I heard the audible hum too and it's a small price to pay to see and hear the inimitable Wally Harper and the sui generis Barbara Cook perform in 1994 one of the tenderest songs on the planet.
The “useless” theme seems to run through her later songbook. I hope that isn’t the way she thought of herself. But considering her alcoholism, I suppose it may have been. Makes you want to be her best friend.
Pure class! Memory of love... Tears in my eyes. Thank you for being
i lost my mum in 2017...i hope she can hear barbara singing wherever they both are...
Just glorious! There's nobody better than Barbara Cook!💖
One of the greatest ever. So sorely missed
A near-perfect song rendered perfectly by perhaps the only person on earth who could have done it better than its author.
I had never heard this song before....very touching.
Beautiful!!
