Was definitely worth the 25 minutes to watch. I kept seeing these in facebook groups and think they're so cool. Your video convinced me to order the vital hero (crimson) and the terriermon dim card, cherubimon is one of my favorites and I'm hoping for more angel dim cards.
Impmon is my favorite digimon and when I found out he was a GP exclusive I knew I had to make a choice. I wouldn't be able to enjoy any other DiM card knowing I couldn't get my boi, so I was about to give up the idea of getting into the VB at all despite really digging the concept and design. In the end, I managed to get the Impmon GP through buyee for a decent price (thanks to the coupon) and it got shipped to my house a few months prior to the release of the Digivice V. I am really enjoying my time with the VB and I'm glad I bit the bullet when it came to the GP DiM. I know that some mons on the Impmon card are also in Dynasty of the Evil but the overlap doesn't bother me too much because Impmon himself and classic Beelzemon + Blast Mode are still exclusive to the GP card.

What's better for starting off, Gabumon or Pulsemon with the band, I was considering Gabumon to try and make omnimon eventually. Also, I love how informative this is. Especially on a competitive standpoint, you're really knowledgeable on this. Most would just say "This is a cool watch, if you like digimon, get it" and call it a day lol
The tricky part is that currently Gabumon and Agumon’s English DiMs are only with versions of the Bracelet itself with the Agumon one being exclusive to Wal-Mart. But overall the Gabumon DiM does have more Digimon than the Pulsemon one. Thank you! I put a lot of thought into this video and how to present everything
Awesome video! I bought dynasty of evil and the terriermon dim card in preparation for the release of Vital hero. Having to wait until July was too painful so I bought the vital bracelet v with gammamon. Watching your review makes me feel a lot better about my choices and I’m so excited to start using my dim cards!
I went "special pikachu edition" by ordering the old bracelet by mistake. I still ordered the V bracelet that had Gomamon. So, I ended up with a pulsemon DiM card. I chose Pulsemon, and gave my sister Gomamon. It feels like the Digimon is calling when the green light shows while it is off the wrist. The arm bands are hard to keep on at times. I hope they design the usual arm bands found on watches. If they ever make another Digimon Story game, they have to add these new Digimon to the game. I used to raise Chao in Sonic adventure/Sonic advance. So it's cool how they even they feel like Digimon now, considering I got a Tails Chao from an iso of the summer 2003 demo disc from Dolphin. Now it is sitting in a Sonic Advance 2 GBA cartridge, thanks to mGBA being able to connect with Dolphin, and bring back the save to a GBA cartridge.
I've been considering Dynasty of the Evil, I love all the differing Digimon on it. Definitely has the most interesting looking lineup to me at least. I also really like Ancient Warriors, Gammamon, and Hermit in the Jungle. Ancient Warriors is very expensive unfortunately but all the dragon digimon are very fun so if you like dragons specifically go for Guilmon EX or Gammamon. Hermit in the Jungle/Nu Metal Empire is the best double pack so far in my opinion as the rosters are great, fun, and the spritework is very high quality overall

The English DiMs so far are Pulse City, Wolf Howl and Dinosaur Roar which are pack ins for different color Vital Heroes as well as three two packs being Volcanin Beat/Blizzard Fang, Titan of Dust/Infinite Tide and Hermit in the Jungle/Nu Metal Empire
Great Video, I've had my Digivice V since around October, and so far I've only grabbed EX1 with Agumon and Gabumon. I wanted some new Dims, so thanks for the recommendations.
So far I have been playing with the Gammamon and Terriermon dim cards. I enjoy them but I struggle getting the evolution lines I care for and instead get the more evil looking Digimon. Luckily I found that website you showed that have the evolution line requirements for the Digimon which should help out with that. When you reach mega is there a way to start over and try another evolution line? Also do you play with the Ultraman and Kamen Rider dim cards? I have a few of them and like them alot. Currently I'm playing with the 6 Ultra brothers set.

