- Consider a 5-m-high, 8-m-long, and 0.22-m-thick wall whose representative cross section is as given in the following figure. The thermal conductivities of various materials used, in W/m·K, are kA = kF =2, kB =8, kC =20, kD =15, and kE =35. The left and right surfaces of the wall are maintained at uniform temperature of 300°C and 100°C, respectively. Assuming heat transfer through the wall to be one-dimensional, determine (a) the rate of heat transfer
Porf, why you take the long only 1m
Not 8m as is it?
Bro the area will be 40m square cuz you work on the normal area which will be 5 as given * 8
Why did u take 1m depth to calculate the area?
Why did you take 1m the long of the wall?
first we take unit length with 0.12 height and at the end we calculate for whole length and height. it's at 14:35
Area of the wall is 8mx5m=40m^2, isnt it ? why didn't you use at the beginning of the problem ?
if we use in the beginning, we should divide the area accordingly to calculate R values. it's a difficult thing to do.
Thank you
Do you have any video about plate exchangers ?
thanks so much❤. I want you to know you save my life in midterm exam😭
Superd😍 well explain. Thank you❤️
From which book is this?
🎉
Great explanation!! thanks so much. I was confused about why the answer to part B was the temperature between A and B. Is it because the T2 will be the same on the right side of B so there is no need to calculate anything for D and E?
what is 5m high of thick wall? if we use the above method, the height of wall is just 0.12 m, isn't it ?
