What are those shovel trays called? Thank you for your time! @8:04, as example. I see them used by so many Japanse gardeners, but have not found anything similar in the EU.
Hello! Thank you for these beautiful videos! I have two questions: Is the charcoal solely decorative? And is the dark material they spread over the moss and watered in a type of soil?
Charcoal is usually applied to the area under the eaves where rain falls to prevent mud feathering, but in this case it is a decorative feature. In this case, the black soil is spread for various purposes, including to provide nutrients and prevent drying.
Why was the decision made to replace the maple with the pine? It seemed like it provided a nice level of depth in the garden and movement. I am also curious about spreading the charcoal among the moss. Does that create a dark backdrop for the moss, or does it help with its growth?
The garden is very beautiful but I still don’t get it how can we walk into the tearoom through that window. Can’t figure out. Also wonder what is the view from the tearoom, I feel uncomfortable with such windows.
Guys your garden and videos are amazing can you guys please tell me what are you adding to the moss planted from minute 7:40 to 8:50? Thank you guys for sharing
Again a very relaxing great video. Only I do not quite understand the function of the last stone on the wall. Is it there to be able to climb into the room? With kimono I imagine the last step but almost impossible.
@@JapaneseGardenTV Thank you for the quick reply. I'm sure I can't judge it as well as you can, but in the video the height difference from the last stone into the room, looks very high for a woman wearing a kimono. By the way, I have been to Japan twice and I liked it very much.
I know this video is now a year old and that you're likely traveling. It is unlikely you'll have an answer to my question, but I'll try anyway! Do you know what type of stone was used for the "sea"/drainage of the tsukubai? I am trying to source a similar stone and am having trouble finding something that will work!
I just love the charcoal used - is it what's called chrysanthemum charcoal ? I saw a another of your videos that used it extensively... Another great video !

Art of gardening is best by Japanese. Love it.
The best and original ones are Chinese
This garden is so simple and minimal, but so beautiful! I love that guys jacket with the fans; must be cool!
Clothes with fans have become common wear in Japan 😂.
Thanks!
So minimal but yet so beautiful. How I wish to have a Japanese garden at my house?!? Thank you for sharing and stay safe.

I really think you are right!
Minimalistic piece of art. Nice :)

Had the same questions
I’m thinking the “soil” @ the end was fertilizer?
@@aliciakreisler3246 Looking forward to his reply!
@@vickihyatt535 me too😊

Simple and minimalize..a great garden ❤️

Pretty garden, I think a lantern would be a nice addition, but perhaps it was not in the budget.
I think simplicity was the priority this time.😊

Beautiful, beautiful vídeo! Thank you for sharing this.
I love it beautiful Japanese garden💚
Another beautiful garden😊 Thank you for sharing🙏
Thank you for your watching!!
It's a beauty.
What did you put on top of the Moss was that a soil or was that more of a stone mixture and is that the whole the moss in place
Should say hold the Moss in place
The top was sprinkled with black soil.
It has various roles, such as to provide nutrients and to prevent drying out.
Beautiful!
Guys your garden and videos are amazing can you guys please tell me what are you adding to the moss planted from minute 7:40 to 8:50? Thank you guys for sharing
That is black soil.
It takes nutrients and cheats drying.
This is beautiful!
Thank you😊✨
Beautiful! Bravo! Many Blessings and Kind Thanks! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Thank you Davey-san!
Excellent 👍
Thank you😊
Sencillo y hermoso, felicitaciones.
Again a very relaxing great video. Only I do not quite understand the function of the last stone on the wall. Is it there to be able to climb into the room? With kimono I imagine the last step but almost impossible.
The last stone acts like a staircase to enter the room.
I will try to take a video of the actual use of this garden someday.

Hi Garden桑, do you guys do garden design for another country?
Yes we do!! I would like to do that very much!

Good😊
🙌
are these charcoal logs for water purification or is it a decorative element?
In Japanese gardens, charcoal is sometimes placed where rain falls to prevent mud from splashing. In this case, it is used for design purposes.
👍👍👍
🌿👌✨
🙌✨
Why smother the moss by adding dirt afterwards? I typically see the landscapers of this channel add the dirt/clay first then the moss.
Video today?
For its simple look. It was far from simple to create.
Beautiful!
