10:07 Fun fact : now that BlueSky went bankrupt and Disney bought their IPs, all the BlueSky animators came together to do a last animation together of Scrat (the squirrel/rat) finally eating his nut, ending the cycle.
Also, the line where Diego says to Manny “What’s holding you back?” And Manny responds “My family” still gives me chills to this day

@@DajahRetta Not a spoiler for any movie. It's from a series that he probably won't even watch. Heck, I haven't even heard of it until I looked it up just now.
I like how throughout the movie they repeatedly show that Manny has a good sense of danger. He notices something off about the iceberg that appears at the start and also notices that something is wrong when they are crossing the ice.
Another example of him being a good protector of the heard.
Although the first 3 movies are great and I always feel nostalgic for them. But I would never say that 4 and 5 are not worth the watch. They are not as good as the first 3 but always a few things that are enjoyable. My motto is “watch it and judge it for yourself” cause you never know if you end up liking it.

I think Ice Age 2 is the best one. That Food Glorious Food is an unexpected classic. This isn't even a musical but whoever decided to put that number in was genius.
Please watch the 4th one! It's heavy on family ties and right up your alley! Ice Age 4 is probably my second favorite next to the first movie. There's more about it that I know you'll love but I can't tell you without spoilers!

To your question about whether we'll be able to see scrat (the squirrel?) eat an acorn, after you've finished the movies you need to watch the animated short Blue Sky Studios created before they got shut down :) Its thoughtful and an emotional goodbye to the studio
Such an underrated series. You should react to Dinosaur (2000) if you haven’t already. Keep the prehistoric theme, haha. The graphics have held up really well, being a 22 year old movie. They must have been using cutting edge tech back then, to make it.
I love this movie. It was an underrated masterpiece with the music scores. It's such a great movie.

This was the first full movie I saw in theaters. (My mom tried to make me see _Spirit_ and _Herbie,_ but both times I wanted to leave after 20 minutes for some reason) and I still have a softspot for this.
29:01 It's actually the second time any of the main cast interacted with Scrat. To jog your memory, in the first movie they came across Scrat on the way to Glacier Pass, when Diego was still intending to lead them to the sabretooth ambush. They stopped to ask him for directions for a minute, but since he's nonverbal, he used charades to warn them about the sabretooth pack ahead. Diego figured out the message first and flicked Scrat away before the other two could figure it out.
The 4th movie is my favorite. So, I'd definitely recommend it. Especially since it's relatable for a lot of teenagers. Good lessons for the kids too!!! :)
Watch 4 and 5, there's no fault in getting an opinion on both of them as well. I personally only really like 3, but I still enjoy the rest

The ending, with the mammoths showing up, is my favorite scene in the entire franchise.
*Fun Fact:* the aquatic reptiles are Maelstrom the Pliosaur (green) and Cretaceous the Ichthyosaur (purple).
Scrat is always funny when he is trying to get the acorn. In fact Scrat was based on the prehistoric squirrel called Kopidodon, it lived in early Eocene. Just so you know the fact, you're welcome.
Ice age is definitely one of my childhood's most favorite film series. I recommend watching all of the movies because i personally enjoyed every single one of them but not everyone might think that way.
4th one is definitely worth watching!!! It is my favorite, you won’t regret it😄

Despite appearing in a few scenes, Cretaceous and Maelstrom are terrifyingly relentless. The latter being able to crawl on land as well
The first 3 movies are great I remember going to the theaters with my family to watch these. We didn't see 4 and 5 anymore cause we're grown ups already. It's not on the same level as the first three but in my opinion it's not really that bad. I'd still watch your reaction if you ever decide on continuing it

The light cussing they did early in this film killed me as a child with how hilarious it was for me because I didn't expect it. I can't believe they got AWAY with that in a kids movie and never had it edited, especially with how they emphasized it when speaking so it's like they're going "Yeah we're cussin rn". I almost wish they did it again LMAO.

There have been many different ice ages. They follow a climate cycle every several 10s of thousands of years. Right now we are in the opposite of the ice age but eventually there will be another
Regarding the time period this is set in: It's still the ice age, or one of them, because there were several periods in this planet's history where temperatures in general were significantly colder than today. That didn't mean the whole planet was covered in ice, though; glaciers and the like simply reached much further south than they do today, while at the same time they saved up a lot of water that later melted and made sea levels rise. For example it was possible to cross between the UK and central Europe on foot because sea levels were so low then, and therefore, coastal lines looked way different. Because of this, fish trawlers regularly find mammoth teeth or bones in their nets when fishing in the Channel between the UK and France. :) In fact, geologically speaking, every time where there are glaciers present and the poles are covered with ice, it's called an ice age... so we still live in one, as of now. However, temperatures are rising, and this is sped up by human influence (greenhouse gas, co2 etc.), so the ice is melting away (and, due to said influence, much faster than it would in a way where nature could adapt to it). The particular time period the ice age movies are set in (as far as it can be said - obviously, they're taking immense liberties :D) is likely the Würm glaciation, which ended roughly 12.000 years before today.

The villains in this movie were probably the cause of my fear of the ocean.
The Land Before Time movies are from the 90s, I think the first might have come out in 89 actually, but they are amazing! Absolute pieces of my childhood omg. There are a bunch I will admit but, in my opinion, the first 10 are the best! and the most original in terms of animation and characters... They are relatively short films too by the way so doing all 10 might not be too hard... : )

The purple one reminds me of an exaggerated Metriorhynchus even though he's said to be a Icthyosaur, for the green one most likely Globidens who's said to be a pliosaur.
There's a dog movie called Napoleon I watched it so much as a kid it's really cute.

I like The Meltdown, it’s a good follow up to the first Ice Age film imo. My favorite moment is the sequence of Sid and the mini sloths. The only con I have with Ice Age 2 is Crash and Eddy. They do have some chuckle worthy moments but mostly, they are annoying characters imo.
A lot of these animals are actually from different eras, some not even existing during the ice age, the bird penguin at 2:49 is actually hesperornis, which existed during the age of the dinosaurs, so the ice age movies are not completely accurate

Because they're made by Blue Sky Studios, unlike The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild, but I'm not bringing it up to talk about the Adventures of Buck Wild. Because Adventures of Buck Wild's animation was terrible.
But Ice Age: Scrat Tales' animation by Blue Sky looks way better than ever.

When you pulled up Ice Age 3 Dawn of the Dinosaurs, you used the wrong movie cover. That cover is for the last Ice Age movie. Ice Age 3 should have a dinosaur in the cover.
