My favorite birthday memory is when my grandma took me to her ladies quilt circle. I was 12 and have lived hand quilting ever since. I am now 66 and still love to hand quilt from start to finish.
Happy 18th Birthday!!! Thank you for creating videos; they are so very helpful. Favorite birthday memory … moved to another state, about 3 hours from our home town. My husband knew I was missing everyone. About 30 of our friends and family traveled to our house and totally surprised me with a party. A birthday spent with the people I love the most and filled with joyous memories. Best day ever!
I'll always treasure the memories of homemade birthday cakes and slumber parties. We didn't have a lot, but my mom always made me feel special on my birthday. Happy birthday FQS!
My favorite FQS memory was in 2017 when I watched my first FQS TH-cam Video with Kimberly giving a tutorial on the Layer Cake Pop. I fell in love with her teaching style! The quilt went together as easy as can be with the step by step instructions. Love the way you write your patterns. I made the quilt as a gift for my daughter and she LOVED it! It turned out so beautifully that I had to to make it again for myself. I have been hooked on FQS TH-cam ever since and have learned a lot! I also like the fact that I can find almost everything I need, fabric, notions, Aurifil thread, irons, etc. on your online shop. Happy 18th Anniversary Fat Quarter Shop! Wishing you many more prosperous years to come!
My favorite bday memory is when my youngest son turned one. He was having such a jolly time, laughing and giggling and when we put the cake in front of him to blow out the candle he face planted his whole head into the cake. It was timed perfectly and sent us all into stitches. Happy bday FQS! Thanks for all the inspiration.
My 8th birthday, we were moving, so I spent it with my grandma. I was sad at first but she took me to the little town next to hers and we went into my first thrift store. I was so excited. She bought me a blue womens dress and some heals. I topped it off with costume jewelry from Kmart. She had to sew an elastic band together to keep the dress from dragging the ground. I was on top of the world. She always made me feel special and important. She also was the person who would later teach me to sew. I didn't make my first quilt until after she passed away but will always remember her kindness. 🥰💖 Happy happy birthday and congratulations 🎊 hope you guys had the most wonderful day. ❤
My favorite birthday memory is when I was in elementary school, I told all my friends coming to my party the same gift idea. They all got me Sparkle Paints just as I had suggested. It was hilarious. I realize now, I even had that creative urge back then. Happy 18th!
My favorite birthday memory is when I turned 18. My grandmother gave me a log cabin quilt she had made for me, using scraps from all the clothing that she had made me through out my 18 years of life. Grandma is now in heaven, but I still have my beautiful hand stitched quilt and the wounderful memories of her teaching me how to sew and quilt. Thank you Fat Quarter Shop for all you do and I wish you a Happy Birthday and many more years to come!!
When I turned nine I had a tea party birthday party, and my dad was the "butler" who served us. My sister, cousins, and I got all dressed up and had so much fun calling my dad the "butt-ler" all afternoon. Thanks for all the inspiration and techniques. See you in 2022!
Hi Kimberly, you look so cute in your Birthday 🎂 sash! My favorite Birthday memory was my Mom making a chocolate icebox wafer cake just for me. It was my favorite dessert and with 7 of us I was excited to eat that on my special day! 🎉🎊🎁 Happy 18th Birthday to you and Kevin plus all your staff! I love FQS. It is SO inspiring to me… you feel like such a dear friend and we have never even met! May your business continue strong for many years to come!!! Thanks for all you do. It is greatly appreciated. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Hugs, Suzanne
Happy Birthday Fat Quarter Shop! I remember ordering from FQS way back when online shopping was just becoming a thing. I imagined Kimberly down in her basement cutting fabrics. So great to see how far you have come. I look forward to another 18 years of quilting together. My favorite birthday memory was the year my parents bought me a horse. They blindfolded me and drove me out to a barn. Best Birthday Ever!
Happy Happy Birthday FQS! What a fun video today! My favorite birthday memory is celebrating 46 wonderful birthdays with my grandmother. I was so blessed to be born on her birthday and she was so blessed to live to be 102. I cherish every birthday spent with her. I miss her dearly but the memories of her always brings a warm hug to my heart and a smile. I Love the 2 new free quilt patterns! Feels like Christmas came early! Looking forward to all the fun stuff in 2022! Thank you Kimberly and all of the FQS crew! Merry Christmas!
