Roy Ayers is and has always been straight dope. I had a chance to see him my Sophomore year of college at Kent State in the 80’s. He is a Vibrophonist/Producer/Composer now about 80 years old and STILL doing his thing. He is an important part of America’s musical heritage, whether we all actually know it or not. Great find, lil’ Kings! Keep digging, our heritage is sooo rich!

YES! Great suggestion! ISLEY BROTHERS STILL making music after 60 years - saw them live 2 years ago! That's a Seals and Croft song, but the Isleys version is the BEST - 100% soulful and that guitar solo is one of the best ever! I put that one on repeat for hours.

Saw Roy Ayers live in a small jazz club in the early 90's. The stage was literally 10 feet away from me. One of the best musical experiences I've ever had.
I’ve always found Roy’s music deep. Minimalistic. Intelectual. The kind of music that allows you to reminisce and ponder life. Everybody need a little chill time.

I have been checking out Roy Ayers lately and i gotta say there is something magical about this man's music. When i get done playing his albums i just feel a certain way afterwards. He makes me feel good in a way no other musician has. Idk what he does for thatto be the case but its true lol.
