Went down this same trail in May 2023 pulling an off road trailer. There is a portion of the trail that took significant damage from the storms and made it pretty interesting being almost 40 ft. long. Not sure if there is any plans for the Forestry Dept. to work on the trail or not. But I would suggest that to get through an approx 2 mile stretch you should have 4x4 with high clearance.

Its actually pronounced press kit. The tourists call it press cott. It sure is beautiful up here. Hope you enjoyed our trails. You should try the trails out of Jerome.

The locals of Prescott are mentally ill and struggle with English. The town was named after William H. Prescott. And he pronounced his name "Pres-cott". Somewhere along the way the locals decided they were special and needed a unique pronunciation. They're still wrong.

Been in AZ for 25 years, it's pres cot. It's literally named after someone named Prescott. Their name is pronounced Prescott. Any goobers go out of their way to pronounce it "preskitt"

@@bIoodypingu Wrong. The pronunciation comes from the family who wished to distinguish themselves from Boston British loyaist Prescotts during the revolution. The patriot Prescotts, (William, who led the fight at Bunker Hill) pronounced their name as "Preskitt". It's THEIR name; THEY know how to pronounce it.

@@johnhouchins3156 So you're proving me right without even knowing it. You're acknowledging the fact that their name was literally pronounced pres scot and they "changed it." The name had, and still has, a definitive pronunciation, some goober in 1783 doesn't get to change that. "Preskitt" wasn't even a thing until recently. There was a radio station there called "KNOT" and I'll let you guess how they pronounced it in the 50s.

Those mountains in the area where they are is in the Bradshaw Mountains. The highest peak in the Bradshaw Mountains is Mount Union. I have been to Crown King many years ago and it’s beautiful up there amidst Ponderosa Pines.

I believe the wildfire in that area was the Goodwin Fire from the summer of 2017

I would love to go on a ride with you. We just got a Jeep, and don’t really know anyone in the Phoenix area that have Jeeps. That is if you live down here now!

There's a good chance the burns are from earlier this summer. That whole range was full of forest fire.