I've been listening to you as I am piecing a queen quilt. This 74 year old body had to rest a minute and I'm so glad I did. Heard you talking about a scrap quilt from quilts you and I've made and I don't usually like the house quilts "BUT I LOVE THIS PATTERN". I have 46 grands/great-grands and I have made 32 quilts for them. Still have a few to go. I love this idea of a house for each quilt made. I'll keep this quilt for me??? Happy Birthday and thank you for all the hard work. Looking forward to many more years.
My favorite birthday memory was this past year. My adult daughter came from out of town and surprised me with the most special gift ever. She wrote me a book entitled “The Adventures of Grammi the Great” based on special things I do with my grandchildren. She traveled to the city the grandchildren lived and had them illustrate the book. The kids were 6,5,4, and 3 years old so you can imagine the art work was quite a production! At the end of the book, my adult children and their spouses wrote me letters. I cried and cried! It was a memory I will never forget!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH for writing the Brick house pattern per block! Sometimes it's fun just to make a block and turn it into a pillow or table runner!! LOVE IT!! My favorite birthday memory is of when I turned 40, and had recently lost my father due to a long illness and my sweet hubby did so much to make that day special for me. He took me to a new city to explore a new town and to an aquarium to make me smile. He is so good to me and the memories of that day are so special!
I have a happy bday memory but it was my mother-in-laws when she turned 80. She lost my father-in-law and she moved closer to us. We had a surprise party for her at our house. It was a total surprise and she shared she never had a party before to celebrate. It made me so happy we could do that for her. Happy 18th birthday to FQS! I have learned so much watching your TH-cam videos.
My favorite birthday memory is when I turned 60 and my husband had a surprise birthday party for me. It was definitely a surprise as I had no idea that when I got home from work that day that so many friends and family would be there. I had co-workers, family fly in from New York and New Mexico and many friends and neighbors there. What a great fun day and evening we had. Happy 18th birthday. You and Kevin have worked many hard hours and it paid off for a very successful company. Best wishes for many more to come.
Happy birthday 🎂🎁🎈 FQS! You saved my sanity during quarantine. You have been my personal tutors in learning to quilt! Favorite birthday memory… going with my parents when I turned 16 to the roller skate 🛼 store in Venice Beach Ca., and getting my white leather boot skates with orange wheels! They were so expensive and I couldn’t believe my parents got them for me! Both my parents worked and my dad worked a second job. We immigrated from Chile in the 70’s and my parents worked so hard to make sure we were all safe. I loved those things and wore them everywhere (and I truly mean everywhere!) I grew up in the 80’s roller skating at the beach. It was one of my most treasured gifts because I knew my parents worked so hard to just make me so happy! Before this skates I used to have a pair I got at a garage sale, I loved those too, but not nearly as special as going to the real skate shop to get a pair. ❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations on your success and your husband as well your amazing staff. Congratulations for having Theresa who helped you finish your UFOs. I love the idea. But I still want to finish my own work. That’s the true joy of accomplishments but I still have not been able to quit a large quilt other than stitch in the ditch. I quilt wall hangings for practice. Have a wonderful holiday and remember God’s love for us.
Happy 18th birthday! What a privilege to be able to watch your u tubes. I enjoyed each and everyone so far. I wish you everything of the best for another 18 years. My wish still remains: to be able to see your shop and meet you guys one day! Enjoy, lots of love, Myra
I don’t have a lot of good birthday memories, I was born on New Years day and every year I seem to be forgotten but my favourite birthday memories are when my two daughters want to spend the day with me and talking about all the quilting and cross stitch projects I have made throughout the year. Happy 18th birthday Fat Quarter shop, Kimberley you and your team are truly inspirational
My favorite birthday memory was the year I turned 60 and my daughter turned 30. Our birthdays are 10 days apart. We took a trip to Puerto Vallarta. It was an eventful trip that we will never forget. Congratulations on 18 years. I have enjoyed shopping from your shop for a good portion of those years.
My favorite birthday memory is from my 12th birthday. My parents finally let me have a slumber party because we had just taken in the carport on our house and had a large enough living room to hold all of us girls. A couple of my friends had to leave early because they didn’t know that they were allergic to cats. That was my one and only party outside of family that I ever had. Happy birthday to you, Kimberly and Kevin! I’m so grateful that I found you in 2020. I have fallen back in love with stitching and sewing thanks to y’all. Merry Christmas to you and your family and staff!
My favorite birthday memory is from my first year in college, a friend of mine who is also from Washington State took me on a joy ride through the massive rain puddles that had accumulated around town, and I giggled like crazy every time a wave of water would cover his Jeep. As we headed back to campus I asked how he knew I would enjoy something like that and he said "it's a Pacific NW thing, so I figured you would" :) I'm so lucky to have such thoughtful friends!
