She is an amazing horsewoman. Always stroking calming and talking to him
Wow! First time I have seen both horses acting up. The guards are fantastic with them!
Great horsemanship from the guards , these beautiful horses must get fed up with being poked and prodded constantly. I don't blame him/her for not wanting to go out with all the visiors.
This guard is wonderful. She seems to have a great rapport with the horses. I love how she continues to talk to and stroke the horse and calms it down.
It's a man not a woman
@@sarandongapichibiripichibi5171 No it was a woman
Putting up the bit wrong is not great rapport.
I think the horse (female)
is young, or at the beginning of her service. Its also a mare ;)
I must say hpow they handle the horse to calm it down melts my heart the love and respect the guard has for the horse . I might be an American , but I have mad respect for the military . damn horse is calm and the guard was great . total control love it
The Guards have phenomenal skill handling these horses. I can't help wondering what made both horses freak out at the same time it really bothers me that so many people crowd the horses and don't give them time to calm down. Honestly, I really wish tourists were kept away from the Guards and the horses.
They can get startled so quickly. Would have been a disaster if tourists had been in that area
Me too! (everything you said!)
They said it was the wind
A whistle
Only the rude ones ,though
This female guard is a fantastic girl she knows how to calm her horse down bless you girl you do a brilliant job👍👍👍👍
I think this young officer handled things perfectly it shows the great pride and connection of horse and rider. What an honor to be part of the guard keeping tradition alive.
I firmly believe that the horses are rebelling against being poked and prodded, animals like humans if tormented enough will react eventually. Perhaps it is time to restrict visitors from being too near the horses. The guards do a brilliant job as do the horses, they do not deserve to be treated in this manner. Sorry about the rant.
I agree the horses must feel so stressed about all these tourists that doesn't get that they are real working animals
I agree. Tourists think they are visiting Disney and do not show any respect to either the Guards or the horses. Time to install barriers to keep the touchy-feely away from them!
Spot on, on your suggestions!!!
On another video of this same incident, one of the Guardsman said it was the wind blowing a paper in the face and swirling around the feet. And I do agree with too many hands!!
Totally agree. Wouldn't want someone on my face all day. Verging.on being cruel
❤😂
Horse is getting its tongue over the bit!
I noticed that too! I think they’re tack might be the issue
Both horses reacting is very unusual. The only thing I heard was the high pitched whistle. They can hear very well. That may have bothered them. Great riding gents
The gorgeous horse just says”nope, not playing today”.
Kudos to the rider who handled that brilliantly! Nicely done
I totally agree with you wholeheartedly
Trooper handled that brilliantly. She was so calm and the horse obviously trusts her.
"She?"
It's fabulous to see how the horses are calmed down. Great 😊❤
Amazing horsemanship
WOW both horses freaking out 😮😮
That would be me every day if I had to face those tourists. Kudos to the rider.
To be able to control a horse one handed just shows how well these guards are trained. I would have definitely had to drop the sword ❤
I often rode my mare one-handed (without a sword🤪) but on the few occasions she reacted to something (like a barking dog on a garage roof) I would immediately without thinking hold both hands on the reins. So yes I also would have dropped the sword. They have amazing control and skills these young riders and their horses have a lot of faith in their riders xxx
Mounted games ponies are ridden one handed nearly all the time and at speed.
I believe this horse is exercising its right to be pain-free without a mental bit hitting on the sensitivity nerve and after protesting about a really sore mouth it gets jabbed in the ribs. Poor horse
Apparently you have no idea of horse anatomy
These poor horses are subjected to constant stress. I don't blame them for unrully behavior. You have to do more right by them, so called Royals.
beautifully handled
The guards are very skilled in there job with the horse they are friends aswell working horse the guards has a bond .😊
Well done horseguards, well done❤
What happened that set them off??? I worry about the Guards and the horses safety over there now with all the negativity that's allowed to take place on the street that runs in front of the gates, and the people who are allowed direct access to the Guards and horses as well. I think about you all every day: please be safe, and God Bless you all 🙏❤
I think it was the high pitch whistling noise, even I found that noise irritating in the video. And horse are sensitive to some sounds.
