My grandfather went to korea in batallon Colombia, fighting with the US forces against north korea and china. He was 26 years old. he was wounded by a shot from a Chinese soldier, although luckily he was able to survive until 2002.
I’ve been researching my Genealogy and apparently my great grandfather fought in the Navy in WW2 and he adopted a son whom fought in Korea. My great uncle: Joseph Eugene Rapp 1933-2019 I wish I was able to meet you, now Rest in peace
I once had the privilege of talking to a Korean vet. He was an MP and he told me the proudest thing he’s ever done during his deployment was that he never wrote anyone up. As his story goes as he was surveying the base a few soldiers would come back after drinking and god knows what causing havoc, and he said as a couple came from a whore house and after giving them a boot he says “get the hell out of here”. Despite the many degenerates and many troublemakers. Not one got written up from the man, Buzzy from Virginia.