My favorite birthday memory is last year I turned 60 and due to Covid we could not have a party so my daughter in law Melody contacted friends and family for their thoughts, then printed and framed their “60 things we love about you”. The words were in the shape of a heart. I will treasure it always. I enjoy your show…wish I had more time to sew. 🙂
Happy birthday FQS!!! My favorite birthday was when my mom bought me a juki sewing machine. She tricked me because I would not allow her to spend that much on me. She told me she is buying it for her then she said take it home and learn to use it so I can show her. After a few months when I was ready to show her, she told me is yours. Happy birthday!!!! I cried of happiness of course. I could not believe it. I feel special because I have a machine like Kimberly 😊
Happy 18th birthday!!!! Love watching you and feeling all of the positive vibes that FQA offers! My favorite birthday memory was when my mom threw me a surprise birthday for my 13th...it was the first and only time anyone has ever succeeded in surprising me, and I both laughed and cried at the overwhelming sensation of all of my school friends gathered to celebrate me on my special day.
My favorite birthday memories are those of my childhood. Growing up with 6 siblings, my parents did an awesome job making us feel special for that day! There was the decoupaged special chair to sit in in kindergarten, the sea foam pink icing on homemade angel food cake with gumdrops every year! I was so blessed growing up and tried to do the same for my kids and now grandchildren! When I got quilting, I made a it’s my birthday quilted chair cover for her. So much fun to see it each year. My memories are all special and blessedly sweet one. Happy 18th Kimberly, Kevin and team! Thanks 😊
Happy 18th Birthday FQS, I've enjoyed your videos, looking forward to watching your new ones in 2022. I love the solid fabric choices in your solid fat quarter club for next year, I plan on signing up. One of my favorite memories is from 2019 when my daughters surprised me with a plane ticket to join them in Lancaster, PA so we could all go to the AQS Quilt show held there in March. That was such a special occasion.
My favorite birthday memory is hearing my mom tell me Happy birthday. I lost her this past September and my birthday was a few weeks ago and it was the first time in 53 years I didn't hear my sweet momma say it. So I will always treasure the years I had with her. Happy Birthday FQS 🎂🎉
My favorite birthday memory is from my childhood. We were celebrating at Lake Michigan and my Mom had made me a sheet cake for the day. I, of course, wanted to carry my cake and I dropped it onto the sand. It was a bit crunchy but I still loved it and remember a fun day swimming and running the sand dunes with my cousins. Happy 18th Birthday FQS. I have known your site for fifteen years and appreciate all your inspiration and encouragement.
Happy 18th anniversary Kimberly. I have watched your videos since you first started making them. Thank you for sharing so much of your time and projects with us. Bless you and your family during this season, and your Fat Quarter Shop team. I look forward toa wonderful year of new quilting ideas with you.
Hey Kimberly, love your channel. I have gotten a ton of useful tips and tricks from you to help me with my quilting. Happy 18th birthday! My favourite birthday memory is of my daughter's second birthday. We lived far away from grandparents, so we called my husband's dad so she could talk to him and the first thing out of her mouth was " Hi Papa, I'n 2. I go potty on the big toilet now. Love you. Bye" and hung up on him. We had to call him back all the while busting a gut laughing. Enjoy many more great years!!
My favorite birthday was my 65th! My sweet hubby took me to Memphis & Elvis Presley's Graceland. I was lucky enough to see 2 Elvis concerts and have been a huge fan forever. I even remember where I was and what I was doing when I heard he had passed. I literally cried for hours! Best birthday present ever! Happy Birthday FQS!
Happy Birthday Fat Quarter Shop. I'm so grateful that you started this business, Kimberly, and continued to put yourself out there trying (& inventing) new things! My most memorable birthday was when I was a Freshman in high school. My dance/drill team coach's best friend was a coach for a high school 3 hours away. It just so happened to be in the town my best friend had moved to 2 years prior. I was sad about celebrating my birthday on a bus, but excited that I was going to get to see my best friend!!!! The performance went well. My BFF and several other people got me flowers, balloons & cards. I both loved it and was embarrassed by the attention. The next morning after breakfast I started getting sick. It was my first time throwing up in public and I did it outside the bus, then several times in a plastic bag on the bus on the way home. (Did I mention this town was in the mountains, on a windy road, and I get carsick.) Sooooooooooooooooooooooo embarrassing. I was so happy when I fell asleep on the bus and woke up and we were home. I'll never forget that birthday for so many reasons. Merry Christmas Jolly family and FQS team! Looking forward to seeing you again in the New Year. Enjoy some much needed down time!