Basically, when you hit a Mega level, there’s no more evolutions to do, so you could transfer the Digimon to the app, then reload the DiM and start a new Digimon I decided to focus on just the Digimon DiM cards, but I did pick up the Zero-One set so I’m going to try that out soon
Very informative video! I knew OF these, but I didn't know a lot and with the recent announcement of the US version, my curiosity was certainly piqued. My only Digivice experience in the past was with the US release of the D3, which I remember really enjoying, and these look to have quite a few nice improvements over that. (The whole interfacing with the app for a list of all your trained Digis gives me Pokémon GO vibes.) Makes me very tempted to get the Black (Pulse City) Vital Hero as well as that Japanese Guilmon DIM since I love Tamers so much. (Blows that the Impmon one's release was so botched. He'd usually be my go-to. Hopefully he'll get another lease on life through the Vital Hero DIMs.)

Also Terriermon's Dim has Golden Rapidmon. A form that even bandai themselves often forget (I don't even know if they made a digivolving toy of it) and it's one of the two most powerful Armour Digimon. While Magnamon ended up joining the Royal Knights in lore, G. Rapidmon was just sort of left to be forgotten. Which is a pity since he not only appeared in the 3rd movie (or part 3 of the global release) but also was later remade into the tamers rapidmon later; making golden rapidmon the original. Personally I like to think Golden Rapidmon is some kind of Holy Royal Knight. Being linked to both Magnamon and the brother digimon of Lopmon; it would be an interesting way to have them interact, like a diplomat or messenger.
@@true_neutral3378 Kinda. For some reason he's an ultimate form and not a mega, even though magnamon who was created at the same time was also a mega armour. This means g. rapidmon can somehow turn into magnamon which doesn't really make sense since normal rapidmon is also an ultimate; so why would the armour version be just as strong if it's supposed to be an upgrade? You're right though, he is in cyber sleuth, but sadly it's the weird nerfed version they often use. :(
This was a super helpful explanation! I ordered the English one and a few DIMs to go with it the other day that should be getting here on Friday. It's my first proper exposure to Digimon, so I just kinda picked the ones that stood out to me with the mons on it, so it was cool to see the Gammamon, Blizzard Fang and Pulse City ones mentioned.
I'm pretty sure that Dynasty of the Evil is the first DiM I completed. At this point I have the monodramon DiM bought on buyee, and just waiting to get it shipped out.

So a friend got me the Vital Bracelet BE which came with an enhanced Gammamon Dim card. One with 3 rookies and a bonus Jogress. And I like how I got got in The Nu Metal dim card a few days ago then found a video validating my choice. But the Dim I want the most is the Metabots dim. Yeah it doesn't give you as much, but that dim is more quality of Digimon than quantity of Digimon.

All the Japanese DiMs and English DiMs work in both regions devices. The only difference is that the Digimon name text will be in English or Japanese depending on the region their from
For 160$ cad I got Blue starter, 2 pack with nu metal and hermit, Guilmon, and gammamon, was looking at getting agumon but for my first purchase I wasn't wanting to pay 60+ for a Japanese version or 150+ for starter with augie.
This is my question, I really want the bracelet black, but the first Digimon I want is Agumon (that comes with the red bracelet) If I buy the black one, can I choose the first digimon? or it comes with the DiM?
The Black one comes with the Pulsemon DiM card so you’ll start with Pulsemon However if you can find it, there was a two pack of the Agumon and Gabumon DiM cards released in Japan

Even as a more casual Digimon fan I felt that NuMetal city is the best DiM card, but that’s mainly because I have a huge affinity for metallic and robotic digimon

Kinda peeved that Kuzuhamon and Sakuyamon Miko mode are exclusive to Renamon GP, although stat wise they aren't too high up there. Maybe they'll release a Renamon BE memory with everything on there.
I would really like it if they released Pulse City separately as an option. I'd like to get it but I don't want the black vital hero as the one I already have for the Kamen Rider and Ultraman VBMs is black. So I don't really want two vital bracelets of the same color.
There's the new vital bracelet BE coming up that will apparently be backwards compatible with both DiM cards and VBM cards. And it's apparently coming out in like 6 different colors.
Thanks! Seems like most of what makes a good dim is subjective... if you like the characters, go for it! But it's good to know there are some cards that don't offer that much value (evolution lines) which should always be avoided.
Are they all basically the same in letting you obtain, train, and evolve new mons? Some have an extra over others Are the mons also added to the wild to fight against?
Gotcha thanks! I forget which game it was but it only let you fight against your own evo line. I'd want to avoid that. Think it was an earlier bracelet (possibly a digivice before X)...
I just got my Virtual Bracelet yesterday and this helped a lot. Thanks for the info! I'm working on pulsemon. Also I didn't know that there was more than one type of bracelet. Would changing to the one that doesn't track heart beat be recommended or easier?
Its definitely easier. The first model Viral Bracelet would sometimes stop raising the Digimon if it was detecting too low of a heartbeat even if it was still being worn. I just recently posted a video comparing the different Vital Bracelets and I have some more details there

