I agree..but I also think it's good info to know for us people who sell handmade, vintage or any jewelry we have laying around..especially since I don't get out much to know what the trends are these days. I will always wear my personal favs no matter the trend..but it's cool knowing that some of my larger handmade pieces, that I thought were a little too big..may actually sell if I put them out there..
The take away is 'everything old is new again'. At 69, I've seen the ins and outs of jewelry, and I would say the key is to find your own style and build on it for a lifetime of enjoyment. I have 2 diamond vintage watches I wear, for me they are always in style. Love your content 💜
I'm 65 and have jewelry from my Grandmother still, to me that is vintage. 😆 All the earrings are clip on and I have some that are even screw on back earrings.
I’m glad to see minimalism on the way out. I make vintage style elaborate chandelier necklaces with an Art Nouveau flair. Hopefully, my pieces will start to get searched for and seen now.
I never follow trend I always wear what I like & think is beautiful. I loved everything you showed & as a artisan jewellery designer that got me all excited & my creative juices flowing. 😉😁
I wear what I want. I managed a jewelry store when I was younger. I have been collecting jewelry since I was pretty young. I have many different styles including vintage pieces. I love jewelry and the many looks you can create. ❤
I have fine jewelry which is antique and vintage. I love pearls. I have snake broaches because I keep snakes. My style is small jewelry which fits my slim petite frame. I have some pre WW 1 working round watches that are working. Rolex wind watches. I like shell jewelry.
Loved this video, Jamie! I kept some pendants on cords that I can pull out now! Also, if I want to make a pearl "cuff" I can wrap my pearl strand around my wrist a few times. This gives a classic but bolder, more modern look and it's a different way to wear my pearl strand because the traditional way just looks a little too "June Cleaver" to me. 😅 I also kept some of my smaller watches, including a vintage 18K gold one that was my mother's and I look forward to wearing it more. ❤
I’m 64 and as much as I adore pearls, I also feel that the traditional pearl strands are aging on me, like I’ve worn the same thing all my life. I prefer styles with some “gold” elements mixed in, like my pearl station necklace, an old favorite.🙂
Oh, I love hearing about these trends! I have some lovely pendants from a few years ago that I haven’t worn in a while so I will be pulling them out! I was introduced to the stone Larimar when we vacationed in St Thomas several years ago, and later bought a gorgeous pendant, earrings, bracelet, and ring (yes, overdid it! 🤦♀️) in that gorgeous stone! Now I can wear it again! Thanks for another great video!!! Love your style!
I’m Cherokee Indian and my turquoise will never go out of style for me! I know in my culture what my turquoise means. I have vintage squash blossoms and I have diamonds handed down for generations. I’ll stick to my native style bc that’s my signature style!!! Y’all wear what you want bc I sure am!😂❤️❤️❤️
Most of the jewelry I have worn over many years, as I have never followed any trends, were and are my handcrafted sterling silver jewelry: rings, pins, pendants, chains, set with semi-precious stones I cut-polished. Never had the money to buy bigger ticket jewelry, anyway.
I’m not Cherokee but I live in Tennessee. I own and wear a lot of sterling and native sterling jewelry. I even received a piece of native gold jewelry as a gift from a relative! Love the jewelry and the Cherokee culture, and it is still here in my area 😊
There is nothing like True Vintage quality jewelry that surpasses trends. The feel of a piece in your hand, the way it wears, and the way it lasts…. Nothing like it! And there’s plenty available for all, on channels like mine, and on ebay too, where I also sell. Enjoyed the video.
Also, as a jewelry reseller of every kind of piece of jewelry there is, and one who is very close to my many thousands of Subscribers, I have been very surprised time and time again with what people actually buy! I’ve learned just what many of your commenters are saying…. People wear what they love much more than what’s in “style”. Of course we all want to know what the trends are. That’s why even I clicked on the video. But people want what brings them joy, and very often takes them back to better times in their lives. And Vintage Costume jewelry does this in a very powerful way. People get emotional over certain pieces of jewelry! Memories long past are sparked again along with the sparkle of a piece of quality jewelry. And if these pieces weren’t made as incredibly well as they have been made, they wouldn’t be around to wear all over again, and to bring back so much pride and joy. So, trends are great to know. But what I see at this time in our world is that people are wearing pieces that take them back to better times. Thank you!
