I adore this movie, severely underrated when people talk about animated movies, it barely gets a mention.

Mittens talking about getting declawed always get me, especially as a cat owner. I watched Bolt when I was a kid and I didn't understand the declawing part until I adopted my cats as an adult. So glad many States and cities in the U.S. are banning declawing. It's a cruel and unnecessary practice.
When I first watched it, it was in German, and the language doesn't have a word for declawing, so they used a phrase that translates roughly to "claw-trimmed". Only years later, when I first watched the movie in English, I realized what she actually said, and so many things fell into place, like why she had to extort the pigeons to survive, and how, though she threatened them with THE CLAWS, you never actually saw the claws coming out. It was so heartbreaking to realize that not only did her owners dump her, they first mutilated her and left her with basically no way to fend for herself.
Oh man it gets me every time too. I worked in rescue for years and years and declaws were so tough to get adopted because they tended to end up so fearful and dangerously aggressive (resorting to biting very easily). The idea that, at any point in time, it was an acceptable practice to amputate an animal's toes for the sake of human convenience is already stomach-turning. The idea that, on top of that, anybody elects to dump a declawed cat that has a starkly limited ability to hunt or climb is just monstrous.
@@WindierIndoors the worst part is that the veta don't explain the ins and outs of the procedure to people wanting their cats declawed. Then the owners are confused and find out and then they're mad at the vet (rightfully so) even though it's their responsibility to know the workings of a procedure THEY asked for. Then they dump or sell or re-home the cats because they don't want them anymore because the cats different cause of what THEY did to them. Makes me angry man 🙃

a long time ago, we declawed our cat (front claws only) because he was born feral but he was going to be indoor only and my parents didn't want him ruining the furniture. he lived a very long, happy life, and had no negative effects from being declawed. no pain, nothing. he even still often caught birds and mice whenever he did get outside, climbed trees, etc. i wouldn't personally declaw any of my cats now, but i think it's not as bad as people treat it. as usual, people only spread the sad/negative experiences and leave out any of the positives so that something seems far worse than it is. the perspectives people have of it now is very biased. that being said though, people who declaw their cats and then dump them (people who dump their pets in general) are disgusting trash who don't ever deserve to have pets.
This and meet the Robinsons are the most underrated but also some of the best animated movies out there tbh

my little sister was *OBSESSED* with this movie. She watched it up to 3 times every school-day and up to 5 times on other days... for about 4 -8 MONTHS. Our entire house had the entire show memorized, even though we wouldn't watch it with her.... memorization through osmosis & walking past the door.
I had a sister who did that with Shrek! But on VHS, so eventually the tape stretched and couldn't be watched any more.

Love this movie. Just wanted to let you know that the house on the truck isn't a movie set. Some houses are prebuilt and transported by truck to their resting spot. Or they could just be moving a house to a different location. It is common where I live.
1:50 I can say that having a dog in my life while growing up was something i will always remember. But its everytime again hard to see them growing old while you are still not even an adult.
As an animal control officer, I can say (sadly), that it's more common than you'd think that people purposefully leave behind their cats. Many assume that letting them outside will be fine because it can "fend for itself." I've had a handful of cases where I get called to an apartment because the tenants just took a few things and bailed, and left the cat behind.
I work in rescue, it's miserable how much this happens. I remember a really bad case when somebody packed up and left quickly. They left their cat behind, but in the house, in southern California, in the summer. By the time a neighbor noticed the cat frantically scratching at a window, it had lost all its fur and had run out of toilet water to drink. He barely made it and it took him months to recover enough to go into adoption, and years to get his coat back.