The original app is good. Just needs some mild life improvement upgrades. Example: change your digimons sleep schedule to match your own. Or an smoother user interface.
So, what are your thoughts on great dims with the new ones added I'm just looking for an excuse for me to irresponsibly spend on the frontier dims. I need something to fill my holster since I bought it before the vital hero came out
Purchased dinosaur roar. Misunderstood what I had purchased as I was pleasantly surprised when I had black agumon. Unfortunately I had already purchase mad black war and secret black howl combo pack.
With the release of the BE, which possess a SD memory card of sorts, now I'm at odds. I don't have enough arms to equip all these bracelets 🤣 To add to the topic, the best DiM card to get for raids and point farming on the app is Volcanic Beat. Ancient Volcamon has the highest stats of all the digimon in the current DiMs (haven't checked Espimon's nor Ryuudamon's yet, they came a few days ago). He's ugly AF but point farming is a breeze even against other Mega Vaccine, you win by default and I can't stress how broken that guy is OMG.
I hear ya on that 🤣. I’m debating getting the Red and Blue Vital Heroes just for the DiMs but right now I’m waiting to see how much the Digivice-VV version of the BE is going to be since I need that one for my Digivice collection as well
Would the Ultraman Vital Hero work with Digimon DiM Cards? I live in Mexico and Amazon has that one for significantly less money than any of the Digimon ones, cheap enough to get that and one of those DiM 2 Packs for around the same of a Vital Bracelet or Digivice BE. Also, is that version water resistant? I heard the original versions weren't and I want this to also work as an everyday watch.
If Getting the English Hero Bracelet and using a Japanese DiM will the name appear as Japanese ? Also same question in reverse, if I was to get say the new BE bracelet, or say the Japanese equivalent to the Hero ( V ) using an English DiM will the name appear in English or Japanese on the Bracelet? As I’m undecided if I should get the Hero or wait out the new BE version
It looks like the language is tied to the DiM card so it depends on which region the DiM card is from Vital Hero is likely cheaper than the BE. The BE is programmed a lot different which allows for some different gameplay and activity, but also has its own DiM cards in the BE memories as well as working backwards with all prior DiMs. If you’re undecided I’d wait and see what the final retail price of the BE is as well as the overall features since we haven’t gotten those full details yet

Is it possible to get a DiM used, or are they bound in some way to the first Vital Bracelet to use them? I've got a Vital Bracelet BE on the way and was thinking I might try to find DiMs that came packaged with earlier models used if that's a viable option.
So you can get a used DiM card, but make sure you have a Vital Bracelet BE to use it on. The original Vital Bracelet has a programming lock that happens to them after they are used twice. But the BE removes that lock
I got the original vital brace but was very disappointed that I couldn’t use it properly because of my dark skin tone so I was never able to use any of the initial dimcards I bought. Will this new English release actually be useable or is it the same technology? I don’t wanna waste my money importing dims If it doesn’t even work. Thanks for the video. Great content.
I haven’t heard of the Digivice-V having trouble with darker skin as they changed the programming from trying to detect a heart rate to just detecting it being worn. The original VB having that problem was really shortsighted on Bandai’s part and something that should be fixed by now

I’m going to buy one, but trying to sort out which one I don’t have to be constantly moving around while wearing it in order to level my digimon. Do you think it's worth getting the US Vital Hero over the Vital Bracelet BE (which evens has Microsd card support) that just got announced? Because I was so confused on which one to buy at launch since their were like 3 releases lol
It depends on if you want to import the BE, how much the BE costs and if you want the fanciest version first and if the text language means a lot to you or not

The arena battles cycle through at different points in time through the month. So there's sometimes several hours or a day each month where it resets rankings
I’m planning a video comparing the Vital Bracelets themselves. The short answer is to look for the characters you want (Digimon vs Ultraman vs Kamen Rider) and then the pack in DiM card for which character you like. For Digimon the best available now is the Japanese Digivice-V version or the English Vital Hero
ehehe here's he thing... I only have one liked character in the metal pack, while I love every single line for the terriermon one... definetly putting the metal one on ym avoid list due to not really liking it's lineup

