I'm sorry, I watched it again and it's slightly different. This year here in the Netherlands we had a series of 'the Best of 10 years the voice of holland'. Mitchell Brunings told here that a few family members of Bob Marley tweeted his audition and he got to play at the world premiere of a show about Bob Marley's life story in Baltimore. Bob Marley's family was present and his daughter told Mitchell that she found it scary how close he sounds to her father's voice.

The Romania guy got the judges out of their chairs. And the one dude literally knelt and payed homage to that voice. This is the power of music. He killed it and made a legend live again for a while.
The dude who knelt is the only from the coaches who actually was at Michael Jackson's concert from Bucharest 92. He was a student. In December 89 Romania just got freed from comunism and was very tough years. The King was the first big artist who got the balls to come to Romania and did his best show ever. Just look for Michael Jackson Bucharest 92 and you will understand...

I think the point for having the Voice is for the *coaches* to teach these raw talents and polish their techniques or improve their singing. There might be some coaches who are honest to themselves and convinced they are not good enough to do so, however they are also competing among themselves about whose student would be the winner. So some of the future/past winners probably didn’t learn much because the crowds already love them for their voice.
They choose their potential mentees carefully, if the person has raw talent, all of them would have turned, but since this talent was already semi polished and was already inclined to pop then the two male judges just encouraged them to turn since one female judge is a pop singer and the other one is Lea Salonga. The one male judges is more into rock and ballads, the other one is APL of the Black Eyed Peas

Speaking for me...I'd want to see if that person could carry the rest of the song and the changes in it throughout. Most songs also have that major part in it that separates the good singers from the great.