I've always enjoyed my Wilma Flintstone pearls that a beau gave me for my 21st birthday and alternately the Tahitian pearls husband gave me many years later, I never cared if they were au courant. Stay classic ladies - do you!!!
History repeats itself.... and so do fads. I have been thru big and bold, brooches have come and gone quite often, and been thru enamel fad twice . Gave away all my brass hammered 60 and 70s cuffs. Wish I kept them. Shows me how old I am...
Id love to see the trends actually worn on petite frames, maybe on you? I purposely wear minimal jewelry (not even layered) because I feel swallowed by larger or multiple pieces
If that's what makes you happy and feel good, that's awesome! I'd prefer to go around decorated like a Christmas tree, but now that I'm not as young as I was, I also don't want to make myself a target, so I've peared it down a little.
Love all your trend videos so much!! I’m all about the bow trend. Found the cutest T-shirt at Target with a bow in the back. It ties to the back leaving a small cutout in the small of the back. Comes in black, pink and tan. It’s only $15 so got it in all colors
I always loved your new jewelry trend videos! Last year I bought some shell earrings and love those and still on trend. I have a box filled with vintage small watches that I loved many years ago and that wasn't the trend until now again! I cant wait to pull those out; maybe need new batteries and anxious to wear again. Thanks for your hard work that you put into these videos!
I ❤️ bold jewelry! Yeah! I have many vintage pieces! I enjoy wearing large earrings. ❤bracelets. When wearing a necklace- I don’t wear large earrings - they might compete! Enjoy your videos!
I am so glad statement jewelry is in this year. So much easier to express yourself. It is also more noticeable, so we can use it to change up your outfits when wearing a lot of the same clothes o on repeat.
I have many “retro” pieces but they weren’t retro when I first wore them 😂. I keep my better and favorite pieces for years because they all come back around. Love pearls. I had watch rings but what are people going to do with the smart watches? Lol
I love accessories and could hardly ever find , something affordable, the right size or fit, the right color, soooo I started making my own. Took awhile for me to realize that was my purpose😊 but I love it.❤
I am not a huge jewelry wearer - will wear a necklace or earrings but never both at once - and like minimal jewelery. I do love my watches and I always wear a watch, no smart watch for me though. Even though I prefer minimal jewelery, I do like the metal cuff bracelets so I may pick up a few of those. I also want to pick up a pearl braclet to stack with my metal bracelets. I picked up a pair of small pearl drop earrings before Christmas which I am just loving. I'm in my 50's and never really wore pearls before but I am excited about them this time around so big yes for pearls!
I feel like I have commented this before But it brings me so Much Joy to experience how much you enjoy this work that you are doing!! It truly feels like a passion for you which is wonderful because your passion benefits us all so much! Thank You.
Thank you so very much! I hope and pray that my videos help others feel and look their best! It is definitely my passion and I am so grateful that I am able to do it! 💖
I is nice to know what to pull out of my jewelry boxes to wear that is “now in”, like my large flower earrings, my shell pendant and larger hanging shell earrings and my wide silver and gold metal cuffs.😊
I wore bolder jewelry when I was younger, I always had a necklace, bracelet, multiple rings and earrings on. I wore a lot of the big hoops and heavier earrings in general where the weight stretched my ear holes a wee bit. These days I prefer really minimal jewelry, stud earrings and either my charm bracelet or imposter tennis bracelet. I don't mind rings but not a huge ring wearer, I find that I don't wear necklaces really anymore at all. Like many others I just wear what I like and ignore the trends. Good video.
Not sure why I watched this as I don't really follow any trends. I like very fine precious metals jewelry, so my pieces are timeless in my view and I wear whatever I feel inspired to wear, at any time. I wear my fancy "eveningwear" jewels to the grocery store. People often stop me and compliment me on my jewelry. Some of my favorite pieces are 22K gold 19th century earrings.