I have a question, say if I just want one of my digimon to stay in its Ultimate form. does it automatically turn into a mega anyway or can I stop it from doing so?
As long as its on the vital bracelet it will try and digivolve to Mega every 24 hours if conditions are met. You can cancel the Digivolve by holding down the lower button until it cancels out. They won’t digivolve while in the app

anyone have the same problem as i do? my battle screen only has practice battle for options. the app wont let me register my Dandai ID coz i m in Canada, and i tried to reinstall the app and ended up losing all the data
I had originally conceived a segment for them but I cut it for a few reasons. 1 - The VBMs for Ultra/Rider run on different tech and don’t work with the same bracelets as Digimon 2 - I haven’t picked up any of them before as they weren’t fully compatible with what I had 3 - They might be on their way out the door as there hasn’t been any further announcements for either line beyond Vol 4 of each and those got shifted from Retail to PBandai

The latest Japanese Vital Bracelet is the Digivice-V version but there is a new model that works different and has different DIM cards called the Vital Bracelet BE in the next few months The english Vital Hero just released in the US

Makes me very tempted to get the Black (Pulse City) Vital Hero as well as that Japanese Guilmon DIM since I love Tamers so much. (Blows that the Impmon one's release was so botched. He'd usually be my go-to. Hopefully he'll get another lease on life through the Vital Hero DIMs.)

Also Terriermon's Dim has Golden Rapidmon. A form that even bandai themselves often forget (I don't even know if they made a digivolving toy of it) and it's one of the two most powerful Armour Digimon.
While Magnamon ended up joining the Royal Knights in lore, G. Rapidmon was just sort of left to be forgotten. Which is a pity since he not only appeared in the 3rd movie (or part 3 of the global release) but also was later remade into the tamers rapidmon later; making golden rapidmon the original.
Personally I like to think Golden Rapidmon is some kind of Holy Royal Knight. Being linked to both Magnamon and the brother digimon of Lopmon; it would be an interesting way to have them interact, like a diplomat or messenger.

For some reason he's an ultimate form and not a mega, even though magnamon who was created at the same time was also a mega armour.
This means g. rapidmon can somehow turn into magnamon which doesn't really make sense since normal rapidmon is also an ultimate; so why would the armour version be just as strong if it's supposed to be an upgrade?
You're right though, he is in cyber sleuth, but sadly it's the weird nerfed version they often use. :(
This was a super helpful explanation! I ordered the English one and a few DIMs to go with it the other day that should be getting here on Friday. It's my first proper exposure to Digimon, so I just kinda picked the ones that stood out to me with the mons on it, so it was cool to see the Gammamon, Blizzard Fang and Pulse City ones mentioned.

So a friend got me the Vital Bracelet BE which came with an enhanced Gammamon Dim card. One with 3 rookies and a bonus Jogress. And I like how I got got in The Nu Metal dim card a few days ago then found a video validating my choice. But the Dim I want the most is the Metabots dim. Yeah it doesn't give you as much, but that dim is more quality of Digimon than quantity of Digimon.

All the Japanese DiMs and English DiMs work in both regions devices. The only difference is that the Digimon name text will be in English or Japanese depending on the region their from

The Black one comes with the Pulsemon DiM card so you’ll start with Pulsemon
However if you can find it, there was a two pack of the Agumon and Gabumon DiM cards released in Japan

Kinda peeved that Kuzuhamon and Sakuyamon Miko mode are exclusive to Renamon GP, although stat wise they aren't too high up there. Maybe they'll release a Renamon BE memory with everything on there.

I would really like it if they released Pulse City separately as an option. I'd like to get it but I don't want the black vital hero as the one I already have for the Kamen Rider and Ultraman VBMs is black. So I don't really want two vital bracelets of the same color.
They really should a Pulse City or Impulse City single release. There’s enough versions of the VB that don’t include it to be worth doing
There's the new vital bracelet BE coming up that will apparently be backwards compatible with both DiM cards and VBM cards. And it's apparently coming out in like 6 different colors.
Thanks! Seems like most of what makes a good dim is subjective... if you like the characters, go for it! But it's good to know there are some cards that don't offer that much value (evolution lines) which should always be avoided.

