I’m definitely team Cottage Core. That’s just my lifestyle. Flowers from the garden, craft projects on the table and collected items from near and far.
I am team both! I really have been decorating like this for over 20 years My Great Aunt Alma got me started Its what you had to do with and kept adding new and old through the years together! And what you handcraft yourself! Love you guys! God Bless you!
Cottage core definitely. I have some of my Grandmothers wedding gifts. Not sure of the date, but she got married in 1920 and my mother was born in 1921. So her wedding gifts are real antiques. I use them and always think of her when I do. Have no idea of the value, but it doesn’t matter to me as I would never sell them.
I think that cabinet was a curio cabinet. They would keep unusual items in them, like shells, rocks, they could put them out to have conversation pieces. No TV in those days. Wonderful haul. I just made a flip video using DIY products and your paper. I put down your web in the description box.
I think of cottage core as most used items to create comfy cozy ( blankets, baskets, furniture, dishes, etc) mixed with most sentimental items gathered and displayed over time....which to me equals eclectic....So I love boho and cottage core...living on a farm for 23 yrs and have horses...boho mixed in bc a lot of horse decor reminds me of southwest which leans toward boho. We have certainly gathered items over time and display our favorites. Great haul...thanks for sharing 😊kim
I wish my thrift stores were priced like yall's!! It I very hit or miss depending on who is working at the time. Love to thrift! Love y'all's channel!! Thank you for all your inspiration!!
Loved the shopping trip.. you know how to spot the gems ! Cottage core / Olde World Eng/ Fr country house look -- comfy & interesting -- copper / pewter/ silver/ China pieces/ crystal ... Company loves to come for an evening & dinner...!
I love your youtube channel with all the decor ideas. It's so cool to see a couple doing this together. I just love love cottage core. It's so appealing to decorate with in your home. Keep up your passion for decorating and your creativity.
The 8 sided thing wrh a the drawers was probably used i an apothecary to segregate herbs or in a sewing shop to hold threads, floss,or decorative trims. Look for plant dust or threads.
That big yellow workbench would make a great island, or store counter....and it's BOHO Yellow! I saw it in one of your earlier shots of that antique salvage store, and was hoping you would film it up close! Yellow is a great color to add to a shop or booth, to draw people in!
Yes , I agree! Buy what you like & you'll find a way to fit it in to your life -- older items in the shops are the high - end quality pieces of years past -- would you like a plate from France or the Dollar Store ?
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm so excited to learn more about defining and recognizing country core decor. Thanks for all your hard work!!!!!
I use both. I am a great believer in creating my house with things I love. So growing up in the sixties, I definitely have the hippie chick vibe , but my house has also been very French country for years. I also love primitive. It works for me!
@@TheLisasmilineyes Goodwills, etc =lot of high priced junk… I’m in NC also👍🏻😁… wish more people would open some good thrift stores and put goodwill etc to shame…👍🏻I mean price the stuff and move it..👍🏻
@@mountaingirl1797 amen. Everything around here is crazy. And to think all of Goodwill stock is donated. I don't understand. I know for a fact that they crush what doesn't sell. Why not price better and keep it out of landfills
You know what my style is? If I like it, it’s goin in!! I’ve always been that way!! And it works!! I would say French Country for sure, even my house was listed as French Country in the listing. Then Farmhouse, Cottage Core...I want my home to be warm and inviting, so I love rich, deep colors, I LOVE Lamps and like to put warm bulbs that are no more than 25 watts, it gives the rooms a warm glow. I LOVE my roosters, and will not part with them!! I love copper, pewter, some tarnished silver. I also love heavy silky fabrics, burlap and tapestry’s!! No new age modern stuff for me! To me that feels cold and uninviting!! I’ve just always called myself eclectic, maybe I’ve really been French Country/Cottage Core all along... I was in our local Goodwill the other day, and as I was looking, I kept thinking Zeb says this, Jamie says that, lol, but it really did help me!! So TY!! And thanks for the fun video!!! I would love to see some more like it. Maybe take us along on some Saturdays?? PLEASE, PLEASE lol. God Bless guys🙏
I’d love to see some wall space dedicated to a gallery installation of your salvaged antique wood pieces. Couldn’t help thinking that when I saw the small heap on your table. Seriously made me think of staging a leather chair next to it etc.. 😂
One thing that is missing on your pretty shelves with your enamel, your old bottles, is a lovely trailing plant not to big that will give you a splash of green.
