and all but never seen a travel agent doing that. I’m a bit lost 🤯
I was scared at first too because I was completely new, but everyone I work with is SO helpful and always willing to answer questions. We do way more than cruises and Disney!

Hi Ciarra! I had a few questions about the mock trip. When you do a mock trip and have specific dates how are you sure it won't get booked before you have clients interested? I am looking to start my travel agent career!
Usually resorts have multiple rooms available and if they don’t then I can just change dates when someone reaches out to me
I have worked in travel and hospitality industry entire life. I've always wanted to become a travel agent and not just a reservation sales agent. However, I think the fear of working in a commission only job scares me.
How did you get past that? If you had that same fear of commission only jobs.
How many hours a week do you work? Can you do this passively?
I work about 5 hours a day, sometimes more, sometimes less. I started part time and eventually was able to do this full time!
Ive been digging into this line of work trying to decide if it could be an option for me. But i dont have any experience traveling. I do have a passion for finding locations and always been draw to that line of work but if i dont want to take fam trips overseas can i still have a business or is it best to stop wasting time. Or can you get by with just doing usa trips.

If I received that email as a client I probably wouldn't read it. Far to much info for a client...
Then I guess you would be clueless about your trip. If you’re too lazy to read an email about where to go and what to do in a place you’ve never been after asking me for help, you probably don’t make a very good client. If I said I didn’t want to read through all hotel/airline/rental car policies, contracts, and everything else, clients wouldn’t book with me - I hold my clients to the same standard. I want to make sure my clients are 100% aware of ANYTHING that could happen, any extra charges they may incur, etc. so there are no surprises when they get there. It’s literally my job to give them all the information prior so they aren’t left to figure it out in their own.
Because I did that lengthy email, that client decided it would be better for them to go on that trip at another time since she would have been the only one driving and it was a very lengthy trip, so they decided to go somewhere with easier access to activities and attractions with less people.
