    Thank you Baba !
    I can't remember the exact reference but a similar question was asked to Lahiri Baba by a disciple : "When will one be free from the sexual instinct ?" and His answer blew my mind away too : "When one will be lying in the grave"...

      I don't understand the necessity to change people's personal names to Indian one's when practicing Yoga. I also do not understand the use of Indic terminology.

    Your recent videos seem like reiterations; back in the day, Tony Robbins used to say, "Repetition is the mother of skill." He may have swiped that idea from Kabir, who wrote, "By repeated practice, even a dull mind becomes a knower. By the repeated movement of the rope, even a hard rock gets marked." Very helpful today, Forrest!

      Beautiful Walt, absolutely. Sometimes we hear the right thing in just the right way, and it all clicks into place. So I often repeat in slightly different ways to facilitate just that. Blissings brother!

    Oh , I remember him from the San Diego SRF chapel .So nice to share ! Thank you .
    I like when you say Magical Forrest because that best describes . Even though fleeting for me .
    There is a Beatles song where Paul sings “ But Oh that magic feeling”
    That reminds me so much of those moments.

    Call and Response!
    This phrasing resonates with my current experience. I regularly fall into the trap of straining for more when I sense even a bit of expansion. Grateful for the reminder that I need to let go in order to reach my goal.

    Loved this -- Bro D was so blunt with truth, but it came with deep compassion and not enough time to hem-and-haw. I remember when he talked about the reality of Aliens and what Yogananda had taught/spoke about them!!

I teach meditation class now ( in USA) and gave my students pretty much the same steps in the same order, we just call them differently. 🙏We use Sri M’s guidance, videos, books and curriculum that we developed in collaboration with his ashram in Madanapalle, India. ❤️

    Hey forrest! Thanks for all your videos. I have been doing various practices for the last 8 or 9 years. But in just one year of finding your channel, I feel as though my understanding of these practices have been totally and completely expanded beyond anything I could have imagined. Particularly, your method of grounding these experiences back into the body and the nervous system. Its incredibly profound.
    Well anyways, something profound happened today in meditation. I was doing HRV breathing, and I felt a response from what I think is the medulla. It felt as though a spherical magnet was in the foramen magnum area of my head. And it felt like my nervous system/energy was being pulled immediately to this point in one swift motion. It was as if the nervous system of my lower body was immediately pulled upward and inward to this magnetic point. Could this be roll up of consiousness that you talked about? Because I get now why you call it a "roll up" lol, for it was certainly sudden and immediate. Like when a magnet is placed near metal, but instead of metal it was my peripheral nervous system.

    Wonderful and very practical teachings. In a book by Lahiri Mahasaya's family lineage, it is mentioned that Lahiri Mahasaya wrote that until one wins over the senses(hindi word indri which yogic texts use to refer to senses and related things) ,the complete self realisation doesn't occur. And he also said that one who wins over senses is the real winner. But many meditators says you can't control all the senses. Its a bit of contradictory teachings/sayings for me.Different yogis say different things.Can you please elaborate a bit more on this to clarify.

    • @ForrestKnutson
      @ForrestKnutson  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You cannot force control, but through the process of yoga meditation you can lower the idle, and enter the freeze response. It is the process of the freeze response which liberates the yogi from the five senses.

    hrm. but my last reachable deep state wasnt from meditation - it was from a tranquil trance-like Lightlanguage state. And I still dont know or can explain lightlanguage enough yet. But it feels very very right-brained - although it contains "words" but without direct meaning. So what to do now? start with lightlanguage and deepen with the kriyas?

    Hi Forrest! Can I please ask for your understanding of six chakras and a padma on top
    I try to sit with it and it resonates with me yet around my bubble everyone talks about 7chakras and I can’t articulate it yet

    • @ForrestKnutson
      @ForrestKnutson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Beautiful Mike. Think of it this way, the Padma is for Ascension. So it is totally different from all of the chakras. The chakras are for the function of life day to day.

    hey forrest can you PLEASE shed some light on spiritual practices that can boost iq memory power and intuition or just overall intelligence ? like swami Vivekananda had good for exams and promotion or overall navigation through material world for householders

    • @HakunaPotataa
      @HakunaPotataa ปีที่แล้ว

      For iq memory power I saw a video on TH-cam why Japanese have a good memory. Search for the abacus soroban Japanese video with the kids in school. Your memory works better when you create a body-mind connection. For intuition, you need to know exactly what you want or where you are going. Intuition is a feeling that tells you the right path to your desired destination. So it's necessary to make the decision first. Then feel your way through the material. An exercise: make one decision and then wait and observe the feelings and thoughts that come. maybe you get that feeling to call friend A to get what you need. Then change your plan to a whole different result and observe again how your thoughts and feelings change. This time you might get the feeling to call friend B and totally forget about friend A. Just try it out

    Hi Forrest. How do you stop excessive eating?

    • @ForrestKnutson
      @ForrestKnutson  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Very often we are nutrient deficient which drives us to overeat. This has nothing to do with self-control because the subconscious will drive you to eat in order to survive because of the low nutrient level. So the first thing to do is get enough vitamins and liquid minerals so that the body gets what it needs to function.

    Puré Brahmacraya in thought, word and deed transmutes sex energy into the ojas shakti, spiritual energy. You cannot make new anything. You must take what you have and transform it into something else. It is extremely difficult but absolutely transformative.🙏🙏🙏🕉🕉🕉📿📿📿

    It seems to be more important that you manage well What you fantasize about. I was going to say that it's more important to not watch p**** but that's not exactly it either. It's more along the lines of what you fantasize about and the alignment that has with your reality. At least that's what I've been gathering from the practice. And I'm glad because I would never become celibate by my choice. It makes no sense. I think a big reason why the practice came in as it did, is because the line is unclear so it was easier just to tell men to be celibate then tell them well. Well you can have sex but not every day or whatever. And it all seems to be about the Christos and purity of it from your actions and thoughts. And if you're actions and thoughts are something along the lines of humiliation and brutality with sex and you watch videos with that every day. You're tainting your oil. Just to use that as an easy example. So with all that being said , to me, it makes absolutely no sense at all that you would have to be celibate to become enlightened. That's such a contradiction of everything in existence, I can't explain how but it is lol. Or , I guess, that's how I feel.
