- Hi everyone! In this video I would like to talk about the crochet blankets that I stole.
Just before the start of the CAL I want to show you the blankets I have that my Grandma Anna made me and my kids! I even stole a few! Don't tell my ex! Mum's the word! ;-)

Ophelia Talks The poncho looks to me like it might be motifs joined together. The doillie would be started in the middle with the circle. Should be easy to count the stitches to follow from there.
Your grandma was a talented woman!! She created different borders and really put some time into her blankets 😊 How cool that you have those from her.
Your grandma’s blankets are a proper treat to look at. I loved all the love that went into them and how cherished they are today. TFS

They are to precious to be stored in a shed . Shame on who ever put them there. You should be thankful those olden times . She was very talented and did all that with out tutorials and patterns she probably didn’t have . Very talented . Your very blessed to have the treasures.
You need a bookcase to display the beautiful blankets so you can see them every day. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sharing your Grandma's beautiful blankets and memories with us Anja. She was obviously very talented, intelligent and creative. (Guess it runs in the family). Can't wait to start on our CAL and begin creating some new memories, for all of us and our families. PS am doing your enclosed border on my Scrap/Orla Kiely inspired blanket for my daughter... Queen bed size. It's really challenging, but also very enjoyable. All your efforts are making this difficult time more enjoyable! A hardy thank you for all your work!
You are very lucky to have your Grandmother's crocheted blankets. It is apparent that you cherish them. Your children are lucky to have blankets as reminders of her as well. The ones with the stars are so pretty. Your pram blanket, it is so pretty! So is your doll blanket! Wow. More. One treasure after another. The green blanket and the different colors border. I have not seen anything like that. Now, you can keep that tradition going with some of your crocheted blankets. What a fun video. Thank you for sharing your Grandmother's blankets and extra special pieces with us.
What beautiful blankets and what talent your grandmother had! Thank you for honoring us with a glimpse of her work and also for your sentiments for her by keeping all her hard work. Too many times, now a days, folks don't seem to want to keep family heirlooms and you see all that talent in Goodwill stores! Sad.

Washing blanket in gentle detergent made for wools is necessary,as the dirt and grime will eat the fibre.
My aunt had a box full of crochet work which was left alone for 2-3yrs after her death and it was ultimately eaten by worms and moths!!
Cleaning the fibre increases its life and strengthens it.Excellent work by your grandmother,lovingly crocheted for you all.Lucky you!

Anja, i just love your Grandma's blankets! what a treasure they are! my Grandma crocheted also, and she taught me when i was about 13. i dont have any crocheted blankets from her, but i gave some quilts that she made and some that my great-grandma made! i have made so many crocheted blankets...i just gifted one to one of my grandsons for his birthday. i have lost count of how many ive made! i taught my daughter-in-law and one of my daughters and a couple of friends to crochet, as well. my best friend (of almost 40 years) and i crochet many blankets and teach eachother patterns all the time! it is such a wonderful fellowship and sharing, isnt it? i hope my children and grandchildren will treasure the blankets i made them with the love i put into every stitch! sorry for such a long post! You can wash them in woolite which is very gentle and great for wool. Use cool water and let them soak. It’s an excellent product. Beautiful blankets and memories of your grandmother 💖

You're grandmum was a very special lady!! She was VERY talented and obviously always busy making blankets for everyone!! I absolutely LOVE the pattern of the "baby block" blankets . Thomas's is blue and white. Rachel's is pink and white I believe. I just adore that pattern!! Your grandmum did as well it seems! 😁 Do you have tutorial for that stitch, or plans to make one??? I love love love all the blankets! Especially adore the baby squares. I'd like to try this sometime.
I live in Israel. It's anywhere from warm to hot-as-heck 8 months out of the year.. we do have cold(ish) winters but in general we just don't use yarny blankets too much. I have made some for family and friends, especially baby blankets, and a couple for us but there isn't much of a demand other than that. It's so sad for me.

Ok, those window pane filet blankets, with the fringe, are SO FABULOUS! I'd love to recreate those!
You might need to look at those and make a video recreating that design. Either that or film it closely and slowly so we can all copy it. LOL

I love seeing all the blankets your grandmother made! My grandmother also made so many, a blanket, sweater, cap and bootie set for each of my 5 children and very sadly with all my moving I only have been able to keep several of her table scarves. They are indeed Treasurs to keep.

So lovely all those blanket memories ‼️ In 2019 I started making afghans to use up stash. I've had hand and wrist issues and finger surgery,,but now I'm raring to "GET MY CROCHET ON" 😎

I love the green and cream blankets, especially the baby block one. So pretty. How lovely that all her work is cherished by her granddaughter. I love the star blocks too, such great pops of colour. As for the two stranded, funnily enough I'm just getting into doing that, maybe because my eyes aren't so great, let alone my age lol.
