That's a beauty, and I see the pride of ownership you have to have owned her.

My mother sold her fair share of Hatteras and Grand Banks in Sausalito, CA, during the 1980’s and early 90’s. She owned a 32’ Grand Banks. This brings back a lot of memories. She would have loved this boat.

I think all the older boats have such better profiles. The newer boats look like a Clorox bottle laid on it's side with no entertainment area on the bow and not much on the aft-deck. Back in the 90's I was looking at purchasing a Grand Banks, I love their classic lines. Your mother obviously had a great since of style and class I'm glad you commented on her behalf, God bless you both.

@@HenryDail-910 Thank you. I went on a few sea trials with her in the San Francisco Bay.
She started in brokerage sailboats, and her ended at Frazier. She knew those boats backwards and forwards. I loved the Grand Banks’ chine bow. You could always spot one.

Two of my favorite yacht manufacturers, particularly the Hatteras 53' (here) and the GB East Bay 42' (especially with FB). Known for the quality of design, construction and seaworthiness. The other great boat builder, whose designs I never liked as much: Uniflite. What ever happened to them?

Hatteras is the only cruiser I will own. I have a 1968 38DC with factory hard top and wet bar. The only one ever made. My boat is bulletproof. The didn't know how much fiberglass the boats would need in the beginning, so my hull is 3 times the thickness they are made with today. Also, all hardwood inside nothing synthetic.Even my ice maker still works, and both original air conditioners! I want one like yours or longer. Great yachts!

Thanks for your comment Jay. My boat is hull #4, It was built in High Point NC, in 1969 then shipped to New Bern where the Fly bridge was added. I have a close friend who worked in the plant and he told me the same thing about how thick the hull was, by not knowing the longevity of fiberglass (fairly new at that time). My first day on the boat was in Lake Ontario and late afternoon ended up in 12 to 15 ft seas on my way to Oswego NY. That heavy hull design saved our lives. Being over built might make for a slower speed but safety was never compromised.

They say the happiest days of boat ownership is the day you buy the boat and the day you sell it!

Yep and that would normally be true except the sale of Princess Jodie was somewhat sad for me. I raised my kids on her and used her every weekend as a beach house. But all good things come to an end. I'm happy knowing the new owner (Paul) will take care of her as I have, he seems to be a great guy and loves the boat and that means a lot.

I've always said the people who say that are the people that don't own a boat. Great video, fortunately my boats have always gone to family members so I never had to say good bye. This was truly a sad moment and you showed it well.

Thank you so much. If you're selling a piece of junk or one that has a lot of ongoing problems, It probably would be a happy occasion. But in my case, my boat has been well cared for and has gained beauty as she aged. I'm happy to see someone own her who appreciates her classic lines and Paul (the new owner) seems to be a perfect fit. I wish him the best of luck and maybe some day I'll come and visit.

Donald Trump is a con man and it looks like you've been conned. Nice boat though.
