Thank you for sharing. I think some pillow covers would look nice in this stitch. Definitely a tote bag as well, because it seems sturdy. I've only seen the smock stitch in the Tunisian crochet technique before and some variation of this normal with a larger look size that creates a beautiful flowy fabric. I believe a fellow TH-cam Katarina used it for a dress or skirt and it looked great!
Loving the look of this stitch! I'm getting ready to make a blanket for a new arrival of my grandson 💙 and iv been looking for a pattern that I think would look great with the yarn I have for it! I just found my stitch pattern!
Gorgeous stitch, will try making my next blanket with this one, thanks so much for sharing you are a great teacher! P.S. saying Hello from New Brunswick 😊
This stitch is really neat. It reminds me of a pineapple. If it was as inclined as it probably is to snagging, it would make some pretty wash cloths. If it weren't so thick I would use it on a sweater. Maybe an accent on a sweater... hmmm.
Thank you so much for this stitch tutorial! It looks very similar to the Tunisian Smock Stitch which I love, but I have mobility issues with both my hands & wrists (I started crocheting again to help with the pain & mobility after multiple wrist surgeries) & I find Tunisian crocheting makes them worse. I've got plenty of ideas on how to use this stitch, once I've had a few practices with it! ♥️
Thank you Sara for sharing a beautiful stitch and all of your patterns and tutorials. I think I will buy the hook too. I found out the other day, the hooks I bought on Amazon with the colored handles and i have like 3 sets of those hooks--the hooks are not consistent in sizing. I guess you do get what you paid for. I see you use the Furls crochet hooks quite frequently. I think that would be a good choice too in hooks. Do you have a preference? Thanks again Sara. Wish me luck.
Hi.. I wanna ask.. You said that this stitch need an even number or multiple of two. But you start a single crochet in the second chain for the first row. So it should be an odd number for this stitch?
Very long! Because it is so dense… but the results would be gorgeous! Or you could add rows in sections of a faster pattern to work to even it out a bit :)
I’m so thrilled to learn this new pretty stitch! Thank you! Your instructions are concise and easy to follow.

Looks like it’d be good for decorative towels or possibly a good stitch for the middle of a blanket with a bordered pattern.
This is a beautiful stitch! It reminds me of Tunisian crochet!

So Pretty. I agree a bag or kitchen towel set. I'd Probably do a Towel set..It does seem like it'd take a lot of Yarn?
It may compared to some stitches as it is such a dense stitch - but it would have a lovely texture!
Great tutorial!
Thank you :)
Gorgeous stitch, will try making my next blanket with this one, thanks so much for sharing you are a great teacher! P.S. saying Hello from New Brunswick 😊
Hello! And I have lots of family in NB!

Beautiful! The minute I saw it I thought of a honeycomb ❤
Love this stitch but I bet it takes a lot of yarn to complete a project. Would be good for heavier warmer articles.

Hot pad or potholder would be my project ❤️
Is this a yarn eater? I love this stich this way I know how much yarn to buy for my bag.Thank you so much.
It is quite dense - so it will use more than some others
@@RichTexturesCrochet thank you so much ❤️
Beautiful crochet stitch pattern and so well explained. Thank you. Your crochet hook is very unusual - do you know the brand name?
I do! This is a Birchwood Crochet hook by Rowan Yarns

How long would it take to make a large blanket with this stitch?
Very long! Because it is so dense… but the results would be gorgeous! Or you could add rows in sections of a faster pattern to work to even it out a bit :)
I usually use new stitches on a washcloth.
I would use cotton and make hotpads!!
Yes!
I thought of this also. Is one layer of this thick enough for a hot pad.?
@@rheac953 Personally, I would work it holding two strands of yarn together to make it thicker, or add a backing to it :)
Where did you get your crochet hooks at
This is a Birchwood hook by Rowan Yarn :)