Well done to the female guard great control of her horse, l noticed her horse is a mare and when they come into heat they can get a bit feisty, could it have been the cause for her behaviour? or something else because the other horse was reactive too, the guard on foot made me chuckle because he didn’t know which horse to go to first bless him.
the bit was troubling the mare
Wenn ich ein Garde Pferd wäre und die vielen Leute ertragen müsste würde ich durchdrehen 😮
Ela conduz o cavalo muito bem, parabéns, brilhante soldado.
Horse had a bee in his bonnet! But on the real, the guard's skill as an equestrian shined and was quite impressive. Job well done!
The horse was suffering from the bit. Something was not right about that bit.
I agree, looked like the tongue got over the bit
Horses will actually put their tongue over the bit to dampen the pressure. Is the tongue was on top is means something was wrong with the bit before and the horse wanted to stop the pain. I can totally see why with all that metal in and around the mouth and all those straps too :(
Agree
That particular horse always runs his tongue out both sides of his mouth . He is one of those who runs his tongue over the bit and then back under the bit. He will try anything to get his way. I've watched him in several videos. When he gives up you will seee the bit is no longer a problem.
@dazy03 He plays with the bit like that. He will put his tongue back under the bit when he sees he iss not going back to the barn.
The guards handle misbehaving horses.Fabulously. My congratulations to them.
Well done that guard
I wonder if they didn't accidentally switch bridles tacking up. One on the left keeps getting his tongue over at least the weymouth bit like it's too loose. They are wearing double bridles with two bits but the reins for the bradoon bits aren't being used. Which is like just using the harsher leverage head setting bit and no soft directional bit.
O primeiro comentário que vi de alguém que percebe de cavalos
The bits under his tongue
Possible. I have never seen so much head tossing and tongue movement as in those guard's horses. It certainly seems that there is something wrong with the bit. Why would all these 'misbehaving ' horses that all the commentators say are fed up with people exhibit that behavior? I'm not sure they would. I think most of the people commenting don't know anything about horses.
I wonder if these horses get enough exercise during the day to wear off energy? And Standing in one place for extended periods of time on cobblestones is probably hard on their legs.
Many horses are used by law enforcement in crowd control in the US in situations much more stressful than having tourists touching them, and the are calm and controllable. But those are probably not standing still for long periods of time. If these horses had enough exercise before going out to be objects of tourist interest they would be calmer and more willing to stand peacefully. And it's time to switch to a snaffle bit! The tourists wouldn't know the difference.
These are such beautiful horses. I don't think they should be so close to so many strangers. The poor horse really did not want to go out there. Can barricades be put up and tourists who go beyond get barked at? 🤔
It's a public street in Whitehall under Westminster council not MOD , also potentially dangerous to horse and Trooper
The guards did a fantastic job controlling there horse keeping them both safe compared to the so called people
I agree horses aré tired of being touched and all the noise excelente horsemanship of the gard
catherineramsey Not a rant, at all, but a reasonable assessment of the situation. I spent a lot of time with horses as a teenager and understand them to be sentient creatures, almost always in close connection with their environments. These beautiful animals are being demanded to remain in very trying environments. The self-involvement of those taking selfies leads to ignoring - if even understanding - the basic nature of the animals. I would wish that the authorities consider keeping tourists at a distance and quelling some of the noises of sirens and chanting at a further distance.
Absolutely spot on!
People need to be kept at a distance...even people would not like others coming up to them repeatedly and touching them.
Why would anyone think animals are any different?
Right on , on your suggestions!
Exactly they know that the protesters upset the horses so they should make then go down a different road to horse guards !
The way he is working his tongue. .i think the bit is bothering him or his teeth need trimming. ..great team work from all....
They need to put a metal fence barrier up to protect these horses & guards.
They are working soldiers not ornaments. If something kicks off they need to be able to move immediately wherever they need to go. Plus if a horse should back into a metal barrier and knock it over it could catch its feet which would be incredibly dangerous.
