    Thank you so much amberlypettey!! Your video guided me thru this repair!! Our choir is rehearsing for a spring concert. Our KR-575 had a second hammer break. I fixed it easily with your info. about using the rarely used hammers on the ends! Thanks for taking the time to record and post this helpful video!!

    Hi and Gruezi from Switzerland, your video is amazing and so helpful. Thank you so much; it helped me to repair the broken hammers twice after my enthusiastic grandchildren used too much force... I wish you and your family a happy Xmas time, best wishes, Raphael (Dec. 2023)

    Amberly, thx for the very clear video. You helped me repair my Roland KR-570 right away, as I had a broken key hammer (the plastic apparently is known to crack over time). I just super-glued the plastic back onto the hammer and let the super glue wick into the space between the plastic and the metal as well - other TH-cams repairing these Roland KR series key hammers said that worked just fine. I weighed the hammers after applying super glue and couldn't tell any difference in the weight. I saved tons of money and time and most important, my wife can play again right away and no delay to her lessons. FYI, if you want to buy new key hammers instead of just super-glue-ing a broken key hammer, the Roland part numbers for white key is 04671289 and black key is 04671290, that fits a whole lot of the Roland Digital pianos. Google the part number and you should be able to find a vendor. Thanks again!

    Thank you for making this super helpful video! Was planning to haul the piano to a certified Roland repair shop 2 hours away from where I live (a production in itself since I don't own a truck). The repair shop quoted me a minimum of $160 just to diagnose the problem and price goes up from there to fix the broken parts. Thanks to your very clear instructions, I was able to get to the two broken key hammers, repair them using epoxy, took two good hammers from the left most keys and swapped their locations so that the repaired hammers are now under keys that don't get used often. Your video just saved me all the hassle and cost of using a repair shop. Much appreciated!!!

      Same! I tried the local certified Roland piano shop and they say they won't fix it due to difficulty finding parts. I'm so glad I gave some new life for the piano for me and the kids to use.

    I can’t thank you enough for posting this video. I just finished repairing my daughter’s KR-575. I would never have figured out how to do this on my own. Your video made it a really easy job. Thanks!

    Hey Amberly - thanks indeed for the clear video. It shows how to get to the key mechanism. I repaired some of the keys with epoxy, let's see how long this will hold. But as I read from some of the comments, if you order replacement mechanisms you get exactly the same without any improvements on the design or used materials. So that would also not be of much help longer time. Great video!

    Wow thank you so much for posting this video. My local chain music store would not be able to fix it due to old model/hard to find parts. I am gonna try to tackle this for my dropped key and move it to the end . Will update you once I tried out !

      Wow I followed your instructions and have the broken hammer plastics repositioned and glued. Then I moved it to the lowest keys as suggested. I can use it fully now thank you! On inspection most of the hammers have some minor cracks on them pity it's a widespread issue for this model.

    Amberly, I want to thank you for this video. My daughter use this piano (KR-575) daily as she is learning. I couldn’t find help anywhere since it is outdated piano. Your video not only gave me confidence that you can do it but also gave me a community who have similar piano.

    Just confirming that my epoxy repair seems to be working perfectly. You just have to make sure not to overdo it on the epoxy, because the clearance to get the mechanism back in place is very tight 🙂

    Thank you!! I could not get any spare parts here in Singapore , but I was able to shift the hammers around so that the frequently used parts of the keyboard could be used once again. If you know where I can get such parts here in Southeast Asia please let me know. Thank you once again!!!

    I treat all my 88 hammer keys with super glue it's like a mighty bond but stronger than mighty bond. I directly put it on the hole part and it easily penetrate in the metal weight hammer part :) My piano is Roland HP 335 almost same with kr 575 and yours and i think my piano is 8 years old now the but still hammers are intact no broken hammer keys :) i extended the life span :) you can try it to avoid replacing hammer keys in the future :)
    I think this is one of the bad thing made by roland . The hammer keys get easily cracks and broke :( That's why i treated my hammers before it breaks. :)

      Great idea! I've spent over $100 on replacements so may try to glue it first. All about saving money! Thanks for the input!

    This is a great instructional video for replacing keys. Can you please tell me where I can order them? I am having mine go out about 2-3 at a time so I would actually like to replace all of them at one time, then keep the ones on my piano now for spares. Any info you can give me regarding places to order these keys would be greatly appreciated. Thank again!

    • @amberlypettey
      @amberlypettey  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Full Compass is where I've ordered them recently. However, you will need to call them directly as it is not on their website.

      Update: They only have black keys available now. If you find another place for the white keys, let me know! They no longer sell the white keys:(

    Amber, is there still a place where we can get replacement hammers?

    • @amberlypettey
      @amberlypettey  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is very hard to find nowadays. My new way of “fixing” the hammer is by taping it together.
      It seems to be working for me as I haven’t been able to find a place either in the last year or two.

    Just a heads up, your title says KR57 but your piano is a kr570... Which is what I needed...