When I was in college, my parents bought a rental property. If you left a cat behind, we adopted it, but you did not get back your damage deposit. And heaven help you if a someone called looking for a tenant reference.
This movie has a profound message: the things you initially believed are not as what it seems. But when Bolt went on a so-called mission of "finding Penny" to finding himself, he developed a mindset that says: "If you (Penny) should fall into Hell, I'll fall into Hell with you."
As someone who also does not smoke, drink, and gamble, I have been to Vegas twice and there is so much to do! There's thousands of shows to watch, attractions to check out, restaurants with incredible food, and so much to see and do! There's even stuff to do for all ages! And the Grand Canyon is about a twoish hour drive! Trust me when I say you would not be bored in Vegas!

Our hotel had a vending machine with fresh individual packaged slices of cake that is restocked every morning from a famous bakery right there in Vegas. They had chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and rainbow.
When Bolt threatens to drop Mittens from the overpass unless she tells him where Penny is, the bus from Speed (1994/I, with 2525 on the roof) passes underneath.
The end credits get me wishing that this could of been turned into a Saturday morning cartoon with the focus on the animals.
Saw this movie in theaters with my moms best friend and she had recently died, so it's nice to see this again.

I just moved got to our new home last Thursday and we moved our 4 adult cats and 6 kittens no problem. It was a 3 and 1/2 day trip.

I think we don't have any super popular famous animals anymore because they cracked down on abuse and neglect in filming and it's difficult to get one single animal for filming a series or movie, usually you have to use quite a few and it's a lot of work and they don't bother with it much anymore.

I remember when I first saw this in theaters. I really shouldn't have because my dog had been put down a couple months before. This dog was white was the sweetest dog and had been with me since I was like 5 yrs old. So yeah... this movie broke me.
Kid in the 70's, teen in the 80's and we used to take selfies all the time. Many people today think they created the selfie, but it's been around pretty much since the birth of cameras. The only thing they created was calling it a selfie 😁

I am a cat person; always was a cat person. LOVE cats, and I've had a number of them over the years, but halfway through my 1st pregnancy decades ago, I became allergic to them. I tried for a considerable time to lose the allergy, but could not shake it. It really came down to having a cat or breathing; I found I liked breathing more.
It's not unusual for people to have a low-level allergy so minimal that you don't even know you have it. But it's also not unusual for the stress of pregnancy to wake it up to peak expression.
I eventually was tested for allergies. My mother has severe hayfever, and my half brother also had terrible asthma. Turns out I don't react to many common allergens: dust, pollen, mold, etc. But I'm reactive to fur. All fur, any fur. Cat fur was the first thing that disrupted my ability to breathe. Then I developed asthma, which sometimes sent me to the ER. Started taking echinacea capsules, and after a decade or two the asthma went away.
The cat allergy, though mild now, stayed. And apparently I have a very unnoticeable allergy to dog fur. So now I've become a dog person. I've serially owned 2 small dogs. I've come to appreciate dogs, but I still miss cats.
You should try taking black seed oil capsules. That, and bee pollen capsules. After my mother and I added those supplements to our regimen, our seasonal hayfever and mild allergies to our cats DRAMATICALLY reduced, to being almost non-existent.

JV 29:16 The thing on the back of that truck is actually part of a manufactured home or trailer home. They are fully built home units that can be picked up and moved. The one in this scene was half of a double wide. I actually live in one thats just a single. Basically my house is just a big rectangle split into different sections for my kitchen, living room area, two bedrooms and bathroom. I rent the plot of land my house currently sits on, but I fully own the house itself. And yes, if I decide to move I could sell the house, but I do also have the option to take my home with me.

I loved this movie so much as a kid that I named my dog bolt. He was a white chihuahua mix with big ears, and big dark brown eyes, and he was the sweetest dog. He passed away in December and this is the first time I've seen anything about this movie since he passed. So I'm probably gonna be a mess 💀

Having been through the life of owning a beloved dog and losing him to old age and a worsening neurological disease at the beginning of this year, this movie now really resonates with me deeply. I miss my boy so much, every single day I think about him and how much of a good boy he was. He was my best friend and my family and I’ll never stop missing him.
"Bolt" was my favourite animated movie till I watched "Luca". The friendship I never had in both of this movies is just so beautiful for me ❤️ And this friendship makes it so special for me. Thanks for your reaction to this one 🥰