My favorite birthday memory was from my 50th birthday. I decided I wanted a party and invited many of my mommy friends. It was great to sit around and talk, but the best part of it was watching all our teenagers sit in the living room talking and knowing that our mommy relationships had helped our children build positive relationships with great people.
Happy birthday!!! My favorite memory is floating down Ichetucknee springs with my Mom on my 10th birthday. It was just the two of us. The water was freezing and as we were climbing in our tubes, my Mom slipped and fell in. I was still laughing when I slipped and fell in after her. I still remember that birthday 50 years later. 🙂
My favorite birthday memory was from 1999 I had been feeling down and out that year with nothing special planned. I was and still am a volunteer firefighter/EMT and I showed up at the station to get some paperwork done. The fire chief and his wife came into the office with a hostess cup cake with a candle in it and sang Happy Birthday to me. Simple sweet and unexpected. I felt so special that they had thought about me like that. It really is the simple things that make a lasting memory in you heart. Love you Kimberly and Fat Quarter Shop
My favorite birthday memory is when I turned another year older 78. Happy Birthday Fat Quarter Shop I've been ordering from you since you started with charm packs. Love all that you do especially the the live streams. Enjoy your two weeks off with family and take care of the your voice.
Birthday memories. I am so glad you are celebrating with all of your followers. My favorite part was your video from all of your friends. It shows how much you have done for the quilting community. Now my favorite birthday memory is when my Mom and Dad gave me my 1st “sewing” machine when I was 6. It was a toy sewing machine that used glue cartridge for the thread. It pushed dots of glue in the fabric as you went along. This was the start. At age 26, my husband gave me my own sewing machine. Yes, it used thread. Lol. Thank you for all you do! Happy 18th Birthday! Wishing you many more!
Congrats to all of you at FQS on your 18th year anniversary! I found you because of The Housewives, Priscilla & Chelsea. I would say you really enhanced your business this year by upgrading the production of your videos and social media presence. You definitely uped the game! Thank you for all you do for the community of both cross-stitch and quilting. And for the quality products in the online store and costumer service. Continued success in the years to come!
Wow, happy 18th birthday y'all!! Since I was born on Christmas Day I have many happy memories of special birthdays. Because my birthday is a holiday I always had the day off from school or work which has been amazing. It also was wonderful to be around family and extended family for the holidays and have them there to celebrate my birthday as well. But the absolute best is sharing my birthday with the greatest gift to all mankind, Jesus!
My favorite birthday memory is not 100% quilting related. I was 17 and pregnant with my first child (yes my husband and I started young). I remember that year because my belly was huge (I was due in 2 months). I spent the day rubbing my belly and day dreaming about being a mom. My husband came in from work and gave me a gift ( I don’t remember what it was, flowers, and a hand made (out of scrap metal) and engraved card. I will never forget that gift. It been 25 years and I still display it for all to see. I’ve always been a crafter but that just solidified how precious hand made gifts are. I think about that from time to time when I gift my quilts. ❤️
My favorite birthday memory was as a teenager my sister telling me I was getting a car for my birthday but I got a sewing machine instead. Don’t know that I was super excited at the time for a sewing machine and not a car, but I am forever grateful for my mother teaching me to sew. I love sewing with my mom and am now helping my sister to sew (she is a cross stitcher). Love Fat Quarter Shop! Happy, Happy Birthday!!!
The Brickhouse scrap pattern is wonderful! Printed it out last night! My favorite birthday memory is a family reunion I held in our yard for my father's 80th birthday...the last time we had so many of our relatives all together! Lots of photos and good memories.
My favorite birthday memory is from my 8th birthday. I got a shiny new bicycle with a kickstand which was quite a big deal at that time. My mum and dad asked me to sit on it on our ‘gently’ sloping lawn to take a photo.I put the kickstand down, climbed up onto the saddle, and just as they were about to take the photo, me and the shiny new bike fell to the ground. Both myself and bike were just fine, but the whole family was rolling around with laughter. Good memories! Thanks to Kimberly and the FQS team for everything you do. May you all have a wonderful holiday season and the best of health and happiness in 2022.
HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY! Thank you for your generous gifts of free patterns over the years and your contributions to MAKE A WISH!! My favorite birthday was when I turned 10 years old and my dad was stationed in France. We had snow that day and I received a couple of mini cuckoo clocks - wish I still had them. Hope you have the Merriest Christmas and enjoy time with your family. Blessing in 2022!!