Look, Mum! One handed steering!
This horse has beautiful eyes
Hay que evaluar esta ceremonia es un sacrificio para el oído sed o ruido de los turistas ,el tránsito etc ,el animal sufre ,,,😢
Kinda looks like the horse got his tongue over the bit.
😢😢😢😢 It is strange to see both horses spooked
The horse managed to get her tongue OVER the bit - see 4:35 on video. This is VERY uncomfortable for the horse and the Guards should have checked for this tack malfunction.
why is the bit so low the horse has its tongue over it so its uncomfortable in the mouth.
I believe that they should keep people from touching the horses.
Poor horses, can’t the public be kept at a safe distance from the guards and horses. Safety first surely🤷♀️
Ah, a shot of London City Walks guy asking about the giant horse!
I wondered what he looked like
It appears this horse may have had his tongue caught over the bit.
Yes but why do they do nothing about it? Unbelievable that they let it suffer like that. Shame on them.
Yeah that's what I thought ! Probably the tongue is bit too thick for the bit and he tries to be comfortable by putting it over it. Happens sometimes but they should have dismount and let him rest and remove the bit.
The beautiful horse, has his character.
Signs should read do not touch the horses AT ALL.
I second that!!!
I third that!!
People need to back off from crowding the horses and the guards. They are there to do a job, not to entertain the people.
In all my 80 years , most in London , I never have known of this. I'm sure it's now the number of tourists.
She has the skills to set that horse at eas. Its not the first time she handles a horse like this. And the massive horse at the other side isn't a regular guard horse. His name is Q10 and is an army horse..
All horses situated at horse guards parade are army horses.
@@bluerose19ll then watch Londen City Walks then you understand what I mean. Cause this wasn't the regular horse but a substitute
He's a Lifeguards horse working today with the Blues and Royals
No don’t make me go out there with those people
If the crowds annoying them isn't enough I heard someone with a hacking cough nearby. What a cesspool of germs surrounding both guards and horses.
They do a great job. Take them on a walk in the country side.
They only stand for 1 hour then they get let loose for fun times
Job well done.
Horses were hot to trot. Guards were amazing!
Do the Royal horses have a place where they can run after having to stand still for so long?
They go on their holidays to Leicestershire every year for six weeks or so. They have their shoes removed and are taken to the countryside to run in fields, eat grass and roll in mud. They also have other planned breaks where they are taken to Norfolk to be ridden on the beach and in the sea, or leave London to enjoy a range of activities including showjumping, hacking and cross-country riding.
During lockdown the carriage horses were turned out in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace.
I would rebel also. Stand in one place for hours while people bug them.
Este nobre e lindo cavalo tem personalidade própria!!!! E hoje ele que sim ser o centro da atenção. Deixa ele.
To be honest here. I feel so sorry for the horses. And is all due to the pathetic tourists
Poor Him the Horse. He dislikes so much the Job he has. He can't go anywhere but Up!
These poor horses have to put up with, noisy tourists, protesters, sirens, helicopters. These horses have to put up with this unbearable noise hour in and our out, day in and day out, week in and week out, month in and month out. All this commotion and constant patting has got to be the epitome of animal abuse. Not to mention what the magnificent guards have to put up, thank god for their ability to handle a horse one handed. As for the people that gather around! How stupid are they, they stand their ground when there’s a horse misbehaving (because he’s upset) and don’t move, they have to be told to move. What is wrong with people?
They're reacting because they're having to standstill with a guy on their back all hours at a time or they have to see and deal with stupid people all day
One hour
1 hour then they are finished. they stand for that time easy, the tourist are just to much.
@@fionalyon9448 Algunos de los que opinan parece que no acaban de enterarse.
Horse got his tongue over the bit.
Horse said "NOPE, not today".