All dims make you fight against the mons on the card which are the same grouped evo line*

Its definitely easier. The first model Viral Bracelet would sometimes stop raising the Digimon if it was detecting too low of a heartbeat even if it was still being worn.

The original app is good. Just needs some mild life improvement upgrades. Example: change your digimons sleep schedule to match your own. Or an smoother user interface.

With the release of the BE, which possess a SD memory card of sorts, now I'm at odds. I don't have enough arms to equip all these bracelets 🤣
To add to the topic, the best DiM card to get for raids and point farming on the app is Volcanic Beat. Ancient Volcamon has the highest stats of all the digimon in the current DiMs (haven't checked Espimon's nor Ryuudamon's yet, they came a few days ago). He's ugly AF but point farming is a breeze even against other Mega Vaccine, you win by default and I can't stress how broken that guy is OMG.

Would the Ultraman Vital Hero work with Digimon DiM Cards? I live in Mexico and Amazon has that one for significantly less money than any of the Digimon ones, cheap enough to get that and one of those DiM 2 Packs for around the same of a Vital Bracelet or Digivice BE.
Also, is that version water resistant? I heard the original versions weren't and I want this to also work as an everyday watch.
I don’t have the Ultraman Bracelet to test the Digimon cards in it. I think there’s a video out there testing compatibility.

It looks like the language is tied to the DiM card so it depends on which region the DiM card is from
Vital Hero is likely cheaper than the BE. The BE is programmed a lot different which allows for some different gameplay and activity, but also has its own DiM cards in the BE memories as well as working backwards with all prior DiMs. If you’re undecided I’d wait and see what the final retail price of the BE is as well as the overall features since we haven’t gotten those full details yet

As long as you’re using the Digivice-V or the Vital Hero, they can be used on up to 3 devices
if they can make the heart rate sensor more accurate and more features that allow you to interact with your digimon. vital bracelet would be big
also if they can manage the vital points where you dont lose all of them staying idle for bit
I think the new Vital Bracelet BE is improving on those features so we’ll see when it releases

Is it possible to get a DiM used, or are they bound in some way to the first Vital Bracelet to use them? I've got a Vital Bracelet BE on the way and was thinking I might try to find DiMs that came packaged with earlier models used if that's a viable option.
So you can get a used DiM card, but make sure you have a Vital Bracelet BE to use it on. The original Vital Bracelet has a programming lock that happens to them after they are used twice. But the BE removes that lock

I got the original vital brace but was very disappointed that I couldn’t use it properly because of my dark skin tone so I was never able to use any of the initial dimcards I bought. Will this new English release actually be useable or is it the same technology? I don’t wanna waste my money importing dims If it doesn’t even work. Thanks for the video. Great content.
I haven’t heard of the Digivice-V having trouble with darker skin as they changed the programming from trying to detect a heart rate to just detecting it being worn. The original VB having that problem was really shortsighted on Bandai’s part and something that should be fixed by now
As someone with darker skin the digivice V works fine. I also had the original and had issues with it.

It depends on if you want to import the BE, how much the BE costs and if you want the fanciest version first and if the text language means a lot to you or not

All of these work with the BE but the BE needs an update to use the Impulse City DiM. Lost in Translationmon here on TH-cam has a guide for updating

If you put the DiM into the VB without transferring a Digi out of the app, it starts it fresh from the baby stage

The arena battles cycle through at different points in time through the month. So there's sometimes several hours or a day each month where it resets rankings

The short answer is to look for the characters you want (Digimon vs Ultraman vs Kamen Rider) and then the pack in DiM card for which character you like. For Digimon the best available now is the Japanese Digivice-V version or the English Vital Hero

The bracelet doesn’t have any onboard data without a dim so it won’t really have anything to do
I have a question, say if I just want one of my digimon to stay in its Ultimate form. does it automatically turn into a mega anyway or can I stop it from doing so?
As long as its on the vital bracelet it will try and digivolve to Mega every 24 hours if conditions are met. You can cancel the Digivolve by holding down the lower button until it cancels out. They won’t digivolve while in the app

I had originally conceived a segment for them but I cut it for a few reasons.
1 - The VBMs for Ultra/Rider run on different tech and don’t work with the same bracelets as Digimon
2 - I haven’t picked up any of them before as they weren’t fully compatible with what I had
3 - They might be on their way out the door as there hasn’t been any further announcements for either line beyond Vol 4 of each and those got shifted from Retail to PBandai
