    As a 125lb grappler, it's essential that I always do 2 things: 1)get smaller than my opponent 2)become so compact that I am unflatten-able. This means always having my elbows inside my knees and my knees inside my shoulders and occasionally my neck inside my knees.

      Only issue I’ve found with having a guard that is near impassible is that my side control and mount escapes aren’t the best since I don’t get there often. I mean I have some crafty ways to re-guard or do back takes from there but if someone can establish side control or mount on me I’m pretty fucked. -One of those purple belts

    I came here to say. Xande's videos are best! Especially if you are new to jiu-jitsu. It's simple concepts and habits you want to get into early in your jiu-jitsu training. Most instructors teach a move then grapple but don't go deeper. His videos don't teach moves, he teaches 3 or 4 defensive postures that jiu-jitsu game can be built apon.

  • @Baseketballify
    @Baseketballify 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is great stuff. It's so simple but, like many things, difficult to master. And unlike some of these whacky methodologies like worm guard or inverted guard, it's transferrable to self-defense jiu-jitsu, no-gi, MMA, or even a real life encounter.
    And it doesn't hurt that both and Bernardo are excellent conveyers of information. You can be the best in the world but if you lack the necessary teaching and communicating skills, that knowledge will stay trapped in your mind and die with you.

    Pra brasileiro que está assistindo ou quem fala a língua portuguesa o curso do Xande Ribeiro em português num outro canal é muito bom e esclarecedor, você ter acesso ao curso e depois vim ver estes vídeos fica muito mais entendível, porque no curso ele passa os exercícios, dril que precisa fazer pro seu corpo e memória muscular aprender os movimentos. Se tiver em português também no canal do Bernardo vou comprar já tenho o do Brasil, no Pura.