England / Horse Guard please take the responsibility for the safety and add to sign “Children no closer than sign under any circumstances!” If parents aren’t smart enough to realize the danger, the Horse Guard certainly sees this all day long and should prevent a serious injury to a child no matter whose fault it would be! It certainly won’t be the horse’s fault because they give warnings all day!❤🙏
Who knows what these horses are seeing. I'm sure there are plenty of spirits hanging around.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Surely he saw something or they saw something that only animals can see and he put my respects to the guards and the horses, a tremendous work effort, a cordial greeting.
What these horses have to tolerate on a daily basis is nothing short of unbelievable. I'm surprised they don't rebel more often.
That horse was highly stressed and should have been retired for the day
That kid riding had no sense of the pain they were causing. Every stroke of the horse was another pull on the harshest bit in its mouth. The horse was frothing at the mouth in pain. The kid had to be lead into the alcove as he could not control the horse on his own. The kid looks scared and not in control when you see his face. He cannot ride worth a damn and should be removed till he figures out at least how to hold the reins and not hurt the horse. Shame on the Guards.
Poor horses have had it
Horses are incredibly intelligent animal.
They are absolutely amazing!!
But to keep making them angry is not good!!
These horses are beautiful animals, they deserve to be respected.
For gods sakes. These are horses they act up time to time.
Exactly. It was very half-hearted acting up anyway.
I don't blame these horses for reacting this way, I don't understand why it's not forbidden to approach them... they're stressed out about these people who won't give them peace of mind.
Well sat!
It looks like the bit is under the horses tongue?
There was a vampire in the crowd of tourists.
Just get this shit out of my mouth! It's cruel. If they don't wanna work, put them back in the stables.
He knows it's the bells setting the horse off.
THERE REALLY SHOULD BE BOUNDARY FENCES UP SO TOURISTS CANNOT STAND TOO CLOSE TO THE HORSES... THEY CAN TAKE THEIR PICTURES AT A DISTANCE, IT WON'T HURT THEM. THOSE HORSES, LIKE THE GUARDS, ARE '''WORKING'' AFTER ALL.... I'TS NOT A ZOO!
That's why you should stand back.
That horse is NOT happy and is having a bit of a tantrum. Notice the tail swishing up and down. Well done horse guard for getting him back under control!
I heard a high pitched whistling or screeching.
Poor horses. They want to be in the pasture, to run, free. Don't stand around and be bored an all the noise, people, terrible!😔
They get free time , at grass in Melton Mowbray and holidays on the beach
Poor horse had a butt-full of the tourists today. Lovely how the guards stroked him.
Жеребцы точно задумали побег..😎
The guard is stoking the horse's neck which causes the reins to work the bit in the mouth, to which the horse objects. Horse was constantly trying to move the bit with the tongue. Check the fit of the bit, even the type of metal it is made of.
Just now the horse is probably rebelling at having to stand there for hours. They're bored.
Btw i 100% respect n would never taunt or pose n shit with it
Poor horses, something scared them. I don't think tourist crowding them helps these situations or their overall wellbeing on a day-to-day basis.
The horse was trying it on but not seriously rebelling. It walked out calmly enough when someone came along to lead it.
Most likely, the horse has a few serious issues with the bit, which was making him overreact: 1) The bit's mouthpiece and shanks have no joints, so they are fused in one rigid unit, which makes the bit more severe in the mouth. 2) The horse has the tongue passed over the mouthpiece, which is both uncomfortable and more painful than when the mouthpiece is above the tongue. Such discomfort and pain block the horse's ability to respond to the commands previously learned with the bit properly placed in the mouth. In the video, the horse moves the tongue intensely attempting to solve the issue with the bit. The weird part is that neither the rider nor the person on the ground trying to help noticed the tongue outside the mouth and the animal's discomfort. 3) The mouthpiece is too long, so it does not fit in his mouth property; as the rider pulls on the reins, the mouthpiece portion exiting the corner of the mouth exerts extra pressure on the mouth bar, which is more painful. Unfortunately, although horse bits have been used to train and ride horses for thousands of years, most people, even those who use them, do not understand the functioning and physics of these machines.
