Guns are NOT toys. I had a hunting license when I was 13 years old (really - California - 1951) and I had sense enough to know that guns were not playthings.

@@amityblight1960 Yeah, I went to sleep one night and when I woke up I was 84. My grandsons gave me socks that say I'm a "badass grandpa". But, really, I'm a smartass grandpa. You can get away with a lot when you're old.
The hunting stopped back in 1951 when my dad died in a work accident. I learned to hunt with him and his friends; deer hunting in Northern California. When he was gone I lost interest. I took my own son fishing in the nearby lake and ocean but not hunting.

An ex friend of mine and her twin sister put animal poop in a cookie and fed it to teachers. I was told it was a “joke” (yes I wasn’t very smart in middle school) and went along with it. They got caught and we where all told to eat the cookie to prove there was nothing in them. They let me eat it. I know I am not completely innocent in this situation, but who tf does that?!
I have a family that’s big on hunting animals to eat and having guns just for protection. Ever since I can remember, the MOST important rule about guns is to treat each one like it is real and loaded. That means no pointing it at people if you think it’s unloaded. That means not leaving it lying around instead of a case. It’s tragic how many ppl die bc they don’t handle guns properly and with care.
In junior high, I heard of a girl in my district who had friends over, and they had a gun. They were playing around and taking selfies. Accidentally went off. She didn’t make it.
I substitute the word negligent in place of accidental discharge when talking about guns.
Yes! I don't hunt but i live in an area where hunting is very common so we actually learned this in elementary school
First story: drinking and firearms don’t mix. This moron deserves to be in jail. Second story: no one should have stayed friends with that potential r*p*st. He actively tried more than once to get at a girl who was too intoxicated to know what was happening. Third story: stupidity is rampant. Fourth story: terrible person. Fifth story: this is only going to get worse as the child gets older. Father needs therapy now. Sixth story: betrayal comes in many forms. Seventh story: she’s stupid. Eighth story: two idiots. Ninth story: ex was a terrible person. Infidelity is not small. It’s huge. Tenth story: that was a horrible case of potential animal abuse. Eleventh story: potential psychopaths. Twelfth story: contributing to infidelity is as bad if not worse than infidelity itself.
I gotta go to bed, but I'm watching this instead lmao

Story 2: that young woman is so lucky to have friends like the OP, if they trusted the other guy to take her home, he definitely would've sexually assaulted her. What makes this story much creepier is that he snuck into the dorm and tried to go into her room. I wonder what happened to him after the fallout
Story two is why I have a hard time trusting guys… you here stories about it happening so often it’s hard believing that there’s good guy out there
it be the ones you're closest to that hurt you the most, it's honestly sad how people abuse the friendship just to harm you when you least expect it
Third story: He's a terrible person. That poor driver is traumatized. Imagine if he'd been hurt -they would face criminal chargds.
For the bat story. I would cry then (years later) fight my brother and call him out on that. Never for the rest of his life live it down. The same for the neighbor.

well, this isn't about me but my best friend. She was friendly with this guy, but she didn't know he was planning to shoot up the school. They found his list and everything. He didn't get to do it, but she remembers him warning her not to come to school the next day. This was a 'gifted' school, btw.
I really don't understand Americans obssession with firearms?! I never even saw a gun irl, I can't imagine keeping it in the house (especially if there's children there!)
As an American I don't get it either. I really don't plan on owning a gun any time soon

Everyday on the news downtown in a city that's an hour and a half from me it's buildings or people on the street getting shot up. What does our government do? "We should ban assault weapons from being manufactured here." Drugs are illegal yet they're steal smuggled and sold here💀
If anything you should redress that right to bare arms amendment or go back to the good times where you had to have a license to own a gun I shouldn't see ads around my area from these undercover family businesses turning out to be gun shops that most definitely have been giving their family, buddies, family's buddies, the *I gotchu* discount

When you have a gun, the first rule, basically the Hippocratic Oath of guns, is to treat every gun like it's loaded with a live round and the safety is off. Even if you think the round is blank, you do not point it at someone, let alone pull the trigger. A blank round can still very much kill someone for any number of reasons, you shouldn't point one at anyone, let alone at their *head.* I'm surprised he didn't nearly kill anyone sooner.
And also, what the heck kind of prank is making someone genuinely fear for their life? Especially when you are *actively risking their life for a joke*
Playing with guns. Stupid for sure. I am not a "gun person" as such so the occasions I have used/handled one the ammo stays out unless I am going to fire it and its not getting pointed around. But, even sometimes those that should know better get into trouble...
Couple years ago, my sisters inlaws were visiting her house and they all went to a shooting range to shoot at targets. Afterwards, for reasons unclear, the FIL is doing something in the TV room at sister's house with his pistol and shoots a bullet into the wall. Nobody got hurt but for sure it was an issue!
What baffles me is the FIL was a retired US Marine vet from the Vietnam war era and had spent time in battle and should have known better how to handle a weapon compared to random civilians.

The story about the kittens and the story about the bat are illegal btw because they would both fall under animal cruelty both the abandonment and the torture/mutilation of animals is highly illegal i would have called the police in both situations