My favorite birthday memory was turning 40. My five kids all wore black arm bands to take me out to dinner, and decorated my car, adding “Honk, she’s 40!” Such a fun filled day! FQS is a stellar example of great products and service, with true customer focus. Kimberly, you have created thousands of new quilter or quilters who have really stepped up their game because of you. You have a legion of fans who love you and everyone on the FQS team. So happy to be part of the gang!
My most favorite birthday memory was just 4 years ago when I turned 66. Never really had a memorable birthday before and my oldest daughter and her family surprised me with cake and presents. Believe me it was a surprise and wonderful because no one had ever done that for me before. Amazing.
Loved my 50th! Entire family went to a Christmas lights display and we rode in open carriages in pouring rain. Thank goodness we live in the warm South. Happy 18th birthday to FQS.
My favorite memory was when I was 50 my daughter and husband built a shelving unit in the bathroom for me. It was a complete surprise and a real labor of love. My husband can build anything, but his work did not give him much time, so to do that for me was special. They did it all while I was out of town teaching a class and when I got home it was all done. Thank you FQS for all the wonderful videos, amazing pattern writing and patterns (you have spoiled me for all other patterns I buy) I know it takes a village to do what you do so please thank all of your team for their hard work.
I have been around the sun for many years so I have so many great memories. My favs are from my childhood and inviting my classmates to a party. We never had a lot of money but that day I felt like the queen of the world! Thx for all you do.
My mother, who is now passed, always made our birthdays special, even when we were adults. She knew I loved rhubarb pie and she brought me one for my birthday one year instead of cake. I still have most of the cards she gave me and they always make me feel loved when I re-read them! Happy Birthday FQS...
My favorite birthday memory is when I was a kid. We were at my Grandparents house; my parents bought me a Midge doll (Barbie’s best friend) and a package that had all kinds of plastic high heel shoes and purses. I opened my present from my Grandma, and it was a shoe box filled with clothes for Midge that my Grandmother had made. I recognized some of the fabric from clothes she had made me and my cousins. I thought I had a gold mine! My Grandma loved to sew, and worked for Simplicity Pattern company, she would fold the patterns (by hand) and stuff them in their envelopes. Happy Birthday FQ shop!!
I loved the video in the beginning because it really shows how hard you work on relationships with fabric designers. FQS helps everyone one succeed which I really appreciate as a business model. I found FQS TH-cam when the jelly roll jam video came out and I’ve been hooked since! Happy birthday FQS!
I don't have a funny story but wish I had found you sooner then 2020. I am 76 soon to be 77 so your ideas and wayss you do things has changed my quilting. I am so much better and make so many more quilts. Thank you so much
My favorite birthday was my 60th. Our 5 children, their spouses and our 6 grandchildren went across the border from Canada to Frankenmuth Michigan without my knowledge, and gave me the greatest surprise birthday get together. I'll cherish the memory forever! Happy Birthday Fat Quarter Shop! 💓 🎊🎈🎉❤🎊🎁🎉🎉🎈🎈
My favorite birthday memory is coming home from the hospital with a set of twins! They had been born a few days earlier but we were stuck in the hospital because of a snow storm. The nurses were so kind they brought me a birthday cupcake with a candle. They twins were greeted by their 8 year old brother, 5 year old sister and 3 year old brother. It was a very memorable and busy birthday! At one point I don’t know who cried more in the car--the twins or me! Thanks for all you do at Fat Quarter Shop and Happy Birthday!
One of my favorite Birthday memory is when I turned 60. My middle daughter, Lucie, who is an emergency room doctor in Virginia had contacted her sisters for pictures of growing up and different events and made for me my first photo quilt. Such sweet memories every time I have my quilt wrapped around me and share so many stories! Nothing like feeling the love and seeing the faces of love. This was the beginning of learning to quilt myself! My wonderful family was an awesome inspiration! I am so Blessed!
My favorite birthday memory = my husband was sweet. My kids are both grown and have moved away, so he bought me plane tickets in September of 2021, so I could fly down to see my daughter for the weekend. We had a great time and it just showed me that my husband of 31 years is the sweetest person on the planet.
Happy Birthday Kimberly and FQS. My favorite birthday memories is when I was flying for the first time on my birthday for a vacation to Greece. I was very nervous for customs for some reason because I didn’t speak the language and didn’t know what to expect about questions. So when I came up to the officer. The first thing he said to me after asking for my passport “happy birthday”. I was in shock because I certainly didn’t expected that!
