I don't think creating AI nude photos of someone should be a crime, since at that point, you could criminalize just getting someone who looks very similar to them. However, I think if you claim that the photos are of the person, when in fact they are generated by AI, THAT should be illegal, because it makes the person a target. You should have to disclose that they are AI.

No, it'll be against people's right to their privacy and freedom. We should be able to do anything we want in our private space whether it's your hobby or even photoshopping or AI deepfaking porn, as long as you're not committing murder nor animal cruelty. Those are complete different and imcomparable things to fake harmless nude images of people. Also by posting pictures of yourself online you're agreeing and giving people on the internet your consent to do whatever they want with your pictures. Even if you're publicly deepfaking porn, it's not that deep, get over it.

If real pictures being spread is against the law, then the same should go for AI edited pictures because it can destroy people's lives just as easily. This might not be murder or animal cruelty but it is still just as harmful and could be used for things even worse. It isn't about what's being faked and whether it's someone hobby or not- it's about the power these pictures hold and the danger they pose. No one can truly "get over" watching themselves be defiled by thousands of strangers online. It's horrifying, violating, and traumatic. It causes you to never feel comfortable in your body ever again, and that is a horrible fate for anyone to experience.

Social media has really turned against the people who like to post their personal life online, especially Women. I'm glad *R* didn't try to hurt herself in any way. I've heard too many cases of women commiting Suicide because they couldn't stand being Cyber bullied on social media. In this sick world we live in makes me glad that I have no sisters. But i still worry about any of my family members and friends who post themselves online. It seems the best thing for women to do is leave social media altogether if they are being bullied, or not to start at all.

AI can be used for good, but when put in the wrong hands, it can turn into chaos and raise ethical concerns. It's crazy that people can essentially create the most depraved images that isn't normally possible, an example would be creating images of fake children doing suggestive things.

Pretty much what the above comments already said. Even if you yourself don't post any images yourself, if you have an account on social media or any other platforms, any related data WILL reference you at some point. That's how intricate our current social media systems are, thanks to the additional use of the smartphone. If you really would like to stay completely private with no repercussions whatsoever, you'd need to stay anonymous on the internet through and through.

This has become one of the reasons why I hate how AI is spreading in our world like wildfire. Sure I agree with most of wat you said, now with deepfakes, I think it should require live consent if the victim is human. The problem with that is weird stuff will keep getting made, it feels dangerous that people even have access to such technology without working for it. The longer and tougher it is to get something made, the easier it is to regret at some point and start thinking about stopping altogether. I think you're onto something with banning Ai image posts but at the same time sites like Instagram would require even more personal information & tracking capabilities on all the time 24/7 to see when and how it is being generated. It would likely slow sites down a bit, which if you can't stand then you're essentially forced to go back to the real world which is good for all of us as a society. But we also probably need to regulate the porn sites too, I am personally weirded out by the categories, and I heard they keep allowing illegal content to still show and make money too. Maybe it's an okay outlet for guys to see their fantasies play out instead of having to harm someone else to do it, but the way women are presented with a menu and objectified is unhealthy too. Some women are okay with objectifying themselves but maybe it depersonalizes things for themselves and helps them feel safer if they don't form bonds with their clients over their real personalities and tidbits of info like getting to know where they are both from. @@Asuraunl Some AI programs literally have rules/ guidelines that make sure you cannot have nudity or even request any in your final images. But not all AI programs have such a safeguard in place. So yes they should also be held accountable as well. If they allow nudity in their final images they could be used to create nudes of minors...I'm not sure how old Rachelle is but if it's that easy to create such images then the company should be charged too.
I've used a couple of different AI creation programs when everyone was creating AI thumbnails of themselves. And 1 of the programs I used literally and randomly created some images of me with no top on when all I submitted were standard selfies...It shouldn't be that easy...

This happened to my classmates, they were 12 to 14 years of age and one of my classmates used AI to ludify the targetted girls and he even blamed one of his best friends and his reputation diminished badly. One of the targetted girls even told his framed friend to off himself and told him he is a horrible human being. It's really sad that something that can be used to help us can be used to do something evil once in the wrong hands. Thankfully tho, He was caught because we were doing a sting operation and he admitted it. This sadly happened on my birthday which kinda ruined my mood.
Yeah, kids are impulsive, we all were young once, i remember thinking we were all "smarter than the adults" as a kid, and tbh maybe i was over a couple (dumb) ones, but also in a way i was a more arrogant, less experienced version of my future self.
Some kids are wise for their years, others still have time to learn. Often we're like little parakeets in our 12-14s. We echo what we've heard, want to fit into social trends, don't really comprehend what we're doing at that age, and tend to want to model behavior to 'impress' or 'be the alpha' or 'be cool' at that age. Only to cringe at it later.
Still though, i think my generation just had those silly rubber bands, cup in wooden balls toys, and fidget spinners. While i have had fun playing dnd with ai to world build. Using it to denudify people, and having it on the google play store without punishment/delisting seems yikes.
Truth be told, having it a click seems like a bad idea, ai filters to check age exist, so do age checks, why are kids allowed to use it, or even pass without any scrutiny?
Kids can be cruel, but sometimes it's done from a place of shit role models. A lot of parents are both working so the kids are left alone in 2024 vs 1980 economy. Kids mold what they see and dumb as it seems. I think i did end up having my generation's brain soft molded on pbs kids on characters like Kindly Mr Rogers / Science teaching Bill Nye / Astrophysics Neil Degrasse Tyson. I've seen some youtube kids and while i don't think of myself as 'too old'.. Seeing murder come up casually for youtube kids and kids also parakeeting higher rates of death threats, not understanding people respawn in game, not irl. And jails are forever is kinda disturbing.

Deep faking (especially with AI) is one of those things I've been afraid of from the very start. I loathed the idea that such a technology could be used to frame others, and this situation is exactly why.
The tech once invented will find a use. You now have deep fake for voices, with its users keen to find a use for that. And so just like that the world is disrupted organised around this limited end use. There's something backwards about the way data now informs our expectations, expectations which warps our perceptions and interactions. backwards as the extreme uses for this tech sets our expectations.

People need to understand that *anything* personal put online can be misused or abused to an extent, whether it's a photo, a video or simply a tweet or a comment on Reddit. With ~15 years of infosec/cybersec experience I can tell you that you can't control threat actors (in this case, malicious people making these vile photos of this girl), but you CAN control the vulnerabilities/risks (i.e. stuff that you post online). That's the only way.
So what you're saying is don't post any photos of yourself or let any other person post photos of you, including friends or even photos taken in public places or work that you might just happen to be in. I'm sorry but if all it takes is a photo of yourself then practically everyone is screwed.

I feel for her. This happened to a dear friend of mines back in high school and everyone seen nude pics with her in it. I told to her parents directly from my phone in the school bathroom letting them know that she was not fine in school that day and everyone except true friends bullied her for those unwanted pics. I feel sorry for her. But AI is not the problem in this case. If you want even without it, you can make very realistic photos of similar nature. Not to mention that you don't need photos for online bullin. The problem is that such actions alone don't carry any liability for the person doing it. And that is the problem that needs to be addressed. As for AI, I am afraid that such cases will simply be used as an excuse for gov censorship and depriving ordinary civilians of access to such technologies.

It’s like saying that a car is responsible for killing someone because the person inside driving it purposefully decides to crash into someone. Or let’s take an API example, you could say it’s easier to make cheats with the Forge mod loader for Minecraft because it allows you to make mods easier. While that’s true, Forge does not endorse the cheats that people make with it. It’s the PERSON violating the TOS of Minecraft, not Forge.