This is my first time seeing your videos. I really appreciate the way you said these are the trends and that you still like some of the off trend pieces so you would still continue to wear them. Vintage and second hand pieces are my true love. I wear an old gold watch chain with a gold fob and another necklace I made with 2mm turquoise beads and another antique gold watch fob. My daily wear of rings are my wedding set on my left hand and my right hand has one antique gold signet ring, engraved with a shield, stacked with a platinum and diamond, full eternity band underneath it. On my ring finger and my huge gold signet ring with my initials. I LOVE BOLD. I will never be a minimalist. It will always be big, lush, chunky and bold for me. 😂💖
Pearls I like, along with silver cuffs and collars. The flowers looked nice. Most of the rest? Did not like them first time arround, and they did not improve with time.
Hi, so I do like the look of some bold collar necklaces, however they don't suit everyone. I wear glasses and the bold look just doesn't work as it gets too busy around the face. Thanks, that was fun and informative. Bye now.
As a undiscovered artist that’s also a jewelry fashion designer that’s born with a disability that’s microcephaly struggling academically that’s been ignored because what I’m born with and a woman and I’m a original artist , I’m still having a hard time getting trends but I’m trying to bring back vintage styr from back in 1800s - old 2000s because the styles I see not ok , people be doing bad jewelry don’t know how to put colors on there and they want new style that’s not good just like they do for music . I want everything from back then to come back and I’ve been trying to do that even mix it up. I’m trying to bring handmade rolled clay beads too sence way back too . But I would say never use pearls because there eggs and and it’s not ok doing that . Always make earrings safer for your ears with the hook . Make them long even sometimes a little heavy but not too much even if you have sensitive ears and it tearing but you need lighter earrings . If you all ever seen original art I did you’ll go crazy and if you see the jewelry I make you’ll really go crazy. Jewelry making runs in the family sence I’m a Riettie that some of us had the original Rietti last name in Jamaica . Only a true artist knows what to do when creating . 1:43
Who wants to be "on trend" and look like everyone else????? Wear what you like and what pleases you. Take any combo of brooches and/or pins and affix them to a jaunty vintage chapeau,,,
You're saying the opposite to The Style Insider for watches and bracelets. Now I don't know which to follow; use my dainty watches or my bigger ones...
One thing I don’t see being a child of parents that were in the beauty industry in the 60s and 70s people don’t wear their jewelry. Yes maybe some office executives or on Sundays at church but you just don’t see people every day wearing fantastic jewelry. It’s such a shame. I make art jewelrypeople buy it but they just don’t wear it. Don’t ever leave the house without your makeup and jewelry. I can just hear my mom saying that to everyone that came into their beauty business.
I do like some of the chunkier “gold” chains and other jewelry, but nothing too extreme. I’m a slender petite with a very small head and face, so really big jewelry can look a bit comical on me. I just don’t have the stature for it. For example, jewelry from those “mature” brands never looks right on me, they're designed for bigger, taller and heavier women. But, I don’t shop those brands much, I have fit problems with them, they use too many synthetics, and i don’t like the large, loud prints and over-bright colors they always have.
You don't have to be an expert to have an opinion. At least this lady is nice about it and not behaving in a way that she's insisting her opinion is the correct one and there's no other way to do a thing. She looks normal and not like alot of the "experts" that make a show of themselves to fake credibility. At least she doesn't have a parrot on her info bubble.
I hope we don’t go back to that big, colorful plastic jewelry, like the bubble necklaces c. Y2K. I just don’t think I could. Stacking necklaces is so hard for me without help, I can’t even fasten lobster clasps at all. I prefer one sleek cuff to a stack of smaller bracelets and am not crazy about wearing lots of stacked rings, either. Simpler is better, more elegant, in my opinion.
Got a pair of gold bow earstuds with a little stone in the middle, from my grandmother. She probably got or bought them in the 50:ies…? She’ll turn 100 this October and still look great and dresses really fine! I talk to her every weekend and visit almost every month. It’s great to have her around and talk to! She has started to give away a lot of her jewelry to relatives, mostly me and my cousin, since my mom died last fall… 😢 I have three uncles and one inwed aunt , who’s quite greedy (she has 7 siblings). I only have one female cousin and she is not that interested in grandmother (her dad’s mom) she is just into getting things of value…?!😏🙁just like her mother the inwed aunt…!😠 I cherrish my bow earrings and wear them a lot! Bye from 🇸🇪💨🌦🌳
I don't think I follow trends in any category. Also, I have never understood the trend of several layers of several necklaces in my opinion, it's just doesn't make sense. Love the video though.
