CN City combined 2D characters in a 3D background. Is it weird for me to think that CN City might have been one of the ideas Ben Bocquelet got when creating Gumball?

Oh, I used to love Cartoon Network City! Seeing all the characters living together and getting along, having fun and stuff. It used to make me so happy when I was a little girl! It may of inspired the stories I used to write about Nickelodeon characters living at The Nick Hotel!

Though I have been writing some newer ones involving Disney characters at Disney World and Nickelodeon characters at a new, fictional city called "Nicktropilis". Same here. The CN City was the best era when it came to the bumpers and the promos (CGI City design with so many original characters and Warner Bros characters featured on there) but when it came to the programming and the variety on the schedule the Powerhouse Era (1997-2004) with the original checkerboard logo was still the superior era without a doubt. It's all an opinion at the end of the day. The City Era started off great but later in the era (the YES era) is when it really started to slack off badly, so I can't put that era over the Powerhouse Era unfortunately, but for my childhood I enjoyed both the Powerhouse and City eras equally.

I absolutely LOVE the city and even have faint memories of them! I even drew a comic about it and made an entire theory that it’s where retired shows and their characters go, which is why the flintstones, Jetsons, Regular Show Park, and Finn and Jake’s tree house were there! I hope that as unlikely as it is, it’ll make a third return.

Ah yes, the CN City era was truly the best time for Cartoon Network. Seeing all my favorite shows interact and live in a bustling city just doing everyday things when they're not being particularly cartoony was always fun to see brought to life. Watching my favorites like KND, Hi HI Puffy Ami Yumi, Teen Titans, Foster's, Ed Edd n' Eddy, and so much more in their bumpers was just so funny and wholesome. Even going back to those bumpers to this day continues to bring a tear to my eye.
Honestly its fitting you used such a dreamy theme from Super Mario Galaxy in the background for this one, because thinking back to that era to have actually existed at all, really feels like such an amazing dream...

It felt so natural like they really interact with each other and the environment around them. Also the people who designed and animated these bumpers did a really good job because if you watch these bumpers closely, you can see a lot of small and impressive details in the back ground.

It was without a doubt the most ambitious era of the channel. As great and nostalgic as the Powerhouse era was, the CN City era was so good that it made everything that came after feel extremely lackluster by comparison. A brilliantly animated and directed 2D/3D city with characters spanning over 60 years of animation history roaming about and interacting with one another? That speaks for itself. It gave the channel an air of grandiosity and importance, standing above and beyond the competition and anything seen since. There was simply no better time to watch Cartoon Network. Ideally the city would have continued to expand and evolve over time rather than ever needing to be outright replaced. It stuck around longer internationally, but unfortunately CN execs dug their own graves by making the decision to phase it out. The channel has never recovered and given the current state of things likely never will.

My friends and I had a theory back in the day that the female announcer (typically heard between commercials to tell us what was on next and at the end credits of shows) would eventually star in a CN City show of her own where she's seen interacting with various characters in the same vein as other ones do in the bumpers. We were Anxiously waiting until the bumpers themselves were discontinued. We were sadden and heart broken, would've been nice to see a show centered around the city.

I was 8 years old in summer 2004 when the City Era began. 2 weeks after 2nd grade ended for me. I really enjoyed this era for all the great shows that existed, we all know what those were. Now looking back when it came to my history watching CN, was it the BEST era in CN history, almost, the Powerhouse Era prior to that between 1997-2004 still takes the cake at #1. The CN City was the best when it came to the bumpers but when it came to the programming and the variety on the schedule the Powerhouse Era (1997-2004) with the original checkerboard logo was still the superior era without a doubt. It's all an opinion at the end of the day. The City Era started off great but later in the era (the YES era with the red backgrounds) is when it really started to slack off badly, so I can't put that era over the Powerhouse Era unfortunately, but for my childhood I enjoyed both the Powerhouse and City eras equally.

#6. Summer to fall era 2007
    #7. Noods era 2008-2010

I'll admit, I was a bit sad when CN City replaced the Powerhouse Era. Now, looking back on it, I miss the entire old age of Cartoon Network.

I totally remember Cartoon Network City, it was my childhood. The only segment I remembered so far was when Lazlo and Bloo were singing together about the city and it was really fun to watch. *Sigh* Childhood memories 😢 And P. S., Cartoon Network will forever be my childhood too✊

I really want the City Version of Cartoon Network to come back.
It all made it seem like the network was one big community. But...I imagine that Titans Go would be pushed back somewhere desolate in the city.
A place that's near similar to the Glades from Arrow

I’m 24 years old and I’ve been watching Cartoon Network and tv in general since I was months old thanks to my parents. I remember back when the city era started in 2004 and I was 7. I came down stairs one morning and I had turned on the tv in the living room and everything had changed. I was shocked. I didn’t know what happened to Cartoon Network. The little did I know, the city era had started. I’ve been watching adult swim since I was 4 or 5 in 2001 or 2002. And bombrang in 2000 since I was three. the noons era which is my second favorite era of Cartoon Network which came after the city era. The check era is my third favorite after the noons era. I remember a little bit of the powerhouse era I think that’s what it’s called before the city era. I remember things here and there of the powerhouse era. I’ve stopped watching tv in 2020 of June or may.

Flapjack and Chowder are worst crappy shows like CN Real.
Noods era sucks. Our era from European CN Arrow was better than shitty era 2009-2010.
I agree with Star Wars The Clone Wars 2008 and Ben 10 Alien Force and you forgot Ultimate Alien and Secret Saturdays.

Yeah I like the CN city era. It felt so cool and it also shows that CN is a family friendly channel. It also had good shows and interactions with good characters. It evened showed how Cartoon Network was made by including characters from Boomerang. I think that was the year of animated host named Erin was in charge of some animated shows on Saturday morning (forgot what it is called) anyways that also had some good shows running on it like Code Lyoko and something else that was good. Erin also was in OK Go Crossover Nexus as a statue. CN City was definitely the best era. I agree on that.

What Cartoon Network needs to do is put all their old classic shows back on the schedule along with the new hits and a new CN City it's the only way for Cartoon Network to have a great future and return to its former glory.

I WISH Cartoon Network would bring this CN City back, I would LOVE to see Cartoon Network shows like, Flapjack, The Secret Saturday, Generator Rex, Regular Show, Sym-Bionic Titans, Johnny Test, 6Teen, Total Drama, The Looney Tunes Show, Steven Universe, We Bare Bears, Clarence, O.K KO, Apple & Onion, Craig of the Creek, and Victor and Valentino apart of the city roaming/walking around, having their own bumpers, and locations from their see apart of the city. That would so great to see happens.

I Honestly LOVE The City Era. Because, Like Everyone Else, I Watched CN In This Era As A Little Kid. I Also Remember CN Invaded During The Time Of This Era, And It Was Both Scary And Awesome!
Going Back On Topic, CN City Was Arguably The Best Era And It Was Nice Seeing Many CN Characters Interact With One Another In This Amazing Live-Action Recreation Of All The Original CN Locations. Seriously, The Recreations Of All The CN Locations Were Really Awesome, Like The KND Treehouse And Even Fosters, Those Are Just Some Examples. I Kinda Wish CN Went Back To This Era, But That's Probably Never Gonna Happen. But, I Still Love This Era (Next To The Noods Era, But CN City Will Always Be #1!).
