Hey everyone. Sam's mum here. Just wanted to say thanks for all the lovely comments. I have one very happy (and very lucky!) 9 year old boy. I know you're already big fans of Tony's but what he did for Sam, not only in agreeing to be involved in his 'Around the World' project but then sending him the special addition to his collection, is utterly amazing. We are all really grateful.
P.S. Commander Hedland has settled into his new home and he and Sam are already working on plans for a range of daring missions to complete over the coming weeks!
Fantastic to know that Sam is carrying on the love that we had for our little friend's when we were his age. I still have a collection of action men and even at my ripe old age I still take them on little adventures now and again 😊 my number one Rob Oily says to tell Sam hello.

Well done to the young man for reading classic Verne Stories and great to see that kind of imagination still exists in this "things that go Ping!" society today. It actually made me cry remembering my youth in the 70's. Nice one.
What an amazing story, you're a good man Tony. Considering the relative lack of action figures in toy aisles compared to previous decades it makes me happy to see a young kid get so much joy out of an action figure, and a vintage one at that.👏

I got my first action man in 1972. Funnily enough, I called him Sam. His body was broken decades ago but I still have his head.

This is a great video Tony, and it's so great to see a young lad have a creative mind, and interest in a classic book, interest in vintage toylines, and to see how it's triggered his imagination. Who says da yoof of today are broken! :) Especially in this digital "everything on-demand" age, it's wonderful to see more "practical" forms of entertainment and creativity are thriving regardless of generation.