I used to work in the cinemas when this first came out and it was my favorite movie at the time. Since I was the one playing the movies I was able to watch it like several times.
I was today years old (on my birthday even) when I learned that Superman has a dog. Well then! XD

It's not Patton Oswald who voices Rhino, it's Mark Walton who was a Disney storyboard artist (he quit Disney to join DreamWorks and then he jumped on from animation studio to another for over a decade, the latest ones documented are Kool Produktion AS and Warner Animation Group). He also voiced Barry & Bob in Home on the Range and Goosey Loosey in Chicken Little.
It's been 15 years since I watched Bolt when I was a little kid, and I rewatched it, and I wish they make the sequel 😔😔😔...

I am a crazy cat lady. And one of my cats will give me hugs , to be fair he's trying to sit on my face but i count it as a hug when im sitting up. But he's also the only cat try to hug me, most of my others have accepted short 2 sec hugs or no hugs.
SAME! My male cat will meow at me and follow me around the house until I give him a hug and carry him like a baby 😭🤣
31:30 I'm in the same boat as you, I don't smoke, gamble, party, etc. but I admit I do drink probably 5-10 times out of the year socially like at a restaurant or just on an evening in with family and friends. However, I've been to Vegas before and I have to admit there's still SO MUCH worth going there for. There's amazing concert and live show venues, absolutely DIVINE culinary options to check out, and getting to drive through the desert highways at sunset and sunrise is breathtakingly beautiful. Highly recommend!

I have three cats at my place (none are actually mine, roommates) all are holdable but only for set amounts of time and in the proper mood.
I personally have a rabbit who pretends to not like cuddles but does snuggle closer whenever she thinks I'm not paying attention. And I have a salamander who is OBSESSED with cuddles and will go on hunger strikes if he doesn't get enough attention and face rubs. He's the sweetest baby ❤❤. I love all animals, and anytime I stay with my partner I have a husky for a stepdaughter and she is so fun and entertaining.
Animals are the best 💜💜💜 I couldn't life without animal companions. My new neighbourhood has foxes and deer when I go on night walks and it is just magnificent 😍😍

Often in TV-shows when you try out a crazy idea that doesn't really mix well with the concept of it, like using aliens in action thriller super hero (dog) series, that turns off a lot of veiwers cuz it's kind of a desperate measure in order to save a show from being cancelled which ironically because of veiwer loss, it often leads to cancellations unless they have made 100 episodes (in the US) for that will enter syndication (like both Simpsons and South Park have jumped the shark and quailty has been dropped but keeps on going still today like a zombie, due to having passed the 100:th episode mark). The concept is called Jumping the Shark, coming from the sitcom Happy Days when Fonzie literally jumps a shark while water skiing.

We brought two of our you get cats with us when we moved, and one day they got out, one of them still lives around here but with another family now. The other literally ended up back at our old house over 3miles away, so we had to ask our old neighbours to take care of him seeing as he didn't wanna come with us. Miss those fellas, but they chose their homes so I'm happy for them
This is a very important movie for me, it has a strong meaning for me even I never haven't pets but I saw this movie when I was 14 and open me a new world (I read fanfictions and I wrote one). A really liked this video.
Logically, I bet that the pidgeons flew from the side and pretty close to the billboard, so that's how they didn't see the Bolt on it unlike if they flew towards it.

I used to have a lot of dogs as a kid, my dad always adopted stray dogs (I’m from Argentina so lots and lots of stray animals). But as I got older I decided to adopt a cat and discovered that I’m a cat person haha, I love animals in general tho, would totally adopt more variety of animals if it wasn’t cause my cat would eat or fight them lol (like pigeons and rats, both have bad rep but are super sweet!)
I've heard some people on the internet love this movie and others despise it. I think I'm leaning more towards the former.