My favorite birthday memory actually involves my husband and daughter. My husband's birthday is on Christmas Eve. My daughter was due on March 3rd, 1989. She decided she did not want to wait and arrived on her daddy's birthday, 12/24/1988. The best birthday gift ever. Thankfully, she was healthy and only stayed in the NICU for 6 weeks. Every year since then, they have celebrated together! Merry Christmas, Happy Birthday, and many blessings in the new year for everyone at FQS. You are THE BEST!
My favorite birthday was over 24 years ago- my 40th. My parents and my 3 sisters and I took a trip to Las Vegas. It was our last family trip when we were all together. We had a huge yard sale before leaving. My family surprised me by donating the 400 dollars we raised to me as a birthday gift, to use on the trip. I burst into tears when they told me. Their generosity was overwhelming. That's the way they are. Lucky me to have such a great family.
My happiest birthday memory was my tenth birthday. We had all been very worried about my little sister who had been very ill with pneumonia and I tried not to be selfish thinking that everyone might miss my birthday with all the worrying. I had talked myself into acceptance that it might be forgotten. I woke up on my birthday morning to find on a little table next to me my first ever watch and a bunch of freshly picked roses. My mum was a superhero! Nursing my very ill sister through the night but found time to gather the roses and make a fuss of me! 45 years ago! Have a great holiday season to you and your team! Thank you for all that you do❤️💕😘
Covid allowed me to finish most of my UFOs. I took one of your pattern challenges & almost finished it. Wish I could sew as much as you! I know it's your job. Wish my husband had the love for quilting as I do. He thinks it's a waste of time. I do my housework first & then get to sew. I've learned so much from you! Thanks for all you do & continue to do
Last year celebrated my birthday with all my grand daughters dressing up as Disney Princess. We all wore tiaras My grand sons just danced with all of them. Every birthday is special. Every day upright is a very good day ! I try to see the best in every situation or find a way to make it better. Happy Anniversary on the start of your company. Excellent customer service. Sorry to call so much ! Love all your “ free content “. Tears brought to my eyes when I learned about the funds raised for Make A Wish ! Truly makes a difference ! Happy Quilting and Cross Stitching !
I am blessed to have more than one favorite birthday memory, but one of the top ones was back in the mid 70's when flying was a luxury for many of us, my husband bought me a round trip ticket for my birthday to fly home to the east coast to visit my mother and family who I had not seen in 2 years! What a heartwarming memory every time I think of that birthday! Thank you to all the FQS staff and Merry Christmas to all!
My favorite birthday memory is about our middle son who was born on July 24th. Each yr we would go to my husband's hometown and attend a big parade that happened on Jacob's birthday. When he was little he thought the parade was for him. For his birthday. As he grew up he started asking questions about why the town would have a celebration just for him. His older brother finally spilled the beans, thinking to deflate his pesky brother. But Jacob, true to his loving nature said, "Oh, I will share my birthday with the pioneers!" So that turnaround became our family motto: Share. It is what you do, too. You share ideas, dreams, enthusiasm, confidence in the form of your Make a Wish yearly project that brings us all together to share blessings, your Live shows, and your products. Happy Birthday!
My favorite Birthday memory is when I turned 40... We took our 2 kids to Disney World and we had supper on my bday in Cinderella's castle. Suddenly, the lights dimmed and the waiter brought me a cake full of sparklers and the nightly fireworks started just outside the window besides us. The whole restaurant sang me Happy Birthday. It truly was a Fairytale! And it sure is a nice Memory. My husband had arranged everything beforehand.
Happy 18th birthday!!! Don’t know where I would be on the sanity scale without you all! My favorite birthday was my 8th birthday - we lived out in Micronesia, so there were no ice cream shops or bakeries ( this is in the early 1960’s).My dad made me ice cream, and baked me a cake - both were blue, my favorite color, through and through! Didn’t think I could love him more but that day was so special to me.
Happy birthday Fat Quarter Shop! Thank you for all the generous, wonderful tutorials , free patterns and the absolutely beautiful projects you share. Wishing you all the best in the coming years.
Don't know that this is my favorite birthday memory but---My family threw a surprise party. My sister told me we were going shopping. When we got close to the building where the party was held, she had me digging in the floor of her car for her phone charger so I wouldn't see all the vehicles. I raised up to look out the window to see her pulling up under the awning. All the decorations, balloons--I started telling her she couldn't pull up under the awning this was somebody's party and she was crashing it. Boy was the joke on me. Thank you FQS for 18 years and wishes for many more.
