This video got me in the right direction. So I got a Asus mobo that was serviced and had defaulted to probably the first version of bios ever lol. Literally 2004 but anyway I got passed this issue. No ports were damaged on my mobo or case. Not sure what I did what but I fixed my issue by (Have a USB with latest bios ready) 1. Make sure your CPU cooler isn’t too tight 2. Make sure your mobo is seated correctly in case. 3. Reset CMOS by removing the battery or by using something metal(screwdriver is fine) to touch the 2pin CLRTC connector on mobo for 10seconds. DO NOT HAVE PC TURNED ON while touching the pins. 3. Disconnect all your computer case connectors EXCEPT for the ones that allow you to power on the PC and MoBo. Then turn on your pc. I fished it out with tweezers, but can't seem to fix the problem. Is there any fix before I yank the USB cord out of my motherboard? Will that disable all USB ports in the front panel, or only the faulty one?

So, I have a NZXT h500i case and one of the front usbs is broken, and I got the reboot screen, how would I fix this? Do I get a new case? Motherboard? Or what? Please help.
I currently have this problem and I checked everything that I researched and nothing helped. Weird thing is that sometimes it will boot up like normal and when I restart, it starts again. Initially it would leave it alone for a few hours and the problem will go away but lately I would have to leave it for a few days before I can get into it again. Last thing I have to try is a BIOS update to see if that would fix it. I tried another Motherboard and it booted every time so the problem is the motherboard.

THANK YOU, I had the IO shield in the wrong way, and a flap of metal got caught inside the type c connector, it arked to my usb male on my keyboard and the pc shut off, I thought I fried the board but nope! I didnt even think of that thanks much man!!!
I'll add I figured this out for the ASUS motherboard I was dealing with... it had no cables or USB devices plugged in, and all its rear USB ports were in fine shape. There was no legitimate over-current. The trouble was the BIOS itself. It had been flashed to the wrong model version -- it was an OEM version of the P8H67-M PRO board, made for the Essentio CG8350. It had missing front USB headers -- and their current-protection components were also missing. Flashing the full BIOS on there (not the OEM one) made it look for those sensors, and assumed a fault. Flashing back to the CG8350 backup and it works fine!
@@isaacharmeyer2918 I didn't get into the bios. I couldn't. I did this all with an external flasher... which... I suppose is a bit of a big problem if you don't have that :( It might be possible to trick it into working if you "hotwire" some of the missing parts for the missing front USB port header on the board... Other than that, yeah, wow, this can be a really crappy dead end.

unpluged everyting and no usb port is damaged but the problem is still there , i tried clearing cmos and the computer was already in use not new anyone help??
And I keep getting this message even though I don't have anything plugged in except power and screen. I have recently changed the case, but when the guy in the shop starts the computer it boots up like nothing, and when I get it home this error pops up. My USB ports are checked and they have no damage.
Same happened to me. Please help.
OMG. Thank you for your help. So my keyboard and mouse USB on the back was not working. So I moved do a different USB connector. Now I'm good to go
perhaps first check the USB device or more devices and than check the cable connection great video
As long as you resolve the issue it don't really matter where you start.
THANK YOU, I had the IO shield in the wrong way, and a flap of metal got caught inside the type c connector, it arked to my usb male on my keyboard and the pc shut off, I thought I fried the board but nope! I didnt even think of that thanks much man!!!

@@danielhowell8128 YES MAN, I was about to return my MOBO loool
Thanks for the video! Quickly saved me a lot of trouble! (The top usb port had been damaged so I disconnected it from the mb)
My usb on the front of the pc was damaged and I fixed the pins and we’re good to go thanks!
Thank you. My usb port was damaged. I bent some pins and it fixed the problem.
This video is helped me a lot! The problem is fixed thanks so much !
So what i do now my usb port is completely broken, how do i fix it or delete it?
Matt Falcon how did you get into the bios if this screen pops up right away
@@isaacharmeyer2918 I didn't get into the bios. I couldn't. I did this all with an external flasher... which... I suppose is a bit of a big problem if you don't have that :( It might be possible to trick it into working if you "hotwire" some of the missing parts for the missing front USB port header on the board... Other than that, yeah, wow, this can be a really crappy dead end.
this video was just what i was looking for, thank you
THANK YOU SO MUCH I WAS SO SCARED I BROKE MY PC 🥰
Try checking all the wires guys should be plugged properly and it worked for me👍
Unplugged both USB 3 and USB 2 THANK YOU FOR HELP
What do I do when a motherboard usb is damaged?
Thanks a millin times man. It's now running again to windows cause of your help and guidance. It should take me a thousand bucks to get it right in hands of a mean gready Repairman
Thank you pal, ☺️🌹
So I had my mouse smoking, is that a reason why it did that function alert?
LOL had this error on the last day of my holidays. BTW the only one only for me.
He said: Check broken parts
Me checking the first: broken part inside
Problem solved, thanks for help 🎉
I think my problem doesn't lie on the USB plug but rather on the device cause when I disconnect my keyboard my computer works but if I reconnect it, it will shutdown. What do you suggest?
