  • Migraine and mental health have often been referred to as “invisible” diseases. It’s because of this that stigma surrounds both diseases and makes them even harder to overcome. Thankfully, there is treatment and support available to help you tackle both.
Join us as Dr. Steven Baskin, Co-director of Behavioral Medicine Services at The New England Institute for Neurology and Headache in Stamford, CT, discusses the relationship between migraine and mental health and how the two impact each other.
The Ask the Expert series webinars are supported in part by sponsorship support of Biohaven, Amgen, Lilly, Teva, Allergan and Lundbeck.

I used to have chronic migraine and some form of depression then I started working with a physical therapist who focused on desensitizing the brain stem. it took a bit of work and now I am pretty much free of both. it would be great to see more people talking about how the 2 are linked because I can totally see how they are.

Thank you so much for this informative video. I've suffered for 30+ years with daily headaches including more frequent migraines now in my early 60's. I've never been able to get an accurate diagnosis or treatment so this video has enlightened me tremendously!
I would like to know where Dr. Baskin is located if possible or if he does teledoc-type consult?

People with Familial Hemiplegic Migraine, especially with a strong family history and other concerning neurological symptoms, should consider if they have the cerebral small vessel disease CADASIL (Cerebral Autosomal Dominant Arteriopathy with Subcortical Infarcts and Leukoencephalopathy). A significant number of people with CADASIL will have migraine (with or without aura).

Has this been reposted? I commented on the original post some days ago. This post indicates it has only been up for a few hours. ???