I loved the birthday celebration! You made me remember shopping with my son when he was about 5...the fabric store was in the mall at the time and I turned into it. He stopped right at the edge of the tile that changed from the mall flooring to the store and said, as loud as he could, "Oh No! Not THIS store!!" He sure made the other shoppers chuckle. I definitely miss shopping with my daughter...and you're right..boys just don't want to go!
Congratulations on 18 years. I love the Sew Sampler I get each month and I love shopping at Fat Quarter Shop. Wishing you at least 18 more years. Happy birthday!
Happy Birthday and Congratulations! My favorite birthday memory was when I was in college away from home and my dad took the day off work and spent it with me. That was the first outing/day that I had ever had with my father with just the two of us. I will treasure that memory forever!
Sharing your colors and your mistakes such as when making new block sharing with your group and your laughter shows you are human and enjoy your work. I sewed a block three times and ripped the stitch twice due to fabric bind together when I reached and then repeated again. I had to laugh at myself in the middle of the night. I enjoy working by myself and sharing it with my friend then we both laugh together. Thanks for your inspiration. It help after retirement and death of my mom and sister.
My very favorite birthday memory is when I turned 16. My Dad had been given a free hotel night at a super nice hotel in downtown Dallas as a Christmas bonus that year. My Mom and I used it and had room service, went shopping downtown and took a bath at the hotel. There are five of us kids, so having my Mom all to myself for the entire night and day was incredible. I’ll never forget it as long as I live. ❤️ Loved this live steam (even though I had to watch it later). Happy birthday to the Fat Quarter shop! You’re my very favorite store. Cannot wait to see the first live stream of 2022. The quilt showcases are my absolute favorite thing to watch.
Thank you for your videos on quilting and cross stitch. It’s a lot of work for you and your team, but so appreciated by your followers. You are a breath of fresh air. Happy birthday Fat Quarter Shop! 🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂🎂
I have been a customer since 2016. I just logged onto your website to see all of my orders. WOW, I've bought a lot between fabric and cross stitch. I would say Fat Quarter Shop is my primary quilt shop. Thank you for being here for me.
My best birthday memory was last year, when I turned 70 years old. I was at a "sisters" quilt getaway & my sisters gave me lots of quilting related gifts. The best part was that I was able to spend a week with my sisters, quilting & just having fun together. We'd stay up sewing till 3am, go to bed & then get up at 7am and start sewing again. Some days we'd stay in our pajamas all day!! We like to rent a VRBO for our quilting getaways, so we have a change of scenery, plus we can visit the local quilt stores. We've been to Sisters & Grants Pass, Oregon, Clear Lake, CA and Sutter Creek, CA. Once we even had our sister quilting getaway at one of my sister's house. She's a longarmer & was able to quilt our tops as we finished them. It was quite a productive week. We have such a great time together. It's so much more enjoyable when you're quilting with people you love. Happy 18th birthday, Kimberly, & everyone at Fat Quarter Shop. You're such an inspiration, & I've learned so much from your tutorials. Thanks for all you do. ❤
My husband surprised me on my 60th! He rented a building that had lots of games available and flew all my children and grandchildren in!!! My daughter made some delicious and beautiful cakes and another daughter brought lots of yummy food! It’s a great memory that I hold dear ❤️
My favorite birthday memory was when I turned 35. I was a single mom of three and active duty Navy. When I got home my house was clean!!!!! My kids were all sitting in the family room waiting for me. I was so happy. My son said he would watch his sisters so I could go out with a friend. As I was getting ready to go my friends started showing up at my door with food. I didn’t know what was going on. My kids organized a surprise birthday party for me!!!! Even made me a cake!! My heart was so full!!! Not a funny story but my kids are just amazing!!!
My favorite birthday memory was when my daughter turned 18. We had a dinner at Wild wings and asked everyone to bring 18 of something...... she received 18 fingernail bottles, 18 hugs and kisses candy, a 18 wheeler truck (my dad drove semi's). There were $18 in one dollar increments, 18 pieces of gum, 18 marbles, 18 ribbons for her hair so on and on. It was so much fun and there are more that 40 people in my immediate family so it was really fun watching everyone really interested to see what was in the presents. Thank you for all you do for us. Happy Birthday to you!!!!! I love the free patterns you released today. Can't wait for Heartfelt..... Have a great year Kimberly and Kevin......... Hugs from Minnesota
My favorite Birthday Memory is a my 40th. My best girlfriends took me away to the beach at a resort. We had the best time with all my favorite people and things. I feel very lucky to have such wonderful friends in my life! Happy Birthday to FQS!