I have to disagree with this video vintage jewelry never goes out of style and I think it's just depends on everyone's preference to hell with trends wear what you like
I couldn't care less about trends. Whether Jewelry, clothing, purses, shoes, some are awful. I wear what I want I am an indivudual not a trend follower.
I never stopped wearing my personal jewelry style. Jewelry is one area I ignore trends. Good jewelry makes each person distinctive IMO.
Absolutely, agree

I am 70 yrs old - I had a ring watch in 1973.....we loved them!
That's awesome!
Luv my vintage stainless steel chunky men's Movado watch. This is why I don't follow trends. I wear what I luv.
I wear my vintage brooches on my denim jackets. Love them. They are from the 30s, 40s & 50s. Rhinestone!
I’m glad to see minimalism on the way out. I make vintage style elaborate chandelier necklaces with an Art Nouveau flair. Hopefully, my pieces will start to get searched for and seen now.
I love your videos! Thank you for keeping me informed and up to date…not that I always follow the trends…still it’s fun to be in the know! 😊
I think I have every trend in my jewelry box right now! What fun.
I liked all the trends. It’s fun everything comes back around
I love the old fashioned watches for women.
All my bold vintage pieces are back!
They were NEVER NOT IN STYLE. If you love them, wear them. I'm right there with you. 💖

I'd like to know how you're an expert on what's in and what's out.
I'm not an expert. Just my humble opinion.
@@mountainmama2101 The title is, What's in, what's out, not My opinion on what's in or out!!
I wonder who decides on what the latest trends will be for 2024...😂 I make and wear simply what I enjoy and feel good wearing.
Lol...always wear my silver cuffs from the 70s....
I would like to ask who says? Who makes these decisions?
Nobody really makes the decision. It's a lot of opinion and what is available in the market.
❤
I hope we don’t go back to that big, colorful plastic jewelry, like the bubble necklaces c. Y2K. I just don’t think I could. Stacking necklaces is so hard for me without help, I can’t even fasten lobster clasps at all. I prefer one sleek cuff to a stack of smaller bracelets and am not crazy about wearing lots of stacked rings, either. Simpler is better, more elegant, in my opinion.
forget 'trends' wear YOUR trend!!
That sounds good. Wear what you love!
I only have one female cousin and she is not that interested in grandmother (her dad’s mom) she is just into getting things of value…?!😏🙁just like her mother the inwed aunt…!😠
I cherrish my bow earrings and wear them a lot!
Bye from 🇸🇪💨🌦🌳
That's neat! Thank you so much for sharing!
As far as I’m concerned, wear what you like.
Yes, you definitely should.
I just don't like minimalistic jewellery at all. I make Retro jewellery inspired by the 60's and the 70's. I use polymer clay and/or resin ❤❤❤
Regarding to this Video just EVERYTHING is trendy. So - except pearls I am withyou. Pearls, in my opinion, make look you older. Just my opinion.
😮😮I thinking I'm a trend setter 2025 romen style is my perdition 😅😅sorry if I told the future 😅😅❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊🌷🌷
Lol, thanks for sharing!
This is funny! Another utuber says the opposite!

Exactly what I was thinking!!!!
Clearly the other TH-camr is wrong.
I don't think I follow trends in any category. Also, I have never understood the trend of several layers of several necklaces in my opinion, it's just doesn't make sense. Love the video though.
Thanks for watching!
I have to disagree with this video vintage jewelry never goes out of style and I think it's just depends on everyone's preference to hell with trends wear what you like
Trends are so stupid. Classic and tasteful design is never out of style.
I couldn't care less about trends. Whether Jewelry, clothing, purses, shoes, some are awful. I wear what I want I am an indivudual not a trend follower.
SAVE YOUR MONEY - DON'T BUY JUNK
Irrelevant and boring..!
You use your hands too much when talking.
Then, DON'T LOOK! ...easy peasy.
Why would you say something like that? It’s a shame there are so many You Tube police like you.
