Cheers buddy! Of all the kit bashed sections I've made for my Germans, I think the Gebirgsjager are probably my favourite. A lot of fun to work on, bits and pieces from several different kits and a unique and individual section built ☺
Amazing conversions mate love how you keep them all looking very natural and German looking as a lot of the kit is American and British fantastic work. Also thank you for the shout out it means a lot. Can’t wait for your next vid. Keep them coming 😀
Cheers Jonny, much appreciated! I wanted to try and hide the rucksack where I could with other bits and pieces to break up the uniformity and try and disguise that they are USMC equipment. The plan is to start painting these today. No worries mate, like I said it was a really interesting video and always good to know what makes other people paint :)
Very nice. The Gebirgsjager box is one of my favourite sets of figures, just a shame Warlord have produced only those and no-one else seems to have made any. I’ve got the Commando box set but obviously I need the backpacks for them and I don’t have any USMC. I might just buy a sprue of both Commando and USMC and I’ve got hordes of Germans anyway.
Thanks Lee! Having had a look at the metal Gebirgsjager, I really like the miniatures but I prefer to work with plastics. These ones are a bit more 'snowy' looking that what I'm aiming for. Having used the USMC packs, I'm confident that any type of pack or a mixture would absolutely work :)
Cheers Lucian, kit bashing really is one my favourite parts of the hobby and something that I will try to do every time I start a new team or section. These Gebirgsjager were a lot of fun to build and I used pieces from a whole host of different kits :)
Cheers Sean, much appreciated! Of all the kit bashed sections that I have completed recently, these are definitely my favourite. They look so different to the others but look exactly how I wanted them to look :)
Cheers Dario! Despite making these many years ago, I've never actually used these in games of Bolt Action. I'm currently reworking my German Bolt Action collection and these will be getting an updated paint scheme at some point 😃
Absolutely agree with this 100%! With the amount of plastic kits that Warlord Games has, there is always scope and opportunity to indulge in kit bashing. I think having a figure or squad that is completely unique is a great party of the hobby ☺
Thanks Kaleb! I wasn't sure how they were going to end up looking but I'm pretty pleased with how they turned. Sure, Gebirgsjager are essentially mountain/alpine troops. They tend to have different battledress to other units of the army and carry a lot of specialist equipment. In games of Bolt Action they can be equipped with skis but I'm going to be running mine as veterans without skis :)
On Point HQ well they turned out swell! And that’s really cool, do you know what their camo scheme was? Like white and the German grey? I wonder if there was a Swiss unit like how napoleon had the Swiss foot,if Germany had a Swiss unit in ww2.
From what I've seen looking at reference pictures, their uniforms were a mixture of greys, browns and greens. I think with painting mine as late war I'm going to mix in a few colours to make them a bit more diverse looking :) I'm really not sure dude, the Napoleonic era is not my strongest topic but it wouldn't surprise me if there were similar mountain/alpine troops during this time.
You are specifically asking for this in the video forvo.com/word/gebirgsjäger/ These are German native speakers pronouncing it and you can listen over and over again. By the way your German is not bad. Rammstein seems to be a good teacher :)))
Cheers Paul, I'm glad that you found it useful! I would probably say fairly easy. I made a previous video - th-cam.com/video/ceRTuaU4UXU/w-d-xo.html where I used various bits and pieces to make plastic crews for German medium machine gun teams. I'm not a fan of metal kits so have done this to make a new crew for my PAK40 and medium mortar team. The plastic range from Warlord is great and there is great versatility that allows mixing and matching between them :)
Cheers Dom and you are definitely right......it has certainly turned into something of an addiction. I'm going to finish these, the veteran Fallschirmjager and the Luftwaffe Field Division and then see exactly how big the project is :)
Wow they look amazing, great job on them, you've given me some ideas for future projects
Cheers buddy! Of all the kit bashed sections I've made for my Germans, I think the Gebirgsjager are probably my favourite. A lot of fun to work on, bits and pieces from several different kits and a unique and individual section built ☺
Enjoyed this mate and youte right jonny watsons stuff is so good
Cheers Justin, glad you enjoyed the video. I'm really enjoying the kit bashing at the minute and I'm looking at even more in the near future :)

They look great, nice job!
Cheers Phil, much appreciated! I really enjoyed putting these together and I've almost painted the unit ☺
I really like the kit bashing models, mountain troops looks nice with the backpacks

Very nice work buddy
Cheers Nick! Its getting to be a bit of an addiction but great fun too :)
Love the Gebirgsjäger... wished they hade better or more usefull Rules... like Mountaineer.
Cheers Dario! Despite making these many years ago, I've never actually used these in games of Bolt Action. I'm currently reworking my German Bolt Action collection and these will be getting an updated paint scheme at some point 😃
@@OnPointHQ can't wait to see them. I intuitively Build Similar Gebirgsjäger a week ago.... Just because i liked the look so much.
i doubt any1 can ever get bored kitbashing :D

I love the way these models came out. Can you explain the unit they’re in?

On Point HQ I get ya lol
I keep telling myself that I'll finally work on some AWI/Napoleonics for Sharpe Practice but never actually finish anything....😅

Some great ideas there mate. How easy do you reckon converting crewed weapons would be if I wanted a whole platoon of these guys?

@@OnPointHQ cheers I will check it out.
Awesome! One of the main aims of my German army was to see just how much I could kit bash from various different kits. Quite a few as it turned out :D
The Video I needed!
It’s pronounced geh-breegs- jager. All Gs in German are pronounced with a soft G. No J sounds!
Thank you for the clarification, much appreciated :)
You mean geh-beergs-jager, what you wrote would be Gebrigsjäger
You are addicted mate..... nice job though
Cheers Dom and you are definitely right......it has certainly turned into something of an addiction. I'm going to finish these, the veteran Fallschirmjager and the Luftwaffe Field Division and then see exactly how big the project is :)