Vegas does have other things. My family usually stops to see the tourist areas such as the m&m store and Hershey store. But there are some good toy stores and steak houses. And they have some great theaters (not movies, live plays) houses and beautiful indoor/outdoor shopping districts (one is fully themedas the greeks of old). Parking is a butt though. Visiting the themed hotels are fun too, you dont have to rent there to walk through, like the pyramid hotel ❤

We have had cats just placed at the front gate of the shelter, on the street, at the train Station in the middle of Winter. From all ages, but the lil kittens hurt the most.
I have been to Vegas years ago on a family trip. I didn't do any gambling or bets or drinks, I liked the buffets thought amazing. And the magic shows were pretty damn cool.
This is one of my favorite Disney movies of all time. It really isn't talked about as much as it should be. I don't even remember it being talked about much when it first came out.
But this is a movie that I could watch multiple times in one day. X3
I've had all kinds of pets when I was growing up and several types as an adult, I tend to prefer cats over all, but I adore dogs too. At the moment I have a dog and she's adorably sweet and lovable. But I do miss having cats around. I don't go in for the if you love dogs you hate cats or if you love cats you hate dogs stereotype. I love 'em all. It's just cats are usually easier to have around and need less attention and less work put into looking after them, plus I feel more at ease cuddling with a kitty as opposed to a dog that's been running around outside rolling in dirt. lol
At 23:17, there is an awesome Easter egg in this movie, but I've never watched anyone review this movie who has caught it. It's when Rhino runs off humming, "Larak, Tarath!" right after Bolt accepts him on his team. He's chanting the same thing the Thermian aliens in Galaxy Quest did, to gain strength in their task. ** MAJOR SPOILER ALERT if you've never seen Galaxy Quest before, and don't want that awesome movie ruined for you, don't read the rest of this comment!** And the Thermians were only chanting that because they admired (worshipped) Dr. Lazarus in the "Historical Records" they watched from space, then eventually came to Earth to look for their noble heroes to help them with their problem. The joke is that Rhino worshipped Bolt and believed his TV show was real, just as the Thermians believed the classic sci-fi TV series Galaxy Quest was real, and they had put the fate of all that remained of their species in asking the washed-up Galaxy Quest actors to come with them into space to negotiate a peace treaty with their violent & dangerous enemies.
I never really was a dog person, I would cuddle and play with puppies but I lost the appeal to them when they get older, since then i looked after a sick shih tzu cross puppy who had a patch of missing skin on her head so she became glued to me and she's 2 now and I still have her and she's not the best with people but she's a good girl, she was born in the family from a other dog of ours and I thought because of her head I can't give her away and she also has a kink in her tail, so she was always going to stay I just didn't know she was going to became my little baby.
Any realized that Penny's mother looks like the woman that said get ready to have some kids in Wall-E.

Well, at least Bolt performed better than most of the other Disney animated films from the early to mid-2000s (except for a Dinosaur, Lilo & Stitch, and Chicken Little that is). I really enjoyed this film for the comedy, and for the amount of heart that there was in this movie. Bolt served as proof that Disney was trying their best to return to their glory days, that’s for sure. Well, looking forward to Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs.
You were wondering about Vegas. It exists to separate people from their money. As a Nevadan, please, come, leave money behind. Then again, we have slot machines in every grocery store. There is a reason we don't have income tax. :P I love your initial reaction, and your closing one.

let's see, one is a creature who only ever wants love and to make us happy, a creature that has been by our side before we had language vs an apex stat padding predator that learned how to communicate with us to better manipulate us into helping them...that may or may not have mind controlling poop.

Theres an animated movie called "the breadwinner" by cartoon saloon.
Cartoon saloon have also done a trio of Ireland-located movies (wolfwalkers is quite the favourite among people).
But yeah, I'd love it if you watched the breadwinner/the other cartoon saloon movies:) (their first movie "secret of kells" isnt very good imo though, especially compared to the other)