So growing up, my twin sister and I would always get matching or color coordinated outfits (until about middle school). I think one of the best ever gifts was customized t-shirts with “I’m Renee” and “She’s Sarah” on the back and vice versa. ❤️ Happy 18th Birthday Fat Quarter Shop! 🍰🍨
Childhood birthdays are my favorite memories. We had a tradition with birthday cake, candles and gifts with relatives and always had a photo taken at the kitchen table surrounded by all the things I mentioned. We didn’t take many photos so these are precious to me.
My best birthday was when I was 20-21. It was my wedding day, birthday. And was coming into Easter. Very memorable. That was 50 years ago. Love your videos. Only been sewing and quilting since I was 70.
I love watching you live.(I can't as much now due to work). I appreciate how difficult coming up with fresh content every week but you make it look easy and seamless even when there are mistakes. You & Kevin & your team are amazing. Thank you for always sharing! Congratulations on 18 years!
Kimberly, I appreciate that you share your love of perfection but yet you are willing to say, ‘please do what works for you’! I have only watched the past year so this is my first birthday celebration to watch! But I appreciate your helping me to be more detail oriented at my piecing and cutting! Happy Birthday!
My favorite birthday memory is from when I turned 40. My brother-in-law showed up at my office with a wheelchair decked out with "over the hill balloons" and streamers. He pushed me all over the department loudly telling all it was my 40th. Everyone was cheering and laughing. I was kinda embarrassed, but it ended up being fun! Happy 18th birthday! Hope you are still going for your 40th! (but watch out for wheelchairs!)
My birthday is on St. Patrick's Day and one year back in the 60's my Mother made me the most awesome bellbottom pants and matching top. The fabric was a huge floral print in lime green and orange. I got to wear it for my birthday and I didn't get pinched. I was so very proud of this outfit that my Mom had made especially for my birthday. Thank you for such an awesome Behind the Seams today. Congratulations on 18 fabulous years FQS!!!
As a small child I loved the comic strip Snuffy Smith. For my birthday, my sister made me a cake and decorated it with Snuffy and his wife. All of us kids were dressed in hobo style and we had a blast! 53 years later, it's still one of my favorite memories. Happy birthday, Kimberly and the entire staff. The same sister came and took care of me in 2017 and 2019 when I was going through bouts of cancer. We would sit and binge watch your TH-cam. You are so funny and creative. Looking forward to the next 18 years. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! May everyone be well, busy, and kind.
Congratulations Kimberly and Kevin and Fat Quarter Shop. Yay! It’s fantastic. Happy 18th and many more. It’s interesting that I remember remember only one childhood birthday. I turned 13 and got a wristwatch. I felt so grown up. I had my one and only birthday party and my dress was unforgettable. It cemented my love of nice cotton fabric, vintage styling, and perfect colour combinations. It was a beautiful pink with the perfect cream trim. I could just about eat that dress. I wish I still had it, even if it doesn’t fit anymore. Thanks so much for years of quilting inspiration, fun and absolutely helpful tutorials.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE FQS and you Kimberly for your quilting passion. So...my funniest birthday memory is: my birthday is Halloween ( I treated my parents, just for the record) and one year when I worked for a grocery store as a cashier while going to college (UCLA), I deessed up as a pregnant nun. I won the "most creative" award whichnnof course today I don't recall what the award was...but so fun, and so many fun comments from my customers! Merry Christmas Kimberly (and family) and Team. YOU ALL DESERVE THE VERY BEST!!! See you in 2022 (and yes it is difficult to believe 2021 is almost over and we are rolling into 2022!)
My favorite birthday memory was turning 16. My learner's permit had come in the mail and my Mom's friend took it and wrapped it in 16 different boxes!! Thanks for all that you do to help me be a better quilter and cross stitcher.
I feel your pain. I was born on the January 3rd.
During Covid-19 you have really helped new and experienced quilters keep going and feel less isolated.
Happy birthday, FQS! I love all of your videos, both quilting & cross stitch. I’m addicted!
Happy Birthday FQS and thankyou for all you do. 💖💖💖
Loved this live steam (even though I had to watch it later).
Happy Birthday. Great pattern and fabrics. Hope you both have many more fun years. Love the Fat Quarter Shop.
Happy Birthday and thank you for the 18 candle quilt pattern! Started my quilt today using all purples! Again thank you!