Loved this video so much! I have one of those fold out triple candy dishes. My favorite thrift store pieces were the mule things that goes around the neck and those gourds, my favorite antique was the small drawer cabinet that could spin!!! Great pieces. I saw some of it on Saturday night’s live! I like a little of both and I like both separately, however, my house is kinda French Country Farmhouse, with lots of color!
Hello, lots of awesome finds!! I fill like cottage core has a lot more color and is very eclectic it even lens itself to apothecary in my Opinion !! I feel like botanical it really work maybe even some taxidermy🤷♀️ I’m team Cottage core !!
I’m definitely team Cottage Core! I so appreciate your help on this, though. Even more content on building a collection... how to style a room etc... for C.C. Would soooooo be appreciated! Xoxo
I had to laugh 😂 at the tarnished silver wire basket/bowl. I have one in my house. I have one for sale in my tiny booth. I see them in almost every thrift store I shop in, and I now see you buy one. I have got to wonder if these silver basket sightings are trying to tell me something, lol. I would love to know if you are going to make something out of it or just sell it as is. I just wonder why I am being haunted by them! Too funny!
I'm more Team "Oh I Like That!" Sometimes "that" is on the Primitive side, which I think fits more with Cottage Core than Boho. But sometimes "that" is plants all over my house and the wall behind my couch is covered in vintage mirrors. I bought a huge mirror that I'm pretty sure dates back to the 1920s. The mirror has flowers on it, which might be more Cottage Core, but it's in a collection of mirrors that is more boho. lol I think I love them both.
Time stamp 0:52 butterscotch and black plate. You could put a sign above that big horse/cow pull, "MY YOKE IS EASY" JESUS...!!!! LOL This is fun, thanks. Green leaf tea pot 7:41. These items are what I am seeing on the cottagecore vids. I personally tend to lean towards shabby chic and french country. You got it!!!! I just saw!
I love cottagecore mixed with Scandinavian notes. Next time I film I'm going to try filming while I'm at the thrift store like you guys! Love the baskets you found :)
OH MY GOODNESS …. that Octagon Cabinet ….. !!!! There is one like that in the Hardware Store in the Village my Mother grew up in and it is the Hardware Store we ALWAYS WENT TO GROWING UP …. It is still open and it has the creaky wood floors and ALL THE OLD WOOD DRAWERS THROUGHOUT….I want it ALL ! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Be still my heart ! I don’t know if I’m TEAM “ Cottage or Boho”….. I think I like it all PLUS Industrial….can’t give up that part of decor! I will take all the Architectural pieces and silver 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ So what does that make me ? LOL!!!!! And oh the COPPER JAMI ! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 I would keep that too! I’ll be drinking my COFFEE tomorrow night to stay up 😳😳
I gravitate towards cottage, but not traditional cottage. More french cottage, since my grandfather was french. I like to mix my finds. I also very much appreciate boho for it's a esthetic, but stick with my gut. So probably cottage core.
I love these videos so much!! Thank you for sharing your tips and recommendations - I’m definitely thrifting this week! Jami, you have a phenomenal talent for staging. I’m seriously obsessed with your grouping and color schemes. I’m also team cottage core :)

I think of English country as Cottage core. It's nice and comfy. I was a kid in the 70's, I remember Boho. Been there, done that.
Good morning, Leslie! ☕

Cottagecore. To me Cottagecore is comfortable, soft, everything has a use.
The 8 sided thing wrh a the drawers was probably used i an apothecary to segregate herbs or in a sewing shop to hold threads, floss,or decorative trims. Look for plant dust or threads.
I am cottage farmhouse core with the Euro flair. I still love the old world look and combine it with farmhouse. It can work.
🦋I so enjoyed this video. I have a Cottage core decor, in my home.
