    You are incredibly patient with all those keys. Nice work! I purchased an FP-10 in November and already a few of the keys seem to have a 'click sensation' felt occasionally (but not always) when the key is struck (pressed) in a song. This is disconcerting for a keyboard this new to be exhibiting any inconsistencies among keys. Like most things, the older versions probably held up better.

    Hey, I've got a Roland EP-7 that has numerous sticky keys because of exposure to a humid basement. Was going to throw it out, but now it looks like it might be reparable thanks to your video.

      This is exactly why I make my videos! I'm no expert, but I believe we should all make an effort to repair things. Even if you don't fix it, you'll learn a lot through the process of trying. thanks for the comment

    Today I learned that as much as watching pianos destroyed makes me feel ill inside, watching pianos be repaired has the opposite effect! :3

    Where did you get the felt. I cannot find it... Roland Canada says they no longer supply. Or manufacture it

    • @jonbell78
      @jonbell78  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I got it from Amazon.com, but I can't remember, it's been a while. You don't need to get the exact felt (even if it was available I wouldn't use it, that was the issue from the beginning). The felt is cheap and does change the "feel" of the keys a bit so purchase a few different types and see what you like best. You can also search for "weather strip" it is a similar material that is usually synthetic and might give a softer feel to the keys.

    a keyboard player would have moved the low notes UP... near the top.. THOSE notes don't get played very often... but otherwise.. good hunt and peck approach to fixing things.. . where did you source the felts? Syntaur seems to have some felts sometimes.. but kurzweil product is so hard to get parts for.. any ideas would be helpful..

    • @jonbell78

      Open it up. It's usually not too difficult to figure out what is wrong. Be clean, neat, and organized as you work. Maybe take a video so you can review it later if you forget how it came apart. Going luck
