Not related to fonts, but I always pack logo files for my clients with various sizes/formats for print and web, including JPEGs and PNGs and a small e-mail signature logo. They are organized into folders and labeled accordingly. Most of my clients have no idea what formats to use and this keeps them from calling me every time they need something. ;-) Well worth the extra 15 minutes to do this.

I do this as a photographer as well.
Several folders with crops and resolutions suitable for print, web, social platforms, etc.
It's a tiny amount of extra work initially but saves so many phone calls and work later.

    • @eshavjy

I've been trying to come up with a logo for my personal freelancing for almost a year now and I'm just struggling because my name is so hard to create. I need a logo that works as an icon and can also be used as watermarks for my photos/videos. Not a fan of cliche photography logos like cameras or red dot recording buttons or cursive with my name. But this does help narrow down what I need to focus on.

You never explained why we should not use one letter for two words. I am not an amateur logo designer and I’ve made a logo with one letter two words, but the difference is the two words are the name of the brand but each in a different language that share one letter (S) which looks like the letter “e” in the other language. So what’t exactly the reason for not using one letter for two words? Thanks in advance.

    • @ZaidanMhmood

Satori Graphics I see. Makes lots of sense. Using one letter in that case surely shows no consistency in the name parts, so it’ll be separated in the eye and observed as two different parts. Thanks a lot for the clarification. Keep it up, we love these videos :)

Satori Graphics They know that I know more than them. They know I’m a better designer. But they do not understand that everyone can design something. But not everyone can design well. I tell them illustrator and photoshop are tools. Just like a hammer. Just because you know how to use a hammer doesn’t mean you know how to build a house. Unfortunately, in this day and age it’s extremely difficult to get people to realize their own incompetence.

I think that typography with another purpose than compose the graphics should be avoided in logos at all.
If you just put the brand name somewhere with your logo, it doesn't really is part of the design, and if the customer can't recognize the brand looking to graphics, will hardly do it by name.
A lot of logos today need to be used on application icons, and subtitles doesn't work anyway.
But if the brand name is part of logo (like FedEx), no problem.
